The notebook coolers work, u gotta place the back of ur macbook below the fan. Just some adjustments on the placement of ur mb on the cooler.
would not recommend usb fans as they are not powerful enough, + u don have much usb ports on ur mb, unless u invest on a usb hub.
A standing fan and a notebook cooler is a good combination.

Just some adjustments on the placement of ur mb on the cooler. would not recommend usb fans as they are not powerful enough, + u don have much usb ports on ur mb, unless u invest on a usb hub. A standing fan and a notebook cooler is a good combination. not really, im using a using a usb stand fan + zalman nc1000 while gaming. the usb fan that im using is definitely powerful enough to blow away all the heat and keep my mbp cool. jz place the usb fan on the left of my mbp and pointed it directly on the top left of keyboard and zalman on full blast. u can surely feel the temperature different with the usb fan there. between, i think the zalman nc1000 is a NO NO with mbp, coz it only cooling the front part of mac while the GPU and CPU are located near the rear left. So my suggestion for those who wanna buy a notebook cooler, pls select one that cool at the rear side not the front. here the pic of the usb fan.. quite big the size but it is powerful.
