I am glad I got u hooked on mechanical watches!
U'll love Stowa more. do note unlike CW watches don't ship in 1 week time. mostly 2-3mths later since they are build to order. some watches esp LE type ppl have been waiting for more than 1yr still not seen their watch. hopefully over the weekend U find time to show some nice pics! I bet Leon|| is looking forward to your pics and review. iirc Leon|| is still waiting on the nearly new or new if still cannot get. This post has been edited by patryn33: Jun 17 2010, 11:17 PM |

QUOTE(alfredfx @ Jun 27 2010, 08:31 PM) 1. havent tested the lume. will update. winding part - if u wear it on Friday and didn't wind it for 20+ turns b4 setting it down.2. accuracy. cant really notice the variation ..... i think +/- 10sec 3. strap seems easy to get spoil 4. have to wear it everyday otherwise have to wind it. please advice on the winding part. i wore it mon-fri and din wear on sat and it stop moving on sun.. so i have to wind it ... is that normal ? depending when U check it on Sunday, it is normal to see it stop. the power reserve on a fully winded 2824 is ~38-40hrs. so if u count Friday evening at 6pm to Sunday morning say 9am. thats 6 + 24 + 9 or 39hrs. 20 turn does not guarantee it to be fully wind too. u got to listen to the clicks when u wind, when U hear a certain clicking sound it tells u its fully wind and that clicking sound is the sound of the preventive mech kicking in to prevent over wind. regarding strap. its easy to change. measure the size and order a nice one! my suggestion is get the Hirsch Buffalo. its treated and can take normal water abuse not swimming. swimming U can try Runner collection http://www.watchstyle.com/pd219013043.htm?...L}&categoryId=9 http://www.watchstyle.com/pi1794558589.htm?categoryId=9 This post has been edited by patryn33: Jun 27 2010, 10:09 PM |

QUOTE(LeaSe*lineR @ Jun 28 2010, 12:57 AM) me oso dunno la.. seem like most of the entry level Orient are non hacking and can't manual windsome of the Orient Star are hacking and can manual wind all Orient Royal hack and can manual wind. I read there has been a movement to change Orient Star and maybe entry level movement to all hacking and manual wind. like the pwr res diver watch. just read an article on true diving watch. - dial should be in yellow (visible in murky water) - 120 clicks on bezel. - etc.. I should find out more and post it on post 1. |
