Bowlzone in Summit offers good price for their balls..

Sunway pro shop is good because the man does the balls for the national team and the balls there are quite high end.. price wise is ok too..

endah parade one is opened by holloway cheah(I think..).. need me to say somemore? haha.. national team coach..

avoid the one in timesquare.. bloody expensive.. I bought my magic touch in bowlzone for RM599.. whereas timesquare is selling it for RM799..

how to know? just throw your ball... if it skids a lot.. more than likely its heavy oil.. if it hooks super duper early.. then its dry..

or.. you could just ask the workers there.. they should know..

I dont think they do any patterns on oiling.. unless you are joinning tournaments.. so you wont need to worry about patterns..

you could polish or sand your ball surface.. if its not hooking enough you could bring your surface down to 2000-grit using an abarlon pad.. or if its hooking way too much you could polish your ball so that it will skid more..

2nd dimension is more for heavy oil lanes.. virtual gravity is a heavy oiled lanes ball.. you will suffer when the lanes break down..

each ball surface is different.. are you a hook player? or just throw straight ball?

if you are hook player.. you should understand sometimes you play your ball hooks damn early.. or sometimes you play.. your ball hook late or dont hook at all..

if your ball hooks early.. you need to polish your ball surface.. so that your ball will skid more..

if your ball hooks late or no hook.. you need to take a pad.. they call it abralon pad.. got sell in sunway.. and start rubbing your ball with the pad.. it makes the surface rough so that the ball could bite the lane and hook..

the two balls that you saw.. 2nd dimension ball is made for medium to heavy oil lanes.. but its closer to a heavy oil lane ball.. which means if the lane is not oily enuf OR has been played by other ppl for many many games... the ball will be harder to control(but still controllable).. virtual gravity ball is a heavy oil lane ball.. so if many people have played the lane already and they did not clean the lane.. you may have a problem controlling the ball.. the hook will surely die when it reaches the pin.. what you want is a continous hooking motion.. smile.gif

drilling is another story.. you cannot change your drilling while you drilled ur ball already..

this is small changes that you can make to your ball when you suddenly encounter an oily/dry lane during tournaments/leagues/compertitions.. plug and redrill the ball takes 2 days wat.. ahha..

yea i know...
what i mean is firstly u know ur drilling layout...
once u buy new ball that the hook potential more than ur old ball,
u should ask the pro shop guy to adjust ur drilling layout rite, so the ball will suit u...
sorry if i'm wrong..:-)

no.. drillings doesnt work like that.. drillings follow ur style of playying.. some drillings could let your ball go deep down in the lane and then have a super duper sharp backend.. some drillings are for flare which means using the ball maximum hook capability.. so depending on ball speed, axis tilt, axis rotation, and rev speed.. you will know ur drillings..

but then.. why would u want a ball that is better than your old ball but you want it to perform like your old ball? haha.. doesnt make sense.. you want it to be better! hahaha..

u tell me simple hook no use lah.. I also dont know ur simple is how simple.. LOL! and need to see ur drilling layout also.. post a pic.. or if u know how to measure.. good also.. post ur measurements.. ahahha..

polish doesnt make the ball hook lahh.. polish makes the ball skid.. thats why no hook! hahaha!

no idea.. need to see how u play.. rev rates and ball speed plus axis rotation is important..

sometimes you dont need to buy such high performance ball.. but if you have the money to buy it.. by all means go.. LOL! jimat mah.. play smart.. smile.gif.. Pete Weber doesnt use 2nd dimension or invasion or virtual gravity.. he uses Furious.. yet he is PBA ranked #2..

sunway is wood lane.. you just see the lane.. if it looks very smooth like plastic.. its synthetic.. if u looks abit rough.. then its wood.. wood lanes.. you can see each board properly.. synthetic its abit hard cause the lines not so clear..

dats y laa men smlm dok nk msuk longkang je...
ingat polish xde effect n just for shining the ball..

Added on May 2, 2010, 6:40 pmwhat is difference between synthetic n wood lanes?
like effect to the motion of our ball..
lane synthetic ni susah nak hook ke? sweat.gif

one is use real wood to make.. one is use man made materials..

real wood has more friction.. means hook more... synthetic is very smooth.. yeah.. harder to hook.. smile.gif

wood lanes for me is easier to play than synthetic lanes..

lemme see...
started playing in 97... casually until 2006
2nd half of 2006 almost every week play tongue.gif
2007 also seldom play, once or twice a month
2008 played few times
2009 a few time in pandan lake club
2010, once tongue.gif

how to kira? huhuhuhuhu...

i have 3 balls last time
1. revsolution 15lbs, straight plastic. bought from my friend. still with me but can't use anymore, need to replug 1st
2. forgot the name, 13lbs. cracked between the plugs. left too long in my hot room, cracked into 2 doh.gif damn nice ball but light. bought from the same friend. tongue.gif
3. storm forgot the name. purple color, 15lbs. 2nd hand ball, from endah parade, don't remember the name, but the shop is on the other side of the complex, quite far from the alley. the guy drilled not according to my previous ball, he said he wants me to change my playing style. don't really understand what he means rclxub.gif ends up have to us skin patch every time i bowl. got once my skin was pulled out while throwing. doh.gif doh.gif the pain....

no money to buy brand new ball. got 2 bags, 1 stupid sling bag, another 1 3 balls roller. bought my pair of shoes from the korean shop in ue3. heard the shop closed down already. great shoe, meant for lefties. smile.gif

max price with drilling + inserts would be 750..there's no ball above 750 in bowlzone smile.gif..neway i heard c 2.5 is better than 3.5...and evil siege is a

tgh tunggu feedback from k2anthrax .....baru 599 i think...pro performance check kat bowlingball.com...dah murah sebab bola thn 2007-2008...bola ni beli last yr but rarely use sebab fav ball fury smile.gif .

no plugging, after clean n polish will look like a new ball , drill for skid snap layout....ball is at summit bowlzone

reason for sell just bought another twisted fury version...this time solid

it could be..

1. you are overturning the ball
2. your release timing is wrong
3. ur backswing has a problem
4. your release is wrong

Im thinking more of 1, 3 and 4.. smile.gif

you must remember to have your hand behind your ball when you reach ur ankles.. you need someone to see it because you cant see it..

are you dropping your ball? thats one of the reasons too.. you need a slight loft when you throw it.. but ofcourse not loft too much.. put a towel after the foul line.. not too far.. say about 10cm after the foul line.. and start throwing.. make sure your ball dont touch the towel..

how do you grip ur ball? do you grip it with the base of your whole thumb(your thumb nail should be touching the back of the hole..)?

yeah i was thinking asking my friend 2 record it and see for myself what's wrong , maybe need 2 practice in front of the mirror how my hand goes , i think i'm ok with the launching just that at the end of release my hand will face left ... sleep.gif"

knee drilling is kinda ok , but stress my hand coz cupped the ball and then my thumb will automatically lock to it ...

hmmm ok what i'm learning now is ...

when i hold the ball , thumb @ 10 o'clock ,
then my last finger is near to my 4th finger while my 1st finger is stretched out wide ...
cupped the ball so that i wont break my wrist while letting it go ,

but the thumb problem ... i always hold it too tight ... because if not hard enough then my other fingers even thou squeezing the ball but still cannot support it ... weak wrist and fingers i guess ...

ur ball should just slide right out.. is ur hole too small for your thumb.. put in your thumb straight in fully and pull it out.. it should have minimal or no resistance... maybe you need reverse pitch drilling.. but nahh.. I dont think so..

unless you are really squezing it so tightly until you could jsut hold ur ball overcoming the momentum.. to cup the ball you dont need to squeeze the ball.. just imagine at the point of release.. you want to use your two fingers to poke right into the ball..

the thumb hole is ok , fits in and out nicely ,

ok noted down ur advise , tomorrow i shall try and see how it goes ... now can maintain 120++ and less gutter ball

compared 2 straight last time , around there but gutter ball is kinda frequent ... considered as quite ok also le i think ...

or altenatively.. you could try what I try to do always when I was small.. at the point of release.. try your VERY best to make your whole hand to go under the ball.. but this method will not go well with your coach because if you over do it.. you will bend your arm when you release it.. a slight bent at the point of release is ok.. power players usually do it.. but dont lah bend too much.. ahahha..

he wants me to get my basic good 1st b4 teaching me more ...

hand straight up , and not braking the wrist , no power incurred , just release using the momentum swing ...

and thanks for your tips , i will try to impose it + creativity to see how it works tomorrow ...

hi everyone. appreciate some expert opinion from you guys here....
i just got a new ball - brunswick power groove. i noticed there's difference in the drilling, whereby it is drill just next to the ball....ok im not sure what you call it....sorry for being a noob...it's near this yellow dot, where the driller will take it as a drilling mark.

for my previous ball it is drilled further from it. may i know is there a difference to it? i mean near to the yellow dot will causes ??? further it will causes ???

i just tried once last weekend. so...couldn't really tell/feel much differences...besides comparing it to my older plastic ball would be like comparing apple and orange...

that one is called "pin"... for balls like the plastic balls.. the pin is no use.. you can drill it anywhere you like.. for reactive balls.. it is very important.. all reactive balls have a core in them.. the core makes the ball unstable hench the power for you to hook.. the pin is a reference point for the drillers to know where is the top of the core.. the head of the core lah...so they drill it accordingly.. thats the basics.. want to learn more? google.. kakaka..

google bowling ball pin location or bowling ball pin placement..

using a lower weight ball got their advantages.. some lower weight balls can flare a lot more than heavier balls.. you need to look at the specifications of the balls.. the differential rg.. the higher the differential rg.. the more flare you will have and thus more grip on the lanes..

and.. lower weight ball you could rev a lot more than heavier balls which translate to more hook.. more rev = more hook = more pin action.. however.. you hitting power goes down and down and down.. so you may not be able to strike or avoid spilts as much as a heavier ball..

usually its advisable to get a 14lbs.. they call the sweet weight or something like that.. just perfect.. but ofcourse the hitting power wont be as great as a 15lbs.. but then again.. if you buy a 15lbs ball.. you drill it.. it will maybe become 14.8lbs or 14.5lbs.. LOL!

wakaka ur body shape lebih kurang sma jek with me.. u tinggi sikit kot.. yerp agree with boomer.. i pernah terkena ngan coach baik punya.. he told me what if i can show u that 16lbs is lighter than 14lbs?.. sweat.gif .. the point is ur support and also the distance u r holding the ball from ur body.. wink.gif.. moreover ur holes need to be drilled suitable with ur thumb n fingers so that u dont grip the ball which can the ball feels heavier.. icon_rolleyes.gif

how do you grip ur ball? do you grip it with the base of your whole thumb(your thumb nail should be touching the back of the hole..)?

my play: stand next to the left gutter, throw straight on the 1st arrow, clasp the 2 fingers at the end of throw, the ball will turn in by itself tongue.gif rclxms.gif

the advantage of being lefty.. the turning motion during release of the ball comes by nature.. different with righties.. damn it make me jealous of lefties.. huhuhu...

what's that? i don't know what they call it, but it works. tongue.gif
but now trying to change my throwing style, stand next to the right gutter, throw outward towards the center trying to hit 1-2 pocket. smile.gif
if not suitable, will change back to the normal style.

coach ah.. wahh.. I also not pro how to be coach? haha.. can can.. pay RM45 to sunway there.. they let you play for 2hrs.. u throw sampai you puas hati and you could call me to see what is your problem.. if Im free lah.. but I dont gurantee what Im teaching you will be PROFESSIONAL PBA style ah.. LOL!!

1st arrow? you are brave.. Im starting to throw from the inside now cause it gives me a bigger margin for error.. I use to throw 2nd arrow and go straight out to board 3-5 depending on lane condition.. but now.. not consistant dy.. sometimes gutter.... LOL!!

depends gak.. bnyk factor.. after u dah baling semua cukup syarat with good release everything then maybe it's caused by oiling.. if sekejap masuk then sekejap x masuk it will be the release (talking about aiming the same arrow).. for me, player yang pkai guard kurang varians berbanding yang x pakai guard.. cuma sumtimes bola terlepas or stuck that will make the ball rolls differently.. point of release also can make ur ball rolls sooner or later

for normal release i think use guard better for consistency...if u play palm than different...coz need to cup n uncup...pro level edi if release like this

tbh i also didnt know him @ all , well i was into bowling when i was Form 3 but no other friends are interested and recently played again , the interest came back , then backside itchy go and get a reactive ball and try to learn myself which failed miserably ,

then manage to get Uncle's contact and called up , well @ 1st i was contemplating as RM200 + Games is kinda heavy burden for me ... but GF say try and if got improvement then it's worth it , so i went for the 1st session and nvr looked back , now albeit still learning but i realised that gutter ball is not a favor anymore ...

this is solely my experience ...

main ball is the reactive ball.. reactive ball very reactive.. can hook can rev can be very aggressive.. if it hooks, its gonna be very hard for you to spare pin 10 or pin 7.. thats where spare ball comes into the picture.. spare ball is a hard plastic ball which has no core at all(or at least a pancake core).. the surface is as smooth as a baby's bottom and it will slide down your lane with no hook or minimal hook.. so in essense you are throwing a straight ball towards ur pin 10 if you want to spare it.. easy isnt?

the rate can be lower if 2 person in one session? NICE.. me and my friend was thinking to go back to him..

may i know..what is the purpose of having a glove?
*
some people don't have strong wrist to hold the bowling ball. so, 1 of the function of the glove to give support to bowler hand (wrist) to hold and lift the ball better. also using it will make ur release more consistant thumbup.gif

u must have some of bowling ball to suite with different oiling condition and also with different layout using ur PAP. usually, sanded or solid ball for heavy oil and pearlize or polish entry level ball for dry lane condition thumbup.gif

chill man...bowling is a practice game...eventhough ur steps, swing or release is not same as the text book but if u practice the same thing everyday u'll get a good score as well...i witnessed with my own eyes in pyramid league...all those old uncles throw their own style yet get very good score n consistent.

those uncles or aunties are money bowlers.. they bowl for money.. so they dont bother whatever style there is in bowling.. as long its a strike.. its ok.. LOL!

for us(Im assuming everyone is having the same view as me).. we treat bowling as our passion and we want to be extremely good in it.. its different..

haha.. nice club for bowling discussion u all have here..
nway i'm a newby in bowling.. not too new actually.. have been playing for several years already but mostly for fun lah.. but lately have been playing really often.. wanting to improve myself.. love this game i must say..

so wanting some tips for a newbie like me.. i mean have been using ball size ranging from 9 - 11 (as stated on the bowling balls in the bowling alley) so want to know wut's the actually size (kg/Lb) for these size..

secondly wanting to know opinion of all out there..would it be beneficial / worth it if i were to buy a bwling ball for my own.. and if yes.. what type of ball suitable for me? i mean brand? price range? currently i throw straight ball but really trying hard to go for hook ball.. love the style.. hehe

opinions are really welcome!! please pros outhere..

woih.. u all also can help answer mah..

the numbers you see on the ball is the pounds of the ball. 9 = 9 pounds.. 10 = 10 pounds.. so sendiri pandai2 lah count how many kg is it..

you want to play hook? you then should buy something like entry level balls. Brunswick Powergroove, Ebonite Tornado, Storm Tropical series, etc.. they should be cheap.. I know Brunswick powergroove is easy to find.. endah parade selling, sunway pro shop is selling.. not too sure abotu the price.. I know got package lah in sunway.. RM400+ with other goodies.. Brunswick Powergroove.. learn from it then slowly move on to higher end balls.. at least it saves you money.. unless you are willing to spend RM500+ for a reactive ball and u learn from there which will be hard for you to learn alone..

if you still want cheaper.. you could buy Brunswick T-Zone.. RM190 only selling in sunway pro shop.. but it will be the same as the house ball.. its hard for the ball to hook unless the lanes are EXTREMELY dry.. eventhough you could hook it, when it hits the pins there is not much reaction..

it is always beneficial because the drillings will be custom made to fit your hand.. it will be easier for you to hold your ball and you will be more consistant and you will feel your ball is much lighter..

anway thanks to all

Added on May 9, 2010, 2:25 amone more thing? if i've been using 9-11 pound house ball.. wut size ball i should choose if i were to buy my own ball.. coz not sure where i've read this but some say u ought to choose a ball slightly heavier because personal ball have better finger fitting then the house ball so can afford to take heavier ones.. nway does the heavier means the better.. if so then i need to work my hands out to be able to bowl with heavier balls.. hehe smile.gif

when you ball a ball.. it states that its 15.3lbs for an example.. when you drill it.. you take away weight depending on how big your fingers are.. so in the end it will be around 14.7lbs. round it up it will still be 15lbs.. ahha.. but with a good drilling and a good fitting of your fingers.. you will feel ur ball is much much lighter than 15lbs.. this is because you dont need to squeeze ur ball to hold it in place already.. it will just be stuck to your hands throughout your whole swing..

the heavier the ball.. the more pin action you will get.. its easier to strike with a heavier ball(that is the basic understanding).. lighter balls wont go through the pins.. imagine a 9lbs ball going thru 40lbs of pins.. ofcourse the ball will deflect to the side instead of going straight into the pins..

however.. you must find a weight that you can manage.. try get a house ball.. make sure the thumb and fingers fits nicely.. stand using ur last step position(the ending position of your approach.. the one with the ur left knees bend and ur right leg is behind your body).. and then swing the ball 10 times.. see you can hold the weight or not..

worthit bro if u buy own ball .

house ball wont fit me . im big . but my fingers are small . wrist not that to kuat . bole angkat 8 je sebab finger nicely fit but it is to lite .

10 quite nice for met but hole to big and tendency to slip or fall down tinggi .

then i buy own ball . about 11.3lbs . fit my hand nicely . now feel so ringan ady . i dun wan buy heavier ball cuz wana play spinner .

tapi try avoid those plastic ball . better buy entery level punya reactive ball macam neosquall cakap , etc tornado .

how heavy are you? I suggest you use the rough calculation of ball weight.. the one that is suggested by neutral88.. 10% of your body weight will equal to your ball weight..

i didont follow this last time tho.. I was 60kg last time which equal to 132lbs.. but I was throwing 14lbs ball... hehehehe.. its good for starting if your dont know what to throw.. slowly but surely you will train urself to hold the weight..

last time when I started I use to get those 9lbs balls and throw.. then when I bought my very first ball at 10lbs.. it wasnt enough.. I kept getting very disappointed because it just doesnt make my score high.. in the end I bought another ball.. jump straight to 14lbs because that time my friends told me 14lbs is the minimum weight for a hook ball to play properly.. peer pressure.. but it paid off.. it took me few weeks to get used to the weight and bowling got interesting.. smile.gif

oh ok... i'm 64kg.. so should be around 141lbs.. so if 10% i should be using 14lbs ekh.. but have nver been using the 14 house ball.. seems to heavy lah.. but then again.. maybe i'll start out with some lighter weight balls..perhaps 12.. just to get used to the feel of throwing.. maybe then like u neo i would go a step heavier..
thanks agan to neo and neutral..

yes yes , starting with lighter ball is better , at least can control ... but that's for me ... sometimes i feel it's heavier , sometimes lighter ... but really depends how u position the palm and fingers ...

anyway bro neo , wanna meet uncle john tomorrow , what's did he call u last time , maybe i can ask him ... teehee

huhuhu...welcome broo..
slow2 n step by step..
that house ball doesn't follow our finger size..
that's why it make we feel heavier to carry that ball.
i just use 10lbs for house ball when playing suke2 with my friend.
n it seems heavy for me..
but with my track, i'm getting to be a CRANKER..
hahaha.i just a stroker actually..

entry level ball. suite for dry-medium lane condition. good for learning purpose (for hooking the ball hehe)

for me, the better way to learn hook is by using 2nd hand reactive ball. try to buy 2nd hand medium performance ball when u want to practice. cheap and profit hehe

hi bowlers!!

need some help again. i have been searching for types of balls as suggested by neo the other day...

so need some help in understanding more..

found several type of balls from diffrnt brands in the "entry level" category..so just wanna know what are the advantages and disadvantages of these balls..

ebonite tornado, ebonite maxim, brusnwick slingshot, brunswick powergroove?

also some are labeled with polyester type and some others are of the urathane type.. for my reading i've concluded that urathane are of "higher performance" type of ball.. hrrmmm but not sure..

can anyone clarify this? thanks!!

there are three types of balls.. plastic, urethane and reactive.. all these are the coverstocks.. all have cores..

ebonite tornado, brunswick slingshot, powergroove are reactive balls.. powergroove got urethane version also.. ebonite maxim is a plastic ball..

from the list you choose.. I suggest brunswick slingshot because it has a strongest reaction compared to others.. good coverstock also.. nice for you to learn how to hook..

ebonite maxim.. good for you to play straight ball only.. good for spareball because it goes straight..

urethane is between reactive and plastic.. urethane balls are usually similiar to plastic balls but have a bigger core inside them.. the surface of the ball does soak up a little bit of oil as comapred to plastic(which doesnt soak up oil at all) but it wont be as aggressive as reactive balls..

betol2..
compact info from coach..
reactive are the most suitable for hook player..
coz the lane n ball have the reaction, n friction with each other..

ofcourse its better.. but can you manage the hook or not? if it hits dry or medium oily lane you'll suffer.. you will suffer also if the lane is not freshly oiled..

when u want to play hook style, u must also to know about oiling pattern (lane condition). when u meet dry lane, plastic @ urethane @ pearlize entry level ball will suite with this condition. when u meet heavy oil lane condition, u need to use aggressive ball like high performance or sanded or solid coverstock ball. also need to drill the ball with the right layout to suite the lane condition yawn.gif

hi everyone, noob here..

need some advice here. currently i'm using brunswick powergroove reactive 12lbs. average about 140 only. sometimes, the ball hit 1-3 pin but still there is/are pin left. so, i'm think of to upgrade to heavier ball probably 13lbs since my uncle give his 13 lbs urethane ball to me recently. is it worth to upgrade to 13lbs or go straight to 14 or 15lbs? new ball or 2nd hand ball?

ermm try 14lbs 1st...
if suit u it will be great...
n summore it doesnt mean u hit 1-3 pocket u confirm got strike
it depends on your roll to...

u leaving pins on the left? Im assuming pin 7.. you should be happy because light balls usually leave pin 5(the middle one)..

its better to buy new.. 14lbs is a good start.. but u could go for 15lbs.. its just roughly 600grams difference between 14lbs and 15lbs.. LOL! my advice.. go with 14lbs.. because thats my favourite weight.. although it doesnt hit the pins as hard as 15lbs but it gives me a wonderful and consistant hook.

new ball is better because its new.. bowling ball tend to die.. die as in the surface does not suck up oil anymore and does not grip the lanes(you could use ur hands to feel a new reactive ball.. it feels sticky right? thats a good surface..).. when the ball dont grip the lane it hits much lighter.. believe it or not.. the balls do tend to grip the pins and spin them around to give you a much harder hit.. its not my own theory.. try throw ur ball with no roll and with roll to one single pin.. the ball with roll will fling the pin much harder..

so 2nd hand balls.. though some balls may still be alive and kicking.. you could buy a dead ball which will be extremely hard to play with because you will either get inconsistant ball reaction or no hook.. thats why ball maintanence should be the top priority for any bowlers who has a ball..

tq for your advice.

yup, it usually leave pin 5. so, what categories of bowling ball should I buy? stick to 'entry level' categories or upgrade to medium performance ball?

yup. as neo said, some 2nd hand balls not a good one coz die already. that why when u want to selling (seller) or buying (buyer) u must to try the ball 1st. for me as seller 2nd hand ball, i will try the ball 1st. if the ball impact still cun, i will sell it with the reasonable price. if the ball impact not as good as it to be, i will sell it for cheap (just for somebody want to learn play straight ball). as buyer, i also will test the ball 1st on the lane to look at it impact. when i satisfied, i will buy that ball lah. if not, i will not buy it. less cost and also still profit to get 2nd hand ball

* i had buy storm trauma unit carbide from kelvio for rm100 and on the past sunday, i have won 3rd placing (rm1500) on the event at seremban parade. that is 1st time i used that ball after buy it from kelvio hahaha. worth and profit already hehehe icon_idea.gif

* i also have track synergy pearl bowling ball and in the past month (april), i have make a new high game record using that ball in ampang point event. i have score 288 using that ball. my ball already plugged for over 5 times hehe. still good impact and the best huhu. try to buy 2nd hand ball which produce from year 2005 and below. 2000 and below more long life and good coverstock ball. for me lah hehe thumbup.gif

permukaan yg kesat ditambah dgn bende yg kesat dileret atasnya, maka dah tentu2 bende tu akan grip gila2. tp kalu permukaan yg kesat digolekkan bende yg licin atasnya, maka dah tentu2 lah lebih smooth perjalanannya

very dry lane - plastic/urethane ball
dry lane - urethane/entry level ball polished@pearlize ball
medium - medium ball la
heavy - sanded/solid reactive/high performance ball/aggressive ball

weekend would be convenient for everyone but the rate is expensive lol...so let organizer decide

summit members : rm5.50 on weekdays after 8pm and weekend
pyramid members : rm6.20 on weekdays after 8pm and weekend

want to buy mine? Ebonite Magic Touch.. not high performance lah.. for medium to heavy oil.. plugged once.. erm.. had it for not even 1 month.. getting closer to 1 month..

why I want to sell? I figured out that the ball doesnt suit me.. thinking of going for a sanded ball.. RM500.. bowlzone selling RM599.. hehe.. 15lbs.. well maintained.. always after playying I clean the ball..

try to use dual angle drilling style with

pin to PAP = 3 1/2"
angle drilling (mb/cg-pin-PAP) = 30 to 50 degrees
angle to val (pin-PAP-vertical axis line) = 20 to 45 degrees

drilling angle from 10 to 90 degrees when small one will make the ball roll sooner and larger one will make the ball roll later
angle to val from 20 to 70 degrees when small one will make the ball more aggressive (low rg) and larger one will make the ball less aggressive (high rg)

want to know about dual angle drilling instruction, just search on google whistling.gif

for heavy long oil lane condition with less backend reaction, we need ball with solid, sanded and low rg ball

columbia300 pure physics.. sanded surface.. new coverstock that is MADE for long oil conditions.. its not only the drillings you ahve to see.. you have to see your ball also.. you cant expect a Columbia300 Scout reactive to hook on a 44ft oil when you drill it for high flare isnt? different ball got different characteristic.. example the radius of gyration and the differential rg of a ball..

however.. the total bedlam is a good ball also.. medium to heavy.. hits hard.. good reaction.. but its not sanded.. so it'll skid quite a bit and you need to sand it yourself.. smile.gif

yup. drilling layout and ball charecter is important. do u also xpect high performance ball will react really good on 42ftt when u drill pin to pap 6 1/2" or over? u will never get the true reaction from that ball hehe thumbup.gif

scout reactive is beginner level ball which suite for dry to medium lane condition. of course the ball will not good for heavy oil although u drill for maximum hook for that ball. we must know the ball character and also good drilling for our ball

yes if the ball has a high differential rg and a low rg.. rev crazy players would snap the ball right at the end when it grips the lane..

haha.. but no use.. such high angle will almost certainly leave a 7 10 spilt.. LOL!

need help,

is it brunswick slingshot better than power groove reactive? if compare their hook potential, slingshot has lower hook potential than power groove. what i understand, more hook potential, more power. correct me if i'm wrong.

powergroove has been discontinued.. meaning brunswick does not make powergroove anymore.. it has been taken over by slingshot.. slingshot is a good ball.. nice and sharp backend.. moves in really hard.. many positive reviews over it.. same coverstock(the outer surface) as brunswick zone balls..

more hook potential meaning it has more ability to hook.. doesnt relate much to power..

asking pros out here.. recently got some advice from on what ball to buy best if looking to do hook,, and i was told to buy brunswick powergroove reactive.. did some surveying of the price.. some place they sell rm320 brand new ball.. is this the correct price for this ball? how about brunswick slingshot.. i was told it has much less hook potential so does that mean it moves less curvy fashion is it?

what about for those loving to throw straight ball? got any suggestion on ball brands and type?

and can anyone tell me where's the best place to buy and get the best deal for bowling ball.. looking for packages..ball+shoes+beg if can,.

hee smile.gif thanks!!

Hi all pros. Want to ask, is it ok if we put our bowling ball in cars trunk and left it over there everyday?

will the ball lose it power / flare, etc because of heat? smile.gif

..depend on ur bowling ball.
if too hot, it will crack ur bowling ball..

no.. it will benefit the ball because the oil from the coverstock of the ball will come out..

but however.. leave it in too long.. your ball will eventually crack..

the power and flare comes from the shape of the core.. the reason why it could just grip the lanes and hook is mostly because of the coverstock.. the coverstock is like the tyres of the car.. if the coverstock is soaked with oil.. its like tyres that is soaked in oil..
