Take the HappyDog back to the shop if you haven't opened it already. It's like they took the formula for a good food and then added 5 crappy ingredients on top.of it. If you scratch off the first 5, it actually would be an OK good.... Buuutttt considering the first 5 ingredients it's basically a bag of flour.

Ingredients wise Eagle pack is a decent food that has been around for a long time. It does go through phases of being hard to find or unavaliable which makes me shy away from it (although I seem to remember they have changed the importer a couple of years ago and it has been more stable since then). Also price wise it is in a very precarious band at the very top of 'non-grain free foods' where you might actually save money in the long run by topping up a little more and going grain free (as a dog should eat less grain free food than they do the lower protein foods) or buying 2 brands and mixing (so take a bag of Eagle Pack and mix with a bag of something like Merrick grain free).
You could also consider something like NutriSource Lamb and Rice which is priced between HappyDog and Eagle Pack but has a similar makeup to EaglePack (I have been feeding NutrSource to boarding dogs/some of my own dogs for at least 3 years now and have found nothing that comes even close as far as quality for the money you pay).

Thank you for the detailed reply, Divas! Unfortunately this shop where I bought from offers a free repacking service so yeah I've opened the bag and they already repacked into smaller bags of 2kg each. Do you mind letting me know the prices for Nutrisource?

Why do you want to switch foods? The answer to that will determine if either formula suits you better or (which is more often the case) it doesnt matter which you choose.
Saying that, unless a puppy is on a really crappy food, its not so advisable to switch foods for a puppy under 5-6 months old. For a large breed (like you have) its not such a big concern but still if there is no specific need i would delay for a couple of months as Fish4 isnt a particularly bad food.

Because it is recommended to feed food with high protein content to large breed dogs. I'm on my 5th day mixing the f4d and orijen (90%+10%). Tomorrow it will be 100% orijen.

Hi all, anyone knows where to buy Fish4dogs Superior Puppy Food Complete (12kg) with good price. Preferably around Subang area. Bought it from IPC last time @ RM 369 (after 10% discount), but prefer not to go all way to IPC and not sure if they still have the same discount.

*Looking for 12kg one because I have two puppies and they can finish it in 3-4 months.

Also, any recommend dog food to change after they reach 12 months?

Thank you so much in advance for any advice.

Sorry if you've already gotten your answer but i think f4d main carrier is plc. You can try the ss2 branch.. They have stock there usually and look for Wayne. He can help you out.

Dear All,

I've been feeding my husky Evo Dog Food for the past 5 years. Recently very hard to find and the suppliers keep telling Evo Dog Food has been discontinued. Is this true? Can someone please let me know if there are places still selling Evo. Thank you in advance...

Anyone doing homemade dog food here?

I used to feed ACANA and Nutriedge in the past, but lately, I have been preparing homemade dog food.
For sharing purpose, here is the recipe:

Daily Meal (Slow Baked in Oven)
I make this in a batch and freeze it (1 week supply)
Total time spent: 2 Hours on every Sunday
1. Meat - Chicken / Lamb / Beef. (I usually mince the meat with food processor)
2. Fish - Occasionally, Fresh Sardines, bones removed
3. Organs - Chicken Liver, chicken gizzards Why Organ Meat is important for dogs
4. Hard Boiled Eggs Eggs Benefits
5. Pumpkin including seeds Pumpkin for dogs
6. Green Beans / Long Beans Can dog eat green beans?
7. Green Vege - Bak Choy / Green Mustard- blended in food processor.
8. Cooked white rice Should my dog eat rice?
9. Egg Shells Powder for Calcium - DIY - Refer here How to make Egg Shells powder
10. Tumeric Powder - Refer here for the benefits Tumeric For Dogs
11. Olive Oil - Reasons to add Olive Oil for dogs

Additional Natural Food: Apple, Watermelon, Yogurt. I take the same too.
Occasional bone broth from chicken feet.
Supplements: 1 capsule of 1000mg Fish Oil per day. I take the same fish oil too. Fish Oil and Omega 3 for Dogs

My approach is to feed human grade natural food as far as I can.

The results?

Pros
As compared to ACANA / Nutriedge / Nutrience
- Lesser Poop quantity, frequency. Lesser smell from the poop.

Generally,
- Shinier coat
- Active & happy dog.. rclxms.gif
- No vet visit for 1/2 year thumbup.gif

Cons
Additional few hours time spent during the weekend, including time to buy ingredients in the market.

Cost??
RM 20-25 Per week. Works out about RM 80-100 Per month.

Alpo and Pedigree consider cheap but quality you know la....
Or you can cook some rice (left over) and give some chicken meat and chicken skins... please remove the bones though except for softbones.

I saw this while browsing 11street. Maybe you can consider this, price wise quite reasonable. That's the amount I'm willing to spend on my dog at least. http://www.11street.my/productdetail/proba...g-free-18494139

Is there a specific brand breeder always like to promote? I don't want to mention brand name but they always push me to get that brand when I purchase a pure bred from them.

My girl has allergies so for most of her life has been having Eukanuba Veterinary Diet Dermatosis FP/Response. We're in Penang so get it from our vet. We'll be relocating to KL soon for a few months. Do you know where we can get this in Subang area preferably?

Thank you
