Frankly speaking ... I'm considering the new Citibank Plat Cash Back is due to the cool new design ... I'm kindof tired of the boring "Platinum" design theme that most banks use for their Plat cards.

I don't think Citibank's cash back is that bad. Alliance Bank's card is OK but I hated the tiered system and I always pray not needing to call CS as if I'm not mistaken the after office hours shift offers only basic support. Other banks Cash Back system are just to complicated to understand.

Plus they offer enough incentive to hook you up so technically there's minimum risk of you signing up. You don't like the card ... just walk away after a few months.

Can we please keep this thread clean ?
This is a cc discussion thread and not a place for 1. CC application request 2. Agents/bank staff to look for potential clients.

Last note to everyone .... next time, such post will be reported nor tolerated.

If it will be something like CIMB/DA World MC then we should forget it. It has to be something with features better than or similiar to SCB VI.
*
Yup ... agreed. The CIMB/DA version is quite pathetic despite it being a "premium" cc.

guys,i am not really know about credit card how to use it n wanna ask some something..  i c some outlet n can help us to make installment payback to bank but must be need certain bank their only can help do. Let say,if my credit card bank is not under they list how to make for pay for installment? izzit need i contact the bank make by myself n would the bank allow me pay installment if i ask them to do so?
*
OK ... normally merchants would need to do "tie-ins" with bank to provide installment scheme. Bigger shops often have just about all the banks in the list and smaller ones only a few banks.

If your card is not under the list, you can't just call the bank and ask to convert to installments. It doesn't work that way.
Only a few banks offers such scheme namely (I may miss a few) ... DA, SCB and a few others. Do note that although it is call 0% EZ installments, the bank will charge you a fee (of a certain %) on top of your purchase for the installment conversion.

Just in case you didn't know ... this fee exist either way. Had your card is accepted for the installment .. it is the merchant that pays. The price of the item had already factored in the installment price.

Pay lump sum ... there is no way to make it installment. I have already stated clearly you can't simply convert to installment.

Agreed SCB VI benefits is more attractive within the premium CC range.
However, it is not open for public application anymore.
Reserved only for their Priority Banking customers(RM250,000 or above deposit/investment needed, or secured a home loan with RM800,000 above loan amount)
Not sure with the latest info, maybe already changed??? Do correct me if I am wrong.

Maybe.... Just maybe.... it is not a foreign bank????
Anyhow the launch of the card is still not yet confirm.
We shall wait and see.........

SCB haven't changed its stand on VI ... still not open to public application anymore.
Hope that new card won't be coming from MBB or RHB (or any banks with substandard service standards) smile.gif

BSN will launch their platinum CC this coming July and they claim that the card will have great benefits.
We shall wait and see.......

Interesting marketing pitch but historically BSN was never one of the mainstream cc providers in Malaysia.
Will give it the benefit of doubt and see what will they offer in July.

lol you look down on BSN then. But then better don't apply BSN.... later paying got problem. One number need 1 hour to settle
*
The more important element when using credit card is customer service. (At least this is my personal opinion/preference) You will need their help if something happens e.g lost credit card, overseas transactions, fraud, transactions dispute, etc. That's why I'm not too crazy about cards from e.g AEON just because you will get more Jusco points. The extras are nothing compared to the hassle should you encounter problems with your cc account.

To give the benefit of the doubt ... there's not many BSN cc holders out there. Same goes for Bank Rakyat as well ... I'm not crazy about this card as well.

Paying credit card can be done via IBG ... no need queue. Pay the IBG fee is better than waiting for 1 hour to settle.

Omg ... I didn't submit before the public bank new credit card that gave 15 % cash back. Now they sms me and ask me to collect my new card .. can I don't collect the card guy ? I cannot afford to pay that RM50 and I think someone use my info .. sad.gif
*
If you are certain your info has been misused by the bank, do report it to the bank and BNM. Don't tolerate this as it undermines the security of your personal information which is supposed to be guaranteed by the banks/BNM. Normally done by those agents crazy to meet their quota or opportunists.

I had experienced this before and the bank caught their personnel who did this. I received a personal apology and the person was seriously reprimanded. Since then I noticed the bank had no more such nonsense coz their staff must have been severely warned or face immediate termination.

*
They can't openly say (publicize) that they give RM50 to offset the gov tax. Else, some other banks will complain. Do use the info in this forum as guide as if you search through their website, you won't find such info.

BTW ... they were the first to come up with an offer for the current tax and their first to be reprimanded.

Let's put it this way. SC already expected this to happen and if not, they wouldn't have launched the product wouldn't they ?
Plus they have an annual cap, so damage is limited.

i approached the citibank salesman in Penang Queensbay mall and asked about the new plat cash back card. They are not very sure whether existing citibank credit card customers can get the RM60 cash back when their plat cash back card is approved. It sounds like they need clarification from Citibank HQ
*
Existing Citibank cc customers would not be entitled to the RM60 rebate. It is written in the T&C which Citibank send to their customers via e-mail.

Those canceled and re-apply within 3 months are not eligible.
*
Not only that ... if you cancel the card today, likely the bank would not re-admit you back as a customer for the next couple of months.
Please don't think of cancelling and reapplying the card just because of promos ... the banks are one step ahead of you. icon_idea.gif

AMBank .... hahahahaha!
I generally do not have a good opinion about this bank being a previous customer. Used their cc before as well and you get what you asked for which is just plain credit card. Privileges are standard .... nothing to talk or shout about.

Bro ... are you going on a cc collection spree ? Sounds like you are since you asking for just about almost all cc.

Do survey for something that you want bro. There's no point doing what you are doing right now if you are just fooling around. Using cc is not a game.

Hi guys, I have a quick question.

So I finally decided to apply for credit card from several banks, but I am not sure if it's wise because they mention that the RM50 tax will be incurred on the first cycle of bill. So right now I'll be applying for credit cards from 4 different banks just to increase the odds of approval.

My question is, will I be allowed to turn down the credit card offer, just in case?

Thanks.
*
My sincere answer to you is not to do so, do apply one by one. Or if you are in a hurry max 2 @ any one time.

Couple of reasons
1. Some banks auto activate the card and send it to you meaning while there's still a possibility you can cancel the offer (or not), you have to go through a lot of hassle to do so.
2. Some banks the moment they see more than 3 applications under processing (READ 'under processing' status), they will reject your applications. I'm sure you don't this to happen as well.

Hi guys, thanks again for the replies. I'm thinking of applying classic master card from AmBank, RHB, CIMB or HSBC. Don't know which of these are more lenient in terms of application approval, but since I'm kind of in a rush to get a credit card (for some purposes), it has to be done by the end of next week. Any advice?
*
And if you need it by end of next week. Good luck to that.
As earlier mentioned ... forgo HSBC coz they are not lenient and in fact they are the toughest of the entire cc providers. And RHB also - super slow, last time it took them 2 months before they send me the card. So your choice is clear ... try AMBank or CIMB.

Thank you for reiterating my negative stand on Aeon card. I really hate it if someone were to come in here and ask for a review in this card. If they read the previous post - they would know this is the one card to avoid at all cost!

Yes I agree. But that depends also on how well you argued your case and availability of evidence.
No supportive evidence to back up your case then it is as good as nothing - remember we don't live in a world where you could really trust each other without question.
