Just came back from there. Weather was really good all over the day, with slight rain over the night for both days. Sea was abit rough during the evening but overall, a very enjoyable time over there. Probably will be there again next year smile.gif

Wondering, when is the best time to be around there without that many crowd?

Hey!

Thanks for updating! I checked www.wavewatch.com and saw that the sea is a little rough right now.....I am going there this weekend, hopefully the sea won't be very rough.

Were you in redang on "Tuesday 14th July aka yesterday?" It is difficult to see fishes and snorkel when the sea is rough? Any input from anyone will be very helpful biggrin.gif

Thanks!!

Redang Island always crowd from May till September..but you still can visit during weekdays..less people .You also can stay at other beaches..less people..more privacy and relaxing..only at Wisana Redang or Redang Mutiara..

When do Redang actually opens? I am thinking about going early next year if possible. Possible March if they are open. Or maybe i should change my mind and go for a diving trip in Perhentian instead tongue.gif Do we need a diving license for those trips?

Well, the wave was ok during the early times. I was there on Sat to Monday and the first night was raining. While the other days was ok. Only the wave on the evening on the second day was abit rough and the beach was closed when i left on Monday morning. Possibly due to big waves as well.

In regards to the rough see, you still can see fishes etc but the sea is going to be a lil bit blur. When i was at marine park, the weather was fine at first but later became rough, which causes the visibility to be abit blur after that. Some parts are almost too blur to see anything but other parts are still fine smile.gif For non-swimmers, it might be slightly dangerous as well. But overall, its still acceptable for me smile.gif

And just a piece of advice, for people who do not mind spending for a trip, remember to bring slightly more cash there. I brought around RM400, and most of them went out towards the pictures and disposable camera. About RM200. They do have very good gears to help you take very nice underwater pictures.

Just how much better/worse for the other island (Kapas, Lang Tengah, Perhentian) as a relaxation spot as compared to Redang? I am planning to be there (Redang) at around March next year again but if there is other island that would be more worthy, i dont mind giving it a try.

Reporting live from Perhentian's Abdul's chalet

Very nice, clean & big batroom...but without TV..just finsih our lunch...RM7/plate of rice & RM2.50 soft drink..OK-lah Weather this Morning is hazy & this really a let down to me...Have a short meeting wth Samurai who arrange all my stay here in Abdul & also speedboat hourney..super fast..We arrived here within 1/2 hr from Besut. (Avg speed 58km/hr)

Arriving at jetty beside abdul &clarity of water superb....but less fishes at this jetty compare wth the Redang's Pulau Pinang marine park....

Here's the beach fronting my bungalow chalet ..lotsa bikinis but not topless...haizzz sad.gif :

Attached Image

Will add more photos later...Now thinking of sleeping beside those bikinis.. drool.gif

By the way, Celcom 3.5G available here in Perhentian...Too bad I'm on celcom broadband prepaid..so speed capped at 384kbps only

Well, i am not sure but i am planning about going there when there are less people. I went there early this week and to be honest, its just too many people (although still not as crowded). I was hoping to be there when there is less people and you will have more time to explore the area. The divers are very friendly when i was early at the marine park and they brought me & my gf to wonder around certain areas and explain certain fishes/corals to us in details. But when more people came, they became very busy..lol....

laugh.gif 1st of May is even worse, u can see sea of orange/pink/purple life jackets.

if you looking for sunshine and peaceful sea, i suggest end sept / early oct (ya they still open) is the best.

i went several times already during that period, before the monsoon the sea is beautiful n peaceful, plus less customer.

the best time of the year if you not looking for bikini.

Very tiring walking trip Yesterday..1st I walk to KK Point till the end when the water change from clear blue to emerald..Although still clear but the greenish water & lotsa coral stones..spoilt the sceneries.

2nd, I walked back to my Chalet beside the Marine Park & continue walking till Tuna Bay & Cozy chalet..Thereafter..jungle tracking near cozy chalet all the way to Coral Bay resort...As the sky getting darker, instead of using the same jungle trail, I climbed rocks & walk on the water back to Tuban Bay & thereafter to Abdul Chalet...what an adventure...Lucky I din book Coral Bay...The beach is something like Paya beach in Tioman..lotsa dead coral... smile.gif

BTW, it's now officially confirmed (By me-lah) that Perhentian tourists consist of 80% Mat Salleh...not bad...can fight Phuket, Bali & Hanoi already rclxms.gif

More photo sharing (All taken by lousy Nokia 5800 camera...That's the only medium I can trf photos right now)...

bikini's at Marine Park jetty (Taken from the balcony of my bungalow...):
