In paddocks and aquariums protected by surveillance cameras and electric wire, Okinawa leaf turtles feast on silkworms and mulberries in a temperature-controlled greenhouse. Nest-building Burmese black mountain tortoises relax in piles of freshly cut oak, sycamore and bamboo. Forest-dwelling impressed tortoises dine exclusively on organically grown oyster mushrooms. Philippine pond turtles spend the night in snug tunnels made of cork bark.

yeah, my thoughts exactly.

and under the new laws, people like us who had been breeding for years are now criminals, while those people that had done absolutely nothing other than preaching and campaigning (WWF, Sahabat Alam) are heroes. and perhilitan is still dumb and more concerned on internal politics and some good media rep but had utterly failed in recognizing the real problem.

With or without permit, it is still illegal and thus, the fine part actually doesn't bother me much.

Do they really confiscate and breed them? Hope they don't do otherwise.

I found this tortoise crossing a busy road near a residential area today while driving to a friends house.

It looks quite healthy as it was moving about, but what do i know, I'm not an expert. Some of the tortoise's shell looks really dry and has slight cracks.

For now, the tortoise is in a big sink behind my house in a shaded area. I gave him a quick bath and gave him some lettuce but he doesn't seem to eat .

I have no idea what species it is and how to care for it. I hope all the tortoise sifus out there can help me IDENTIFY what species this tortoise is.

Bought my son 2 tortoise as pet. one of them grows. the other one doesn;t. i brought back to the pet shop, the guy says could be some infection. this little tortoise doesnt eat, hardly moves and there seems to be a layer of film covering both eyes.

The pet shop guys recommends to bask the tortoise under the sun daily for 15 mins. been doing that for weeks. no improvement. The shell is getting softer.

I dont want this poor guy to go away. Can somebody suggests to me some remedy please?

Oh, my tortoise don't have shell rote then, the scar/crack doesn't smell

Just to let you know that I've been feeding it with some papaya added with some calcium supplement that i already been using for my leopard gecko, as you said that this tortoise like some protein, i offered him to freshly killed crickets but he only ate one..

Is the calcium supplement necessary for tortoise?
Just calcium OR calcium+D3 ?

I'm just using calcium+D3 supplement by ExoTerra..

hello evryone...my impressa tortoise has a wet eye...is she crying or lacking some nutritions in the food...i feed her with oyster mushrooms usually...but her eyes are abit watery like tearing only...
please advice

bought it from a pet shop...with license of course...haha icic so how can i cure the rns??
