QUOTE(neutral88 @ May 4 2010, 08:58 PM) urm doesn't go into the gutter but it will hit the back pins QUOTE(NeoSquall @ May 4 2010, 08:58 PM) you must remember to have your hand behind your ball when you reach ur ankles.. you need someone to see it because you cant see it.. yeah i was thinking asking my friend 2 record it and see for myself what's wrong , maybe need 2 practice in front of the mirror how my hand goes , i think i'm ok with the launching just that at the end of release my hand will face left ... are you dropping your ball? thats one of the reasons too.. you need a slight loft when you throw it.. but ofcourse not loft too much.. put a towel after the foul line.. not too far.. say about 10cm after the foul line.. and start throwing.. make sure your ball dont touch the towel.. how do you grip ur ball? do you grip it with the base of your whole thumb(your thumb nail should be touching the back of the hole..)? QUOTE(NeoSquall @ May 4 2010, 09:00 PM) haha.. knee drilling also can.. but that one trains ur knee so that you can bend properly for the slide.. thats in my opinion lah.. LOL! dont really know what is it for.. never did seriously do any knee drilling last time.. LOL! knee drilling is kinda ok , but stress my hand coz cupped the ball and then my thumb will automatically lock to it ...Added on May 4, 2010, 9:02 pm its your release.. keep your elbow near ur body.. your elbow is far away from your body.. |

QUOTE(NeoSquall @ May 4 2010, 09:06 PM) hmmm ok what i'm learning now is ... when i hold the ball , thumb @ 10 o'clock , then my last finger is near to my 4th finger while my 1st finger is stretched out wide ... cupped the ball so that i wont break my wrist while letting it go , but the thumb problem ... i always hold it too tight ... because if not hard enough then my other fingers even thou squeezing the ball but still cannot support it ... weak wrist and fingers i guess ... |

the thumb hole is ok , fits in and out nicely ,
ok noted down ur advise , tomorrow i shall try and see how it goes ... now can maintain 120++ and less gutter ball compared 2 straight last time , around there but gutter ball is kinda frequent ... considered as quite ok also le i think ... |

QUOTE(NeoSquall @ May 4 2010, 09:27 PM) or altenatively.. you could try what I try to do always when I was small.. at the point of release.. try your VERY best to make your whole hand to go under the ball.. but this method will not go well with your coach because if you over do it.. you will bend your arm when you release it.. a slight bent at the point of release is ok.. power players usually do it.. but dont lah bend too much.. ahahha.. he wants me to get my basic good 1st b4 teaching me more ... hand straight up , and not braking the wrist , no power incurred , just release using the momentum swing ... and thanks for your tips , i will try to impose it + creativity to see how it works tomorrow ... |

QUOTE(NeoSquall @ May 7 2010, 12:13 AM) he is a very good coach.. its worth it for the money actually because if you can pick up fast and you are serious in your bowling.. you could learn a lot from him.. apparently every1 @ endah parade says that , one dude was like "listen to uncle , and you will play good games" ... but fast learner ... urgghh i'm a bit slow ...Added on May 7, 2010, 12:16 am QUOTE(NeoSquall @ May 7 2010, 12:13 AM) he is a very good coach.. its worth it for the money actually because if you can pick up fast and you are serious in your bowling.. you could learn a lot from him.. he's there often monday - my training and i do see him every wednesday as wellwhen does he comes to endah parade? QUOTE(NeoSquall @ May 7 2010, 12:20 AM) he is famous indeed.. dont think he small fry only.. he coach national players to become what they are now.. its ok if you are slow.. he is very patient person and friendly.. listen carefully and act towards what he teaches.. my average shot up to 190 when I was under him just less than 1 month.. then you are a fast learner , 3rd session over for me , and yet i cant maintain a 120++ every game ... how sad I didont stick to him for long because of my schooling.. when I could play again he left Sabah already.. dont even know he remembers me or not.. LOL! Added on May 7, 2010, 12:21 amwhat time to what time he is there? |

QUOTE(boomer @ May 7 2010, 12:10 AM) lol i dunno him personally..but he's always in endah parade i guess coz i inquired bout his coaching...after he said rm400/mth lol i changed my mind tbh i also didnt know him @ all , well i was into bowling when i was Form 3 but no other friends are interested and recently played again , the interest came back , then backside itchy go and get a reactive ball and try to learn myself which failed miserably , then manage to get Uncle's contact and called up , well @ 1st i was contemplating as RM200 + Games is kinda heavy burden for me ... but GF say try and if got improvement then it's worth it , so i went for the 1st session and nvr looked back , now albeit still learning but i realised that gutter ball is not a favor anymore ... this is solely my experience ... |
