金泉路的養燕活動已有一段時間,居民並非反對業者在店屋進行養燕活動,只吁請希望控制燕聲音量和播放時間

Ordinary malaysians mostly not anti swiftlets as in this case, the residents too said that they are NOT trying complaining to stop swiftlet keepers from keeping swiftlets in shoplot but to tell them to control the volume and time turning on the sound.

thts why,

i strongly suggest to all keepers in Selangor to becomes a member of Selangor Bird's Nest Association.

if they have done that all their farms should have a sticker with the association contact no. and if the residents cannot contact the keepers they can still call the association to complain.

please tell all your friends to register.

if any of u need information or need the registration form, i do not mind sending it to them at my own cost. i am willing to even collects the forms from any farmers at my own cost.

hope that the association will elect a neutral figure as the president of the association...

we don't site with any party as our main purpose is to represent the ordinary keepers in selangor.

please becomes a member and you can participate in electing the new committee members in July 2010 (which is just two weeks from now).

pls check again as they have reduced it to few hundreds and only minimal for yearly fees.

as for selangor, one time payment of few hundreds, u are lifetime member.

the new fees are now extremely affordable, if compare to few years ago when we first joined, we paid over rm3k and yearly fees of rm600 a year. but we never complained as we know we are pioneers and if we don't start it up, no one will.

as if you think that your local association is not doing a good job, you can get few caliber friends and form your own association!.

well, if they are sahabat alam malaysia, please contact them to come to selangor to see for themselves what had happened to all the forest reserves near to sungai tenggi!

all the forest reserves are been cleared out for REFORESTRATION!!!.

so, how about all those anti swiftlets n sahabat alam do spare some times to fight it!!..no, they dares not as they will then in conflict with all the top politicians.

they dares to speak up when they knew they are against the ordinary citizens but they will kowtow to those that in power!.

i am not anti govt but i anti those who destroy our environment.

as for if you are not a member of bn association and u cannot apply licence..i think we should not just have only one association in one state. don't make the same mistake that we all did in the past, we should have at least 5 to 10 associations in one state to help ordinary keepers.

there is no law stated that existing member is not allow to join another bn association. so, we will support any new bn association in malaysia. let us know if you need help to set up one.

we should not have one association representing the whole industry which is very very dangerous.

swiftlet keepers are once called silly men by all....hehe...

rm130k is still cheap. rm300k an acre is expensive but still attractive. look at the price of agriland in sitiawan, even 2nd or 3rd lot from mainroad will cost you rm300k an acre.

a shop with grd flr rm1k rental can sell for rm500k to rm800k. talk about birds craze.

it is not a news anymore.. blink.gif

u will be surprised that some states will gives even less than 5 years.

they cannot gives us a permanant licence, else they will also kena shoot death by non keepers.

they can only gives a 2, 3, and 5 years licence which you can or cannot renew on the next term.

this is true to all states in malaysia including bahau or kemaman or kt or kuantan.

sleep well while you still can.

No news is always good news. trust tht. biggrin.gif

hai....it is rainy days everyday in malaysia.........

storms are building up too....hopefully not tsunami......wipe out the whole industry...

Rumours are plenty....that group want monopoly of the whole industry...

another group act as representatives of farmers but have another bigger plan to monopoly too...

then another group said they are the robin hood and just in case if those group gets what they want to monopoly, they can come n rescue us woh as they have enough power to grab a slice of that monopoly cake woh...

while the birds population in major towns in peninsular are dropping or stagnant, worst...bird's nests prices are dropping liked coconut.....coconut drop u can still hear sounds.....but this one no sound at all...

heard that they are implementing RFID where each time u enter the farm, u need to accompany by an officer to enter the farm, and when harvest finish u placed the harvesting in boxes n seal with the RFID sticker then send to approved factory (10 factories that already get their licences fr VET), sell to them at market price. and this is to ensure the quality of bird's nest woh...

hai...if you have the ability n muscle to monopoly...why not share some of your muscles to help to stop the rare earth plant in kuantan?

really don't want to see another scares of radioactive nests in future...

"The problems they detail include structural cracks, air pockets and leaks in many of the concrete shells for 70 containment tanks, some of which are larger than double-decker buses. Ore mined deep in the Australian desert and shipped to Malaysia would be mixed with powerful acids to make a slightly radioactive slurry that would be pumped through the tanks, with operating temperatures of about 200 degrees Fahrenheit.

The engineers also say that almost all of the steel piping ordered for the plant is made from standard steel, which they describe as not suited for the corrosive, abrasive slurry. Rare earth refineries in other countries make heavy use of costlier stainless steel or steel piping with ceramic or rubber liners.

The engineers also say that the concrete tanks were built using conventional concrete, not the much costlier polymer concrete mixed with plastic that is widely used in refineries in the West to reduce the chance of cracks. "

that place is situated in swamp land.....imagine the contamination....worst how about those who stay there....

officer need to follow u enter the farm as they need to scan the gps tracker installed (u have to buy from them loh) in your farm n to record the date n place those nests harvested from which farm... then only they have records woh..

Is there anything we can do about? This case look like it is out of our hands. Only the top guys can do something about it. Without proper quality control, this industry will take another risk to collapse.

However, if we are only to sell our raw bird nests to certified/approved companies for processing, i think it is a good idea. But there are slightly drawbacks for this idea. Our EBN prices will be controlled by these companies. As long it is reasonable, i dont mind about lower price. But dont too low. After all, our BH will produce more nests in the future than today. Now this industry just made a highlight in chinese media, so they will definitely lost confident on bird nest at the moment. Either way, i dont see EBN price will go up after this event.

PS: Remember, we are in an industry where we depend on China market. Which mean chinese. And to chinese, they like traditional things like ginseng and any other traditional herbs that have been used for far way too long ago. Bird nest is classified as traditional food and culture and also for its nutrition values. So for those who just venture into this industry, dont give up. Otherwise you will be regret and few years down the road, you will ask why u didnt venture into this industry at the first place. For old farmers, im sure you think the same thing as i do, otherwise you wouldnt build your BH at the first place. Everything got up and down. Not necessarily up forever.

hmm.gif deep freeze it and keep it till 2100, i am sure the price of bird's nests will be around RM400,000 a kilo as by then...birds most likedly already extinct...fat liao!!.....

but i wonder how to deep freeze all the bank loans too?? hmm.gif

processors must go there lah...i think farmers also must go as we need to highlight to MOH that when they order the special boxes to distribute to farmers...please order different sizes lah...

as...

not all are harvesting liked all the big taikohs in association...ordinary farmers harvest in numbers oli...not gram or kilo...

a bit pai seh when u gives us a box n we harvest the nests..when weight it....the box more heavy than the nests.... blush.gif paiseh leh.....

and also, please lah, the 10 factories with license...please don't work together to set the price lah....as u set liked that we mana can survive? cry.gif

if i go sell in Factory B, factory B said, the market price now is RM1000.00, u don't believe, u go n ask the others!..go, Factory A,C,D,E,F,G,H,I,and J..they all quoted RM800.00...as they have enough stock to cover their demand as their factory already full house liao...mana boleh process so much!...newspaper said last year we sell 100tons to china...so, each factory can process only 10 tons mah!.....u don't sell, then u eat yrself loh!... rclxub.gif

when go back to Factory B, ohh...now the price is RM850.00 liao!..who ask u to wait!....now i am very good hearted to buy ur nests at RM50 extra from market price liao!...u must thank me..

ohh....maybe drink too much liao...better go lau sai again...no eye see....go meditate...maybe can ` lu ting ' for 100yrs.....

ya ahh?...how come the culprits are processors n not farmers but they chose to trace us? they should have set up a QA/QC dept in each factory and put DVS or VET officers there to guard the place and do 100% checked in order to guarantee quality of nests export to China mah?....Right?...

but then actually govt also do a lot for us. they willing to pay RM20millions to set up this trace system for farmers..and what farmers need to fork out is just to buy the GPS tracker from the CONSULTANT of Trace system..the price not reveal yet but if google overseas prices..i think about RM600 a unit...

so, 50,000 farms and each buy one unit :

total : RM60,000,000.00

hmm.gif

shocking.gif

blink.gif

wah lau!!!......fat loh!!.....ai ya.....how come we never think of that too!...aiya....sudah lambat...really good biz leh....all the suppliers are now millionaire's liao... whistling.gif

Added on September 29, 2011, 8:02 amVET themselves many many years ago assured the govt that swiftlets do not carry any diseases at all..so, why need to trace where it farms?

Added on September 29, 2011, 8:04 amall this is due to Red Nests scandal so it is the processors that we need to monitor, why need to spend 20millions then?

Added on September 29, 2011, 8:12 amin order to assure the quality of bird's nests, what the DVS/Vet need to do is, to request all processors that they need to submit samples to be tested for nitrite level or they need to set up a lab to do the test every day. depends on how many shifts they operate, if they work round the clock with three shifts then they need to collect samples to do the test. and attached the test report when they ship it to china.
they will need to keep the records n samples for at least 2 years.

but talk k so long, do we need to do all this? if cook liao...nitrite level already zero what!... bird's nests are not end products, still need to cook before makan ahh....ai ya.....better go back meditate...`lu ting'.....oommmm...

Added on September 29, 2011, 8:14 ambefore lu ting...hmm....seems liked the trend now goes to finish product where customers can just open n makan.....bird's nests tablets or in bottles...hmm....

u are one lucky chap not to own a farm yet...envy u...

but not really a good biz for retirement plan, u wouldn't get this type of advice from those already in this biz..all will tell how lucrative n how attractive n how easy it is.....but hope u did bought lands though....land prices already goes up double what it worth one year ago after the new highway link opened...

so far only selangor asso had openly rejected any monopoly play after been asked by members during asso. building opening cere last week. While sarawak asso also rejected the request of VET to install gps tracker in all farms there. all other associations are supporting the system i think.....

Just back from PutraJaya..left early before the end to avoid the commuter rush hour.

1)My observation...MOH seem sincere in wanting to resolve the issue with China
2)They claim to be in touch with their Chinese counterparts...and are enforcing our existing food safety regulations to comply with the Chinese requirement of 0 PPM for the stuff. The Fed Assoc have reiterated that that stuff occur naturally in raw EBN (this require you guys to verify) and 0ppm is not achievable. MOH claim that they have indicative positive response with their Chinese counterpart for 1 ppm....yet to be confirmed.
MANY CLAIM HERE THEY KNOW THE RIGHT WAY TO PROCESS NEST N KNOW ALL BOUT IT
simple ,bring some of yr raw n cleaned n run a lab test that is cheap n they have branch every state

http://www.bphealthcare.com/BPLab/contactus.asp

to get the nitrite ppm/Kg then only talk weather yr nest is qualify fr export then only talk bout wat kind of box should use n wat kind of tracking they wanna post
rclxub.gif rclxms.gif = DROP AGAIN

[/quote]

ask china to test their chinese medicine herbs, sea cucumber, white fungus, red dates, kei chi, and many many more china products nitrite ppm and see which of it contain 0ppm nitrite level...that will shut them up...even US standard is more than 100ppm...and this is not an issue...

actually this is just an excuse for a bigger monopoly plan played by all the taikohs both in malaysia and in china...i guess lah......rumours again lah...hopefully this is just a rumour......i don't think the present govt is so bad heart til they don't even gives the rakyat a chance to earn some money to feed the family as we are not able to involve in other more lucrative business liked open petrol station, getting free AP's, Subsidies n stuffs....at least the govt is good hearted enough to gives us a break as this industry is so risky that we invest 10, only one or two that are profitable and the rest are total lost n the income not even enough to pay the bank loan interest.......

Our beloved Prime Minister, we need your help icon_question.gif ........if this drag on another few more months...the suicide rate will jump up in malaysia.... sweat.gif

good news, at last our agri minister take advices from the real bn exporters to concentrate on resolving the ppm issue with china instead of focusing on registration and gps tracking system... he said already proposed to china that bn nitrite 30ppm is allowable n wait for the feedback from china.

he also proposed to china to grade the bn with three standard : 1) Top Grade Bird's Nest (white), 2) lower grade Bird's nest ( maybe a bit yellow kua..), 3) Higher moisture level bird's nest ( not sure why this come out)...

hope this is expedite....before it is too late....

but gps n licence n monopoly issues still intact.....waiting for the next opportunity to strike back.....hai....

miss the program? no worry, the program is nothing but .. ` Yu Mo Lun Chi!'....just liked me....... sayonara.
