If that's case, I will be dropping by...because I am not scared of anything at the moment. All "cleaned" and legal. Hopefully soon. Besides, we have known each other since 10 years back and I still don't know how you look like. It's like chatting with a damn ghost. LMAO!!!

Wow !!

How are they now ? SOLD ?

I prefer tortoise over turtle breeding/ venture due to water management ....etc
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sulcata ?? How hard is that sp ?

Now my 6 year old son is in-charge of his "sulcata big brother" (Male is 7+ yrs bought as hatchling) and his wife (bought as WC adult @15" June 2008 )
This pair lives at home !!
1st clutch somewhere December 2009 - 30/?? eggs (never found the nest only found 30 hatchlings when they hatch )
2nd clutch March 2010 - 18/21 eggs
3rd clutch September 2010 - ??/31 eggs

I believe the Female is from a huge Sulcata shipment sometime back in April or May 2008 Paid RM 5xxx for her to pair up with my lone Male sulcata
*
This paticular F sulcata laid clutch 4A Sunday evening - 16 eggs (there should be more in her , so clutch 4B on the way ) How hard is it to breed them ??

all is tortoise for the 2 place? quite nice i think
*
Nice but if have dog or monitor lizard even rats than your tortoise will be doomed !! And if prolong rain (ground become water-logged or cant dry before night fall ) they risked becoming write-off as well !!

Fence of enclosure should be higher and some dry ground ie cement slate below shelter or use a dog kennel (sleeping at night ) instead !! If can add some sort of heat source inside kennel to be on on cold rainy night then they will be in paradise !!

Since chelonians can't be kept in a room, I have always wonder how big is your place Sam...you must have an orchard or a farm. smile.gif
*
Both , one for fruits / fodder production and few for actual animals depending on sp !! Some on lease some own outright !! The best is the one with few big pond / lake (Dont forget my Arapaima )

I thought I told you before since MF era ??

Juz wondering.. what kinda supplements you guys give to your tortoise when they dont EVER want to eat pellets? Somesort of powder perhaps?
*
A few types given

- Multi Vitamin
- Calcium + Vitamin D3 or without
- Probiotic
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Just wondering what type of pellets you offering to your tortoise ??
- Most offered in Sabah shop are for turtle except for Exo-terra (which I think the wholesaler never stock ) But maybe you brought some in from KL or oversea !!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Depending on species you can offer dog food ever now and then for the extra calcium and protein !!

Regarding my enclosure. I have just got my fence up to those who previously saw my enclosure. Now my dog cannot intrude my enclosure and attack my torts biggrin.gif Comments? Other than drainage? The tomato plant has been moved to a further location.
*
If I am to do this I would move the whole setup nearer to the building or best of all right next to the building !!

First of all do up some drain cover (Metal or cement )

As you have one less wall to think about and the " 5 foot way " provide eating plate (free from soil and jaw trimer )
Animals have dry land if it really rain non-stop while the existing drain takes care of the drainage problem !!

Hi all,

Just bought baby RES turtle yesterday. Is it normal that it don't eat in the first few days? Because it doesn't show any interest at all on the pellet that i put in. Is it because of the water too cold? I just put normal filtered tap water. Should i mix some hot water to bring up the temperature?
Thanks
*
Cold water could be the cause but it could also be that the turtle is not well !! BUT about the hot water part , how long you think the " hot-er" water temp. maintain 5 minutes and then you add again ?

Go invest in an aquarium heater if your container is big enough !!
If can post some picture of setup , its location in your room/house ......etc

naa, getting emotional again eh?

http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1651635

nonono, since you are a 'tortoise god' and i'm just a nobody with a few red eared sliders, please enlighten us with your knowledge.

i hereby challenge you to discuss properly and provide evidence that those tortoises you are selling really are G. pardalis ssp. pardalisicon_idea.gif

please note that i'm not a trader - i have nothing to gain. this discussion is solely for the purpose of knowledge.

and thanks for the nice siggy - i love it!
*
Come-on man (nonono) What Camillenoir stated is a fact (not made up K ) do your research !!

So its either you make it up or you are being duped into believing that they are indeed G.pardalis pardalis and imported as such !!
