The requirement and standard for this Citi Visa Signature card are totally unacceptable. doh.gif

Quite ironic ... a couple of posts ago I said CL requirement too low people complain no class. Too high also people complain coz cannot apply the card. Sigh blink.gif

huh, is it so? the available balance will increase? last time i read the thread, forumers say the available balance for 12 mths(example) will be the same leftover credit limit from the beginning. or is it applied to 2nd situation only?
*
Actually it depends on the bank.
Some banks policy is to release the CL back and some withheld it until you completely pay.

My advise if you could not recover the CL until you finish paying to take it as a sign not to increase debt. (It is a good thing also) I don't understand why people making a fuss about this question coz it has been asked many times.

My goodness ... can you not suggest this!
Yourself is a card holder, did you bother to read the T&C? If you did, probably you are aware of the possible consequences.

1 more question..MBB Credit Card require 30k per annum which mean 2.5k per month..let say my basic only 2k, but every month I got more than 2.5k bank in to my account..will bank calculate my income is more than 2.5k? or bank will ignore and just see my basic salary?  hmm.gif
*
The better way to phrase it as not to confuse anyone ...
"MBB Credit Card require 30k income per annum which mean 2.5k income per month". (key word here is income)

Your savings is certainly not monthly or annual income and would not be factored in the calculations.

anyway, called the bank and gst has to offset with points and annual fee can waive...

oh yeah, my friend want to cancel uob card because of gst then bank offer give cash back if swuope few usage in a month and increase credit limit if she keep the card le.. other bank why no follow uob de...
*
Do understand GST need to pay gov. If consumers refuse to pay then who you think is paying ? It is the bank. Bank has to get back the RM50 somehow la ... so they assume customers will use their cards. And like any other commercial entity ... they need to recover this somehow. I am quite upset that many come in here and ask how to cancel this charge ... if you really hate this charge then don't use credit card. Gov will definitely not get any money from you. But let's be practical living in the new age - if you want it then be prepared to pay for it. Freebies means something is being compromised or someone else is paying for you.

No other bank want to follow UOB coz they practice better risk management policy to protect themselves from risky customers. Just look @ the number of forummers here who say they need to do BT or have huge cc debts. Part of the cause is high CL and don't know how to control spending habits.

Other banks don't want to follow UOB fine and they are smart not to be taken in by your friend's threat to cancel tactic.

Sigh ...

Do consider that a lot of people read this thread to get information. It doesn't help many post all sort of confusing statements which is not very accurate. Post something which is based on fact ... not heresay or you assume it is correct. Be responsible for the information that you post coz this involves personal finance.

It is not funny anymore if someone get burned by reading the wrong info here.

This morning I called Eon Bank to request temporary increase my credit limit..the agent said can be increase 30% of my credit limit, then I said ok..please proceed..but when I try to use 1 hour later, the terminal show "do not honor"..what la Eon Bank..

After that I call again, she said they cannot increase my limit..lol..
*
Credit limit increase are normally approved by another department. CS/Agent do not have the authority to approve this request.
Even if you call Citibank it is the same thing (Despite them advertising this feature openly). Request and approval for temporary CL is done by different department + bear in mind temporary CL only last for 30 days.

You need to pay off the excess CL used in your next bill + 5% of what you original CL. If you don't do this means you defaulted on your payment. Aha ... not so simple after all right ? There's a reason banks often deny this CL increase coz customers may not understand this part.

Did you receive a letter from SCB recently? I received the letter stating they will give me free 11,000 points if I swipe my JustOne cc 3 times in June. While awaiting the free 11,000 points to be deposited into my account, I need to utilise my own 10,000 points first to redeem the RM50 service tax. In the end, I still get free 1,000 points.
*
I didn't get any letter about this. SCB replied my email saying they will reset the rebate on 1st July. Guess we will know it later whether rebate system still exist or not.

Fastest would be 1 business day. Reasonable time would be 2-3 working days.
Bro, today is Saturday. Means, if you are very lucky ... Monday evening. Otherwise Tuesday or Wednesday. Worst you don't get it.

I suggest you don't hope for it. Even myself have very low success rate with this facility.
Don't get angry ... actually you shouldn't have even factored in this facility.

Yes ... that's the minimum payment. (Assuming you use all the way to 4K) Still want to use temp CL increase ?
BTW ... this is the same across all banks.

Petronas has no authority to do that, is a credit card and your competitor customer come and pump fuel, isn't that a compliment? laugh.gif
*
Got nothing to do with Petronas. (Don't confuse people with incorrect info) Just something wrong with the terminal and station lazy to check it out and just give this lame excuse. If the same situation happen to let's say in a department store (e.g Isetan) - then Petronas don't allow card to be used @ department store ? (Can use only @ petrol pump) Unlikely right ....

Can banks change card benefits package like that?  Has it happened before?
*
From my perspective, banks can do whatever they want - customers just need to be alert to this and react accordingly.
JustOne technically does not exist anymore in SCB's active line - well at least they no longer issue this card to new applicants. Probably this is the only card in Malaysia which has seen less than 6 months for public application and then close.

I'm holding the Citibank Clear Card, the rewards point is kinda sleepy, I have to use over RM 22,000 just to get the cheapest voucher of RM 100, which means it's around 0.5%. While Cashback is giving back cash around 0.2-2% depend on what you use. Is it a smarter choice to get Cashback? I like the design of Clear Card because it's translucent, while Cashback card design is bland.
*
Allow me to put forward this question ... appearance is more important than functionality ?
If appearance is your choice then Clear card would be best suited for you.

Hi Everyone,

Noob here. i just apply for CIMB VI and WMC. normally how long does this takes and how did i know my application has been approved? the bank will call or they just sent the card to my mailing address? coz i use my hometown address and affraid they will just sent it there without notifying me. anyone experince with this?

thanks!
*
Noob ? You must be kidding us if you are applying for the CIMB VI and WMC.
Duration of application approval depends on your luck and you'll know whether you are successful within 1 week. You need to call bank to check on this but please don't do it earlier than 1 week after you submit to the bank. (Not agent ah ... agent then plus 1 week more) Card will be sent to your mailing address (whatever it is that you wrote on yr application form) ... what are you thinking ? You should have used an address which you want to receive the card. Good luck!

What are the differences between "Outstanding Payment Balance" and "Full Payment Due"?

Outstanding Statement Balance: 825.49
Minimum Payment: 92.00
Full Payment Due: 1825.49
So which figure I have to pay to settle my credit card?
*
Full Payment Due ... that's what immediate need to be cleared with the bank. (Countercheck ... your 5% is about RM92 only. 100% should be about RM1800. Matches your Outstanding amount right ?)

Outstanding Statement Balance is your dues from previous months ... easy did you always pay in full or there's are months you only pay a portion of the amount ?

You better get new friends. All cc can be used overseas as long as they carry VISA, MASTERCARD or AMEX logo.

I do not know when is the shell card launched but they waived for 1st year only.. I just called them few days ago after received my bill and saw they charged me for annual fees sad.gif
I called the centre in fact talked to 2 person and they also said can't wAived sad.gif

Anyway for them to waived it? Otherwise I really want to cancel the card
*
Please ... just cancel the card. I really can't understand why you die die want to keep the card but yet want it to be free. If the bank don't want to give it to you then just cancel it! Don't take me wrongly but cc products come and go and there are even better cc products today which give better rebates than your Shell card.

Not too sure about 7-11 but there was once at Giant, my friend was told the minimum amount is RM10. Popular bookstore is RM20, if my memory serves me correctly. There are also many family-run supermarket/hypermarket that impose a minimum limit for purchase paid by card.
Supposedly there shouldn't be any problem. May be you can try with other banks ?
*
This is the first time I am hearing that our 7-11 accept credit card. If it is really true then good news!

*
Incorrect. The business owner will need to pay between 2%-3% for whatver amount that is charged using credit card. And there is also the terminal rental charges.

Where did you hear all this weird info bro ?

still no news from this eon bank at all... application langsung tak ada record after 2 weeks plus.. this bank really poor in service
*
I am sure you are not new to cc promotions right ? I am sure by now you will know that not all promotions will be published in the website.
What is important is that the agent is able to show B&W of the promo ... and not just using their mouth. This reduces the probability of a false promo.

And EON Bank ... didn't you got so excited about this bank in the beginning coz you like the card so much ? Now changed your mind ?

guy, pls enlighten me.

i am doing my first time online shopping with my maybank credit card, i  registered my card to MSOS also.

nows the question is, when i place my order and payment, the website requested me to fill in card name, card number, expired date and the Security code also (last 3digit), is it safe to fill in the last 3 digit code??

and why i no need to fill in password that i have already registered  in MSOS?

thanks
*
1st question ... which website are you buying things from ? This is an important question but we don't need to know what are you buying.
2nd ... not all website will ask for MSOS.
3rd ... 99% of website will ask for your CVV. Even though you are MSOS or equivalent. MSOS provides an additional layer of security but it is not meant to replace CVV.
