Hi, I am a new A42Jv user, I was wondering how can I make use of the Nvidia Optimus technology to maximum my battery life??? So far the best I can get under battery saving mode is only 3hours+, is this normal?? I thought it could last longer..

Wah u sure is A42jv? this unit suppose to be low on stock n I saw a lot of shop list price for 3099 nowadays.. If it's 2799, it's already a bargain even if u dun bargain for it..

I hate those kind of sellers.. Basically they just wanna sell off the unpopular models... Like if you wanna buy A42Jv, they will tend to guide to buy other models instead because Jv is the hot cake whilst others are not and will start telling you bullshits..

is it just me or A42Jv have a really slow boot time considering it as a new laptop? I take like 1 minute to boot up into windows from power button ><.. I've tried uninstalling most of the useless bloatwares but it doesnt make any difference

It's quite soft compared to the likes of Dell/Compaq... Among Asus laptops, I think it's just normal... Set the equaliser to 'Rock' then it would be louder lol

I've been wondering why is the Windows Experience Index for Windows Aero is so low for A42Jv... I went to check out some sony laptops with much suckier GPU at Best Denki KLCC just now and they score much higher than my A42jV... Any ideas anyone? is it becoz of the slower HDD?

Yea, I wonder why we must either on/off both together... My previous Asus lappy could choose either one or both

Added on July 22, 2010, 9:06 pmThe scariest thing just happened to my A42jv ><... My touchpad suddenly not functioning but my BT mouse was still ok.. I checked everything and nth is disabled... So i restarted... but after restarting it's not working also, then suddenly keyboard not working... I panicked and turn off the power restarted in safe mode, then it worked again... Scary.. Anyone know what might have caused this?

I just went to the Asus shop. The monitor is the same as mine. I can see the vertical pixel lines. But maybe I'm too sensitive, because the salesman cannot see the pixels.

1 question, the recovery dvd's that we made, would it install those bloatwares as well or it's a clean installation of windows?

So how do we actually do a clean installation then? Is it possible to use a copy version of windows7 64bit to install to the laptop then activate using the product key beneath?
