i will wait for iphone 4 second batch before i go for it, i want them to fix the antenna problem
*
Just get an otterbox bumper, end of story to fix the iphone 4 antenna prob.

The worst thing is they give pathetic excuses like "Your holding it wrong" and "Thats just an optical illusion". I guess the bigger corporate you are, the bigger bull shite comes out since telling the truth is way worse then outright lying.

u havent use it yet... u dont know... news can be like gossips nowadays.. wait till it arrivesĀ  and let a few guiney pigs use it first..
*
The main consensus with people who are using it have complained what websites have been mentioning that the phone suffers from poor reception due to the design feature of exposing the antenna to bare skin or anything that can conduct electricity (The human body is a very good conductor).

engadget, gizmodo have done test on it and its true. Plus consumer reports have done extensive test on the iphone 4 and have confirmed that drop signals and calls are due to the apple iphone antenna design.

You can check what test procedures that they go through to get their results and conclusions.

http://www.consumerreports.org/cro/how-we-test/index.htm

So its pretty safe to say that iphone 4 signal reception is the suck.

Plus my cousin on ontario and in manhattan has one and it is the suck, but then again they dont get any coverage in their home, thank you very much at&t.

Is it easy for a Veterinarian to find a job in Singapore?
*
Well theres a market for it since singaporeans are becoming like japs where they treat their pets like their son or daughter and dote them with attention, care and items. Even doggy massage and manicures are available.

ooo....you can inform your cousin to send their iphone4 for full refund...even AT&T contract can get refund..
*
Like singapore, if you break the contract, gotta pay termination fee which is expensive since the iphones come with the standard 2 year contract with at&t. They oledi inquired and no dice after the 1 month period, plus they were the early birds who had the opportunity of getting the phone early since they recontract just for the iphone 4.

A few of my frens changed carrier to verizon from at&t coz of the sucky service and to get the driod x.

another thing to add is that on weekends in S'pore...it's jam packed w philippinos..(spelling..)
cz s'pore allows their maids one day off in a week.

this kind of things u dont see in kl..something i prefer...
*
You must really dislike filipino's.

Of course lar singapore got better benefit compared to maids compared to malaysia, alot of malaysian abuse or treat their maids as nothing more then their personal slaves.

Sien.. Need to move house. Argh. Idiot tenant, did not register us with HDB that she is renting to us. Now scare already coz HDB are strict recently.
*
Tell her to pay you compensation or you will tell hdb that she let you stay wihtout informing hdb.

Make copies of your tenancy agreement as well as receipts as proof that you stayed in her house and that she didnt inform you that she was registered with hdb to sublet her room to you.

Since she is scared just coz of the news, she would be more forthcoming if you pursue with this action.

not only malaysian abuse maids, if u read the newspaper in singapore, u can read alots of news regarding how singaporeans abuse them till they poison them back.
*
Yea, but unlike malaysia, singapore doesnt have a temp ban on maids due to the number of abuse cases in malaysia.

Then you gotta find a new place. How much time are you given to find a new place?

If we have tenancy agreement with the landlord like this still not considered register with HDB or there's another process to go register . ? Thought the tenancy is something like government stamped ?
*
Like in malaysia, to make it recognized as "legal" by the government, you need to have it stamped by the appropriate government body, as in singapores case , HDB.

In malaysia, whenever i rent out my property, i have a tenancy agreement drafted by my lawyer and i do get it stamped from the government just to cover the legal aspects of it.

But i had a tenant once who broke the contract and worse still the buggers left me with 2 months back dated rent, a rather large unpaid electricity and water bill plus they stole all my light, fan fixtures and seriously, even the kitchen sink.

Went to the police to lodge a report but the police ask me to "close on eye", any guesses why?

Its stamp duty.
HDB don't care a shit about what is written on any tenancy agreement.
*
They just want their cut of your cake. Most people wont bother since the government is greedy as it is and there isnt any additional benefits for the landlord to get just becoz the government made it illegal for you not to give money to them.

if i wanna get a notebook, is it cheaper to get it in SG or MY? is Sim Lim Sq a good place for bargain?

p/s: im looking for a budget entry level notebook with 14" screen (less than SGD900)
*
Relatively the same, if you buy in malaysia and theres and issue with the laptop, you gotta go back to my just to claim warranty.

You can offset the cheaper price in malaysia when you pay for transport just to send it back for warranty.

In Singapore, all is based on experience and demand, i think SGD2.5K is a max for diploma holder for majority field,
*
Wrong, oceaneering hire diploma holders with salary averaging around 3K and above, not inlcuding OT or allowances if their outstation.

Well, you dont expect them to give people the job just like that. At least they have on the job training on ROV vehicle operation in batam and inspection services at jurong island. You can call up their operations manager mark or if your lucky, you can meet his brother paul at jurong island for some info.

Another 'foreign talent' Singapore is taking in. No wonder the Singaporeans are venting and screaming hysterically on top of their voices.
*
A large number of singaporeans have upgraded themselves to the PMET level and most of them are reluctant or unwilling to be in the service industry or manufacturing sector which is being lapped up by foreigners. It would be a win-win situation where the singaporean hire foreigners for less money for jobs which most singaporeans are already unwilling to work.

Construction, customer service and mechanical engineering are areas which singaporeans demographic is falling since they have been brought up to be either better or to shun these jobs. Most singaporeans prefer to work a normal 8-5 job in an air conditioned environment in front of a computer.

Even my client saipem hardly take singaporeans since they shun jobs which involve going inside or near a ship drenched in oil. Which reminds me of an incident whereby a singaporean fella was on the ship doing some sort of assessment and everybody could see that he was very uncomfortable even just standing on deck and kept on checking his glove for stains.
