aren't they bundled with orange box? i got the orange box as well and it came with both of the games.

Those games are part of the Orange Box, but weren't available to play on the Mac OSX until now. Of course, if you already own the Orange Box, you won't need to buy the game again for the Mac.

So, Steam Macnesday gives us...

Half Life 2 - $6.99
HL 2 Ep 1 - $5.59
HL 2 Ep 2 - $ 5.59
EVE Online - $19.99

A little disappointed with with the price...

Or you could go buy the Orange Box... Not sure how much it is now, but you'll get 5 games for the price of one.

Maybe some of the data file is share with the Portal Game (After all they are using the same Source engine.), that is why the download is around 1GB (1013MB)? hmm.gif Just click download n let Steam sort it out for you, I believe it is smart enough to download whatever files you need.

Ojimaru, why the disappointment? Be thankful for Valve porting the Steam platform and open up a new market for games developer... laugh.gif Porting a game from DirectX to OpenGL is no easy job and not zero cost. I am very impress that Valve took the effort, time and resource to do it.

Currently Orange box is also offer for $20.99. (Include all the episodes + Team Fortress 2!)
If buy all the episodes separately: $18.17
Must well fork out extra $3 and you will get Orange box. It is like paying $3 more just for the Team Fortress 2... thumbup.gif

i guess Bunkerer is correct. i already download portal, so i already have the whole steam engine thing on. so steam juz downloads the necessary files for HL2. damn that's smart biggrin.gif

i tried out HL2 a bit... until the part where i met alyx. no problems so far. have to continue on my assignments now tongue.gif

This is the reason I'm disappointed. As I understand it they only needed to apply the conversion once to the Source engine, which powers most of Valve's games.

My guess is that the Mac Orange Box will be released when Team Fortress 2 makes the jump.

A little OT, but saw this interesting blip on Kotaku:

League of Legends Going Mac
http://kotaku.com/5549104/league-of-legends-going-mac

For those wondering, the unfortunately abbreviated game LoL is an RTS in the spirit of the ever-popular Warcraft 3 custom map Defense of the Ancients (aka DotA). The game operates on a free-mium model, i.e. free to play but paying cash unlocks better stuff.

Replaying Portal for the new achievement. XD Too much fun.

And after 12+ hours of Torchlight, I dusted off my Diablo 2 CDs and played them instead. Besides the game-breaking bugs on the Mac, Torchlight lacks so much of the depth found in Diablo 2. I guess the fact that patch 1.13 is finally live helps too.

btw, World of Goo for Mac is available on Steam. Link

Added on June 10, 2010, 9:34 amIf you like Team Fortress 2 and the Mac and can think of something that rhymes with "Speem Gortress zmavailable on the Babac.", then tomorrow (or Thursday in the States) will be a very nice day indeed.

So, whats your performance with TF2?

I'm not doing so well, even with 0 AA and 0 ASIO, fluctuates between 24-40 FPS.
