Ok.. another last FS hunt bfr cny. tongue.gif
Went to check out another FS hunting area which is about 5 mins drive from my housing area.
Ya..lotsa FS hunting spot nearby my housing area..alwys tempted to go hunt FS laugh.gif

Its located at Keramat AU 2B/1, behind the septic pond, nearby empty land car park and football field.
Actually went to this hunting spot nearby 2 hunt fs many years ago but only hunt outside beside the football field.
Once stepped further into the green lungs.. its a very big area with lotsa yam, nipah, wild pepper, etcs leaves.. good for FS to thrives & populates.
Can get lost if wander too far deep coz its kinda like a forest. I think only cover about 20% of this area coz didn't went further because dark liao.. sweat.gif

Proven FS hunting spot? hmm.gif

Check the pics & videos rolleyes.gif

The biggest fs caught at the end of the video. icon_rolleyes.gif

Think its the combination of gradient, FS charging speed & strong wind.

Dpds type and size of the insects.. not sure abt ur spider coz different type of thiania subspecies.

For normal T-bha...it will eat for few 2-3 mins only and drop off its food unless hungry maybe eat longer abit
but for chopster type T-bha will eat much longer about 20 - 30 min+

Normal T-bha normally just kill off other ghost spider if feel threaten.. if eat also just suck from abd, legs or arms..

Maybe ur Armstrong get bitten when try to eat other big spider...

Hi,

I'm a new kid on the block from Singapore. Wishing everyone a Happy Lunar New Year!

This spider jumped on my car while I was parked near some bushes. Can anyone help me to identify if its a fighting spider? it looks similar but the abdomen lacks the typical stripes.

Thanks to Bro Jason for providing us such a hilarious account of the Jan 2014 HK hunting trip!
Indeed each photo carries a sense of humor of its own.. rclxms.gif
It is really a heartwarming sight seeing so many SG/Msia brothers committing your previous time for a spider activity overseas!
Bro Xarms must be really glad too. And I don't think there's many other such hardcore FS enthusiast like us in SG/Msia! thumbup.gif to us.
Well.. for the next trip i hope the size of the group to fly over will be even bigger! nod.gif

Below are some macro-shots taken of the FS Gifts generously given by our fellow brothers:

*P.S.
Bro Jason, i really couldn't agree more with this sentence you said:
"Well, that only prove one thing, we get stronger outside and inside of this forum regardsless of what each other said because a family will still be a family irregards of occasional uneasy comments."

Thanks Bro for being the peacemaker too, and other Bros who helped as well, i'm really thankful and grateful for it.. notworthy.gif notworthy.gif notworthy.gif

Back in early Dec, one fine day after having FS bouts with fellow bros at Adam Park. Bro Jong and I decided to go Botanic Garden to hunt for FS, casually.
"Accidentally" found a new subspecies there(but not totally new as Bro Mindstorm and Bro Viper had probably seen it in Msia).

Named it as the T.Bee species as the patterns/stripes does resemble a bumble bee. Caught this T.Bee FS on the 13th Dec as a juvenile at first.

He/she has since moulted twice under captive. Should be a subadult in its penultimate instar now.

Thanks to Bro Evan who found this link, this species is probably documented with drawings at least:
http://salticidae.org/salticid/diagnost/pselcis/latifasc.htm

On the 17th Dec, made an appointment to hunt with Bro Evan and brought him to the T.Bee spot again.
Upon reaching there, he found a T.Bee sling supposedly but lost it as it really escaped fast.
Not expecting anything special while scanning around, we were surprisingly awarded with the Adult T.Bee Pair of considerable sizes!

The T.Bee Male, named as Bombus.

Videoed a fight between two T.Bee males. Not really fighting though. Weird fighting stances and reactions too.
But the area where this species thrives, proved to be quite a promising spot with traces of slings, juveniles, subadults and some adult females as we continued to check up the area more thoroughly.

Gonna wait few more months before we can catch 2 decent T.Bee males and fight them properly.. brows.gif

Just for laugh...
