200mm/300mm with Tele Converter 2x? do these TC do any good? it will sacrifice few f-stop if not mistaken.. correct me if i'm wrong..

What's the roundish bokeh on the skies? flare from uv filter?

Different people has different taste , not my type of pic to have such flare. But overall nice.

I think i'll just follow my friend philosophy where nikon has spend millions of dollars on their lens coating technology so he finds its not necessary to use all the expensive filters, instead just use normal ones like kenko to protect the front element lol

You can always take it off and put it back on if you experience the flares. That's what i did but vary rarely i encounter unwanted flares though (using kenko uv filters on my lens)

I don't use expensive gears like your friend, but I would still go for good filter. Why? Because it is often flaring cause by it. I'm using Hoya HD on my 70-200, so far very satisfied with it in terms of flaring due to filter. .

70-300mm VR is around RM2000, very nice image quality, tested the other day at my local photo shop 

70-300 VR price is about RM1900.

I see. Hurm was thinking of returning the 18-250 and get the 17-50, but only the one with motor and no VC available. Then after reading your post, suddenly felt like keeping this lens, takut liao  

IQ of the 17-50 compared to 18-105? Or return the 18-250, and get 18-105 + 50 f1.4. Good idea? Hmm hardest decision of my life

thats y, its up to personal preference whether the lens suitable for portrait or not
but cant jz categorise it as portrait lens jz bcos u like it for portrait, thats wat celciuz trying to say i thk
50mm is gud for portrait for most ppl, but its not a portrait lens, more of normal lens
but its jz a name la, the user like to use it for any purpose its up to him/her
even 105 macro oso very nice n chun lens for portrait, too sharp maybe   

ur post proves that u haven seen d powah of 24mm f/1.4 on FX body
