The Avatar from US are packed with 1 bluray & 1 dvd.

For audio sake, I am wondering is it worth our precious time to rewind the whole film in dvd Dolby Digital 5.1 just to test out the LFE which has no filtered out at 25Hz hmm.gif ?

Anyone already tested out? Or you dun bother to watch in standard definition as its PQ is so much inferior.....

actually I listen to a cannon demo before by a friend in his car with DLS setup and a twin 12" sub at the back. The fire power cannon is like Wowwwww, something really make your hair behind your neck stand up. U know what I mean....

I remember the CD was a Chesky records. Maybe is Tchaikovsky - 1812 Overture. I cant remember for sure.

http://www.avrev.com/music-disc-reviews/dv...2-overture.html
So recording and reproduce fire power is possible. There is a WARNING on the disc.

"Caution! DSD Cannons!"
" With its live cannons and astonishing dynamic range, it quickly became the ultimate demo disc – and the ultimate test for a home sound system."

"This recording is an astonishing achievement, both technically and logistically. It sounds excellent; the performance is fine and flawless, especially the children’s choir and the Kiev chorus; the surround placement consists of sensible arcs across a wide front stage, with the cannons all around you to great effect. You will want to use this disc as a demo record, but if you do, first be sure to find out what level the cannons should be, starting at low level – they really are very loud and take full advantage of the hundred-and-something dB of dynamic range offered by both systems. It is one of the best recordings I have the pleasure of owning."
Anyone own this demo disc?

Is it Telarc?

My bro has a Telarc CD with part of Tchaikovsky's 1812 in it. Tested it before. Amazing power.

jchong has put a link here before; Finale 4. It's a recording of firework displays. Very good to test subwoofer.

Just sharing some trivia here ..... that clip is known as Amazing Life and is the latest take on THX's proprietory audio clip called "Deep Note".

It was awesome in DTS-HD MA at reference level! drool.gif

Will try it out tomorrow with PB13-Ultra but dare not at reference level. At -12dB (Indy Jones BD), it is already overpowering the whole room with its immense air pressure sweat.gif

Only Dolby Surround, Spanish, French DD5.1....NO English DD5.1

Do you guys think sound engineers from dts have any influence whatsoever on the filer issue? So far, only DTS-HD master audio format is affected, wonder Dolby TrueHD is on the same boat.

Why would you buy the 25Hz filer BD version now when you can get the better version later with the same price?

Maybe i misunderstood or something but somebody told me they will release a 'better' version later?

And why would you pay to own a BD player & a huge sub and speaker if the content cannot be fully utilized when you have a complete BD HT?

Isn't BD is all about lossless?

I agree that there shd be no filtering, that was my argument from the start. However, as some pointed out in this thread, they don't care about the filtering.

So if people don't complain abt it to Fox, my point is why shd there remove the filter.

Bottom line, even if u don't hv the BD yet, voice out if u r concerned that his will be a future trend.

My humble opinion is it will be in the 3D version which has 3D for TV or 3D for projectors only.. whuaa ha ha ha ha

just my 2 cents.... because I know JC wants the movie in 3D, funny the BD 3D is not release yet. So I suspect he is putting something ULTIMATE in the 3D version.

I'm sorry, but u're missing the point. Good for JC if he wants to filter to make people buy the 3D version without the filtering, but its bad for the consumer.

Anyway, if it matters to u, then try to get the message across to the studios, if u couldn't care less, then there's nothing to discuss. Life is short, live it.

A 2D BD player can play a 3D BD.

Yes, the frequency capping is maddening, just as maddening as Warner releasing some BDs with Dolby Digital 5.1 only...

The scene that I mention :

He picks up a rifle (Maybe it's Armalite or Colt M16) and fires it at Hulk.

Agree. I felt being shortchanged for buying the BD.

Start e-mailing foxmovies@fox.com if for those of you who are against 25Hz filter.
