i know. i still like e36 328i and e36 m3 3.2

and oh, an old E36 M3 smoked my golf gti like no tomorrow in plus highway last time; corners and straight sweat.gif

QUOTE(xtracooljustin @ Nov 24 2011, 01:23 PM)
Reason for doing so?
*
reasons to swapped to nissan engine?
cheaper roadtax, more power, easier maintenance.
i dont really support it though

Shall i buy my fren 10 yr old 3 series? bout 50k + in market value, or go to 5 year 2nd hand ford focus near to 80k?

first car of my life. Not dreaming own new cars, but this 2 is my dream car tou. =)
*
that's E46 pre facelift. if you have extra for maintenance, then it's good. 318 or 325?

assuming you are talking both about the post 2009 FL version, the 325i comes with Sport version with 18" rims, sports suspension, i drive etc.

the engine in the 335i in its initial stage had lots of problems with the high pressure fuel pump, many cars equipped with the 3litre turbo had to be recalled but i'm sure BMW has fixed all of em now la... hopefully sweat.gif

yeah 330i and 530i's are pretty rare, guess most malaysians don't like to pay 2.3k for their roadtax laugh.gif

and no la not swapping it. my e60 mileage is all highway miles  blush.gif

bmw z4 either with the 2.5engine or the 3litre.
*
have they not solved the HPFP issues with the N54 in the 335i?

If I'm not mistaken, the LCI 335i are all using the N55 instead of the N54

ran with the LCI 335i during the last innovation days, almost no turbo lag whilst the pre LCI 335i the lag was quite noticeable

which ride do you have? I've got a pre LCI e90 330i, thinkin of taking the F10 535i, but am concerned bout the EPS steering, apparently it's lost the feel of the wheel =(

hmm i'm pretty sure they have solved the hpfp issues.

hmmm it seems the 528i is the last 3 liter naturally aspirated engine they provide in the f10 sad.gif

guys, my dad and i are about to buy one for each of us. he found this e38 730il v8.. we've tested it and yup, the power is obvious. the car is in tip top condition. what i want to know is the engine.. that 3.0 v8 engine. do any of you guys have any idea about the engine? the major problems?

mine i just look at the 523i e39. its 2.5 with double vanos. manuf in 1999, registered in 03.

please let me know what do u guys think of these two cars. thank you.. my dad's been driving his 730il e32 for 11yrs already. maybe its time to change.

thanks!

I heard the new beemers won't be 6 potters anymore... gonna be 2.0l 4inline turbocharged.....
*
QUOTE(DrBarbarian @ Aug 29 2011, 12:29 PM)
f10 528i will be fitted with the 4 potter turbocharged 2.0L engine in Sept onwards rite?
*
QUOTE(tishaban @ Aug 29 2011, 05:40 PM)
So again from what I read everything will be turbocharged with the F30 3-series from the start.

320i = inline-4 turbo, 184hp/270Nm, 0-100 in 7.4 seconds
328i = inline-4 turbo at higher tune 245hp/350Nm, 0-100 in ~6 seconds
335i = inline-6 turbo 300hp/400Nm 0-100 in ~5 seconds

There will probably no longer be a 323i or 330i. The higher end will be turbo V8 and the lower end below the 320i like the 316i and 318i will be turbo inline-3 (Kancil's cousin? biggrin.gif )

The F10 5-series will probably follow very quickly, abandoning the non-turbo inline-6 for turbo inline-4 engines.

I was at Auto Bavaria today .... they aren't selling the 523i and and 3.0L 528i anymore .... the replacements are the 2.0L 520i and the 2.0L 528i M Sport.

Latest F10 5-Series model range:
520i - 2.0L inline-4 turbo, 184hp/270Nm, 0-100 in 8.0 seconds, RM 358,800 (OTR without insurance)
528i M Sport - 2.0L inline-4 turbo tuned higher to 245hp/350Nm, 0-100 in ~6.3 seconds, RM 409,800 (OTR without insurance)
535i - 3.0L inline-6 turbo 306hp/400Nm 0-100 in ~6.1 seconds, RM 598,800 (OTR without insurance)

Changed my 5iver's tires not to long ago to Dunlop sport LM703 tires filled with Nitrogen icon_idea.gif

235/40r18 front

245/45r18 rear

car has done almost 900km ( to and fro pg-kl ) and even tried a little "fast" driving on windy mountain roads and i come to report that they are really worth it.
The grip is excellent and the grip in the rain is good

Ditched the original Run flat tires for this lm703 and i have no regrets thumbup.gif or at least so far laugh.gif

shop quoted me rm1.8k for ONE RFT tire, changed all my tires with lm703 for only rm2.7k wub.gif
