Just back from dyno tuning my SAFC2. Pear hp is 118whp while peal torque is 138Nm. Not very much improvement compared to before AFPR+ACP upgrade, but the the torque curve is flat all the way to 6.5k rpm.

can share your dyno chart..wanna compare with my own. I only have 2 mods.. Hotbits 4-1 and K&N drop in. The rest stock standard.

I'm getting 116whp and 136NM torque but i'm running a bit lean due to better breathing. I'm planning to install SAFC2 end of the year hoping to push up torque and HP by another 5HP / NM respectively.
*
The tuner at JC Racing advice me better not set it too lean to 'protect' the engine. Will upload the dyno chart when I find a scanner.

Added on May 25, 2010, 1:48 pmMax hp/torque doesn't matter much to me. The curve that flat out till 7k rpm is my target as I always drag till there.

Not to run too lean on engine because it will harm the engine. It can make your engine overheat faster due to the combustione chamber getting more hot. Especially for campro engine as it having a poor cooling system. That why most factory set the mixture a bit rich to protect the engine. Lean mixture can make the car more power but will sacrified the engine life.
*
After tuning I have more confidence to rempit. Before this (after retard my cam). I purposely set the SAFC to rich.

The boss there recommend me to install e-manage. 1.4k complete with install tuning. brows.gif

Added on May 25, 2010, 4:38 pmI think this is as much as we can get since the Neo CPS Lotus Ed. also got 145hp only and it got higher cam profile.

i've compiled a comparison of spiroth's new and old dyno data and matched it against mine. Its in the attachement included here.

BTW, in my previous post i mentioned SAFC2 but actually its E-manage blue dat was recommended to me. Plan to use that to fix my lean mixture.

My dyno is done using Dynojet here in Penang.

Emm.. I thought e-manage not suitable for campro.. hmm.gif If compare to AFC-Neo/SAFC, with one better? brows.gif
Last time spiroth convert it to N-M.. What the formula again... sweat.gif
*
About e-manage, I also 'heard' the same thing. Powerzone recommend to use 'Power Commander' because it is designed for closed loop system and it is connected after ECU, not before. But then, the closed loop are only for 3k rpm and less, so I think it is better to use e-manage/safc/afc-neo. Between SAFC and NEO, ofcourse Neo better, colour LCD. But most of the time, my safc stayed in hiding instead, so no point having a nice display.

Use the online converter to convert the units.

@pearjar: use wolfram alpha website to convert. that's wht i did on my iphone. u can go to website directly also. type "xx.xx kg-M to newton meters"

@spiroth: i was offered 1.7k for e-manage blue plus tuning until happy. AFC-Neo i tink has less options compared to e-manage. besides u dun need a fancy screen. as long as can rempit
*
E-manage blue + install + tuning only 1.4k at JC Racing.

S-AFC/ AFC-Neo is Air Flow Converter... It change air flow rate to get best/optimum A/F ratio... That's all i know...
*
Correct. AFC/SAFC can change airflow setting to tune the A/F ratio only. E-manage can also do ignition timing (if you bought the ignition harness). Its not really something that can improve hp/torque, its just like a 'conditioner'.

A/F too rich, engine response become sluggish and consume more fuel while A/F too lean, might cause damage to the engine.

based on your dyno chart, the best afr is 13 right? does that only apply for campro cps engines?

AFAIK, for NA it should be the same. hmm.gif

I thought the best afr for complete combustion is 14.1 right? What will happen if we set 14? Overheat?

And, somebody did say the cooling system is not that good, anyway to improve that?
*
The 'ideal' is 14.7. But since our fuel and also air is not ideal, the best afr for lowest emission is 14.1. To get the most power, its around 13-13.5. This is from what I've read and please correct me if I'm wrong.

QUOTE(shinjite @ May 26 2010, 01:08 PM)
14 for me is kinda lean already

Cooling system? Get dual layer aluminium radiator ^^

CPS got extra oil cooler if I remember correctly.

I want to improve the torque summore.
I want to change the air filter first. I've recommended to change xractor but the car still new sweat.gif
dont want to touch anything near engine yet
*
Airfilter no problem. Put back the original one when going for service.

Hehe.. Need to wear racun protector ler...

Me also need to sorok.. Wife ask, will say 'alat penjjmat minyak'. tongue.gif
13.5 is dyno dot2 line, most efficient maybe..... Some said 13.8 is the best... Zen/ KCNG icon_question.gif

SC foreman said that cps come with oil cooler, both auto and manual.... But couldn't find it at my car... sweat.gif
*
Thats too lean bro... sweat.gif

My AFPR is also 'alat penjimat minyak'' brows.gif laugh.gif

13.5 or 13.8 depend on tuner, all got their own 'recipe' maybe.. hmm.gif

Any recommendation? plz dont give me high-end punya turbo timer la sweat.gif

No need. Our car got pre-installed timer already. Try driving hard and shut down the engine. The fan will keep spinning for about 5 minutes. laugh.gif

can u PM me where can I get the data? I will re-compile the data again to add your torque details

@spiroth:
JC Auto 1.4k including ignition harness? mine 1.7k includes wor..all in. Pg also 1.4k nia but no ignition timing. Abit pointless. I wan to use full capability of the e-manage otherwise i would consider AFC-Neo. Thanks
*
Without adjustable cam pulley, no need for ignition harness and IMO playing with it is a bit dangerous. <-just my opinion

Compile this standard CPS dyno also in your analysis.

Try to think like this, the savings you got from buying this car at 62k compared to the nearest rival 120hp Honda City at 85k is more than 20k already. That can buy you almost 10k liter of ron97 fuel. nod.gif

The tuning cost for Haltech is not cheap and quite dangerous if not done properly.
