This forum is like an avenue to talk about my adventure and is also like a diary.  

After hearing sweet retired aunty's comments, I did look into the longkang..i mean canal and saw a type of water plant called elodia (not sure of spelling) growing wild there.
She probably meant harvesting the water plant for sale and such water plants can be found at MacRitchie reservoir in large quantity.

PreviouslyI did isolated 2 good sized FS for 2 weeks hoping they rule the FS world. They did not and instead they turned chop.

As such, I think FS must fight about 3-4 days once and have a GF to prevent them turning chop.  I am currently testing ToothAche with a new girlfriend every few days.

I have not caught any brothers FS before.  When I was a kid, my neighbour claimed to have a pair.  I do not remember whether they are real brothers in the sense that they will not fight each other.

Someone in this forum also has a pair of brothers FS. But I can't remember who.

You fought your FS for so many rounds? Must be pretty naughty then.

The male in Couple FS tends to be quite large and good fighter. The reason is quite simple.  Which female spider will want to live with a male which cannot protect her?

I have caught a number of couples in my kid days.  Usually my 1st king come from here.

Yes, I agree with Randy that the two males may live together because they are too lazy to find another place.

There is a total of 3 matches between 1 Piece and ToothAche. The record stands at 2-1 to Toothache. 

On 17 March 2012, hunted and found a new spot in Nirvana by the 'river'. Caught 3 tiny males from here:-

Was also happy to see a 'cherry blossom' tree in Nirvana without having to travel to Japan.

1. Hope that toothache can regain his form.
2. Immortal KU2's bite is lethal. The FS first to bite is critical. If the bite is deep, painful and just won't let go,  it is not easy for the injured FS to counter-attack. Some Injured FS will try to wriggle the way out, some injured FS will just bite back with all its might-an eye for an eye. Such battles often results in heavy injuries for both sides and will needs sometime to heal.

The event of this Sunday must surely be the gathering of Fs Kakis at Lorong Lew Lian for a mass friendly non-title fight.

Present were Bros Ricky, Rudy, Ken, Ah Kim, Ah Chiew, Uncle Hulk Hogan, Ravin (welcome Bro) me and think got 1 more of Ah Kim's friend.

The opening fight was already a recommended fight.

I wish to thank Bro Ah Kim for the Hong Kong Sub-adults. Strangely Bro Ah Kim came back with Sub-adults and not a single male.

I thought that all the FS in the surrounding areas from the December batch would have moulted in the wild to L and XL sized males.

Mojo2011, how long have you ever kept a FS? For me, I think it is 2-3 wks.

Me too. Hobby ends around Sec 1.  Things which I learn coming to this forum are:
1. The scientic name for our FS is Thiania Bhamoensis.
2. Spiders moult.  When I was a kid, those sub-adults are BIG females.
3. Spiders can live for months. Indeed, Ura did tell me that he has a female one which is more than 2 years. Hope that he will be back soon with updates.
4. Another close relative species to our FS is Thiania Suboppressa

oh, we never use "ong lai". we use "kim".
Lam = blue spiders tend to be favorite during my times.

yea utility 47, wasabi fought 5 round straight cause the fight are not bloodied or furious type so can still carry on. comando will be released due to his age. Big sub seems to be a potential good fighter but too bad he has to be released too cause one of his arm was bitten off by the bu in his nest, didnt realise the bu was pregnant. wasabi bit off as many as 2 of his opponent's leg in that 2 days. hope he will enjoy his days as a warrior in sg.

Once again, 1 Piece ooze class and strength. I thought he retired last week but Bro Rudy somehow kept him strong and fit and a champion again and again. To me, 1 Piece is the ultimate fighter who outlast many other FS for his 3 months plus healthy and strong existence. Surely he ranks  at the very top of my hall of fame, even surpassing any of my own FS. Congrats.   

One interesting point is that there were more than 60 fights this weekend alone. Thanks to all participants.

LoL vs Fearless was an exciting fight. 

Yea..Bro Mindstorm also said its a T-sub because of white hairy face, stripes pattern and striking stripes even on its legs.

I caught Giant Bu at Cheras LookOut Point together with a male FS inside same nest. Its stripe pattern more curve downwords especially towards abdomen tip unlike the normal straight lines. The male FS have shinning pale green colour stripes look n like a medium size T-bha male but much smaller than the Giant Bu.

Giant Bu is the largest and also the heaviest among the FS i caught bfr.

As posted earlier... the easiest way is see the pedipalps.. if swollen its a male..  if flat its a female.
Can see direct from top, front  or side view using own eyes.

Another option is place the subadult FS on leaf for awhile and remove it. Later place an adult male fs onto the same leaves..
See the male fs reaction.. if its like in frantic excited mood, leg standing high and searching around.. means it sense a female FS around.
Female FS have their pheromones traces left on the leaf and it will attract male fs by making them more alert and active.

If the adult male fs just walk / ran around the same leave like normal... means.. the earlier subadult FS is a male.

Some FS kakis put their King male FS into empty female FS nest to make it excited 1st so will be more aggresive in fight later on.

Or another way is see under the fs abdomen from see through case.. the female FS will have a small hole/opening

The FS sizes are quite big. Are they T Bha species? They look like the mangrove swamp species which was posted by mindstorm.
