18-55mm VR + 55-200mm VR can be a suitable lens or not?

looking for cheap and good lens.. sweat.gif
*
suitable for multipurpose uses, if you don't mind changing lenses. if you prefer not to keep changing lenses then 18-200 straight biggrin.gif

Reason I bought 16-35 was for portraiture with landscaping tongue.gif. Everytime see bokeh at the back I also getting bored of it lah... inspired by those sifu here xD (you know who you are haha!).
Yeap, good combination, better than 18-200's IQ minus you need to change lens at different range.
Last checked, this new one cost about RM2850.
*
yeah lo true also, bokeh all the time in portrait also quite boring, need some other background to make the photo more interesting smile.gif

tokina 116 no distortion? ur tolerance level quite good le...the reason i skipped UWA and went to primes is because of distortion..
*

erkkkk i thnk the distortion quite high lo. unless the subject only 2/3 of the frame and at the center

u cant compare prime lens to zoom lens. eventho its cheaper but its better smile.gif
*
hmm but from your pictures, can't see a lot of distortion. mine also the same, if about 2/3 at the center still ok. those buildings at the side can see all slanting inwards lol.

hahah personally....if u really wana play with primes:
20mm f/2.8, 24mm f/2.8, 50mm f/1.8 (1.4d also ok), 85mm 1.8 ( not too bad but canon one is better...wait for nikon/sigma 1.4 smile.gif)

the rest i havent try before lo:)
*
i prefer zooms, not really a prime person hehe. don't like changing lenses so often that's why i got an 18-200

But I think the upcoming 85mm f/1.4 VR is going to be kick ass!
*
hahaha i dunno how much fresh orange costs mah tongue.gif don't see anybody selling rotten apple either, so i only heard it's 6k++ for a new one.

mine creeps a lot too, takes some getting used to. kinda annoying without the zoom lock. they should make a zoom lock that's able to lock at any focal length.

sorry but what is zoom creep?

it's when your lens zooms out or zooms in by itself when you hold it upwards/downwards.

I just had this problem yesterday as i was messing around with my new lens. I was switching the configurations ,turning it around till i find one which allows it to work. lol
Update : Just bought 2 equipments!

1xNikkor 50mm f1.8d for RM390
1xTamron 70-300mm f4.5-5.6 Macro + UV Filter for RM650

Advise on the price please sad.gif Was it a good buy?
*
brand new? it's a good buy. cheapest 50mm is RM380 but for the time/petrol to travel to another place, better get it at RM390.
