I didn't order strap yet, might get another strap for matching purpose, wait and see how it goes after I get the watch  biggrin.gif
will try the site u given and look for some strap
found C7 rapide watch was quite nice too

suddenly website updated with C5 malvern quart and it was alot cheaper  hmm.gif
*
C5 quartz are suppose to be cheaper in the 1st place. or U trying to say there is a price drop?

haha.. C7 chrono.. The C40 maybe the cheapest to watch that is equipped with a 7750. but the blue screws looked weird.

Hi guys. I dun really know much about watch but i do love nice watches. Recently I have a very good offer of an old Tissot model which is Tissot PRC200, it's new with 2 years warranty. anyone who owns this watch mind to share their experience with this watch? and how's Tissot watch quality? If have problem how and where do i claim the warranty? I only own a Casio Edifice and Seiko watch. Feel like trying other brand instead of the current 2 brands. Tight budget which below RM1k and i guess not much choices around ya.
u meant its an older model.
tissot build good watches. U wouldn't have a problem on a swiss quartz. of course there are brands that produce lemon.
if it is having an issue just go to swatch to claim the warranty. quartz watches can be hard to repair and get it right, exchange is better.

there are a few choices around at your budget.
u do find a many ppl with your kind of working budget but want to go for a automatic. cause small independent brands offer better value.
ppl like myself, Leon|| and alfredfx had made the jump to a new brand.
it work pretty well for me and I am finding more ppl here D_L, hmloo thinking of it.

there are other independent brands out there. I have make attempts to list them on page 1 post 1. get the chance go thru it.

patryn, do you mean the Buffalo?  How to check if it will fit my watch?  Did you install it yourself?
yes its Buffalo
measure the lug size?
here is a page on how to check and do that
http://www.thewatchprince.com/What-Size-Watch-Band

I install it myself. just buy a tool to do it.
I wanted a tool if my buckle is signed, I want to be able to remove it and put it on a new band.

I own a Tissot PRC200 (automatic version). Generally good watch, not much complain on Tissot watches generally. My uncle owns a Tissot (automatic version) too and it's more than 30 years old now, still running. My advice is get an automatic watch instead of quartz, better durability and has second hand value compared to quartz generally. The Tissot PRC200 picture you've posted is the quartz version I believe.
*
ya it got to be a quartz version. pic look just like the link below
http://www.amazon.com/Tissot-Mens-T17-1-58...h/dp/B000L3CHC0

for a Tissot the 2nd hand value is alittle better than a quartz, but if u do look at the real number U maybe losing more $$.
entry level watches resale value usually not there esp for a mass produce Tissot.

a PRC 200 auto chrono would have retail at ~US$795.00 even with 30% off thats still ~1.8K rm more than what he can afford.

@ franson, do u want to get a Chrono and look cool... or a simple plain auto?

@patryn33: thanks for your reply. Seems TISSOT has less complaints comparing to TITUS, I think I would go for this TISSOT PRC200. and currently I still loving Chrono watch  smile.gif
*
Titus is a swiss name but today its owned by Hong Kong. watch maybe made in China.
I would stay away from Titus.

enjoy your Tissot PRC200! or maybe U should check out CW nearly new maybe can get for ~RM500-700! 60 days return policy and 60 mth warranty can't beat that!

juz wanna ask u guys a question here...i was very close to order a CW when suddenly my gf bought me this..doxa..is it good in terms of movement, accuracy etc...juz wanna enjoy it more as i never read bout doxa here..
not sure about their line up in Asia. can't go wrong with a workhorse ETA 2824. don't have to worry about build quality here.
movement grade maybe better or equal to CW. but I am sure Doxa decorate their movement unlike CW.

they are famous of these kinda of diver watch the one your gf bought isn't what they are renown for. the cult in watchuseek etc are all about the below watches.

yeah...what does out of stock means? i dont mind paying but waiting...with 40-50% discount, nothing to complain about...
I think the start on 1st Jul, 12 hrs into the sale about 70-80% watches are out of stock = sold out!

Doxa is more popular in N. America than the rest of the world.
Seiko Monster at that price pt of US$250+, I say it maybe the very popular in the rest of the world.
ppl may love a Doxa but at US$1.2K an up Seiko Orange Monster is definitely alot more affordable. tongue.gif

there should be more Orange Monster sold vs Doxa.
esp there are orange monster that are made in SG/Msia

prolly the history of the watch itself...
i guess its all about myself, i prefer complicated but not sophisticated watch...
i'll go for something sporty instead of classy...

Pam complicated? 2-3hands watch are complicated??
the history? its more advertising than anything. if U are to buy watches due to their history U can find lots of good deal. esp Longines
Pam? back in 1990-1995 prices are way low, even after u adjusted for inflation!

am in dilemma....Sinn is cheaper by USD 100 but the discount by Fortis is massive...almost 50%....

so value for money in terms of price...Fortis

value for money in terms of name/technology...Sinn..
Oops.. I didn't put much research into Sinn Tech for that watch..
lets take a 2nd look.

Fortis B-42 Diver Gmt Series Men's Watch 650.10.12M
- ETA 2893-2
- 44mm brushed stainless steel case
- Sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on both sides
- Brushed stainless steel bracelet with fold-over deployment clasp with safety latch
- Water / pressure resistant to 200 meters (20 ATM)
- Screwdown see thru case back (mineral Glass)

Sinn 857 UTC Tegimented on Strap
- ETA 2893-2
- 43mm Tegimented case
- Solid case back
- Antimagnetic: 80,000 A/m
- Water / pressure resistant to 200 meters (20 ATM)
- sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on both sides.

I have to say given the specs. Fortis is over charging, its not really value for money.
Sinn 857 would be value for money for US$100 cheaper u are getting Antimagnetic and Tegimented case.

what is the Ball GMT model? any specs? U looking at GMT now? giving up on Pwr Res?

only the chopard LUC collection is using inhouse movement.
the rest uses ETA.
the LUC collection does cost more. its pretty normal for a inhouse movement in a steel watch to cost at that kind of price range.

thats already sold.the diver still around and its for ~us$1390.
I like the blue hands and the white dial design but the 7750 isn't decorated.
I bet its the same grade as my Hamilton. not Top just Elaborated.
Guinand offer a cheaper deal, plus its 7750 is decorated with blue screws.
their series 20 do have blue hands, the color is similar to JLC blue.
