Image looks kinda soft though, could be better if subject is in the middle to have a sharper image. 18-105's edge at 105mm is kinda soft.

QUOTE(zellleonhart @ May 4 2010, 09:16 PM) Speaking about diffuser/bounce card, i've DIY-ed my own foam bounce card few months ago... It's very effective and cheap, only RM2.50 per A4 size foam. Can easily put into anybag because it can be rolled and will retain shape after that. That's what I wanted initially, went to search all over Melaka for the material cannot find. Got fed up and went to get the DFD instead. That one's good lor. can adjust power accordingly. But for places with really high ceilings cannot bend forward. Other than that, it is similar to DFD's concept.I think RM170 for a piece of plastic and card is not worth the price. I think my DIY will have just about the same outcome, just that it doesn't look so cool and not that versatile. Will post a photo of it later. |

QUOTE(edwardgsk @ May 4 2010, 09:21 PM) Heng lah. Can spend so much for a diffuser you guys. Not everyone would want to DIY, but if you've the time and skill I would suggest you to do that. DFD's not worth for the price. Too pricey for such item. But still cheaper than those Whaletail or Lightsphere actually haha.I think i will self diy one when i'm free, personally don't feel the DFD worth the price. |

Yeah, I wanted this foam paper actually. Can bend to the back to decrease power. But can't go in front for more power. Find high and low at Melaka cannot find ._.|||

QUOTE(edwardgsk @ May 5 2010, 12:39 AM) Ya, same company. And they have a lot of grades. Hoya Pro1 is better than those normal one and Hoya HD is the best grade. There's the HMC and Super HMC too ND filter got many good brands as well. Heliopan, Hoya and B+W also got. So far most popular out there is B+W if not mistaken, but of course it cost a lot. QUOTE(fisherman10 @ May 5 2010, 01:24 AM) i think some of u were asking whether to use the sb900/sb800 original diffuser a few post back. Yes, that is how the Demb works, you get catch light and nicely diffused light from the front through the diffuser.lemme give my 2 cents based on my experience. when in a hall and u're pointing the flash upwards to bounce from the ceiling, it's best not to use diffuser if u want even lighting with no shadows. using diffuser will send some light forward, causing the shadows. however, the diffuser might help in diffusing the light a bit if u were to point it forward aka direct flash. those demb flash diffuser works differently than the stock diffuser. the demb flash diffuser works by sending light upwards to bounce but also reflecting a bit forward to light ur subject. it gives ur subject a bit of brighter illumination and also some catch-light in the eyes. any comments on this? right or wrong? |

My plan was to stick to SB900, and get another unit when the successor of SB900 is released (probably not so soon I guess).

QUOTE(C_Sagi @ May 5 2010, 03:29 PM) Not bad.... i'm a cheapstake, I ordered one for RM50 but need to wait 20 days before arrive cause i use the cheapest shipping method. >< I don't mind waiting for 20 days if it is RM50! =/. I don't know how to order myself so.. my best bet is to get it from someone who has them on hand. |

Nissin is definitely way to go if you're looking for the best deal, but if budget is not an issue go for SB900.
