anyway...so far so good...haven't installed all my apps yet... still got a few...

over all...i love it! light and powerfull

boot up is not that slow even if its just using an HDD...i also utilized the biometrics so i only use my finger print to log-in...screen is great...no complains what so ever...still slowly getting my files transferred from my other notebook... battery life is soo..soo... maybe changing to an SSD would significantly increase total battery life...for now i've limited my charging to 80%...could last for like 3hrs+ i guess... i'm using a bluetooth mouse (razer orochi) as well so i'm using some power out of it... great product so far...
btw, anyone got any extra license of office 2010?

which ssd u bought? hows the battery life now?....planning to upgrade soon...just installed ms office... remaining apps are my 3d stuff that i need for work...

This is my first posting here.
I have been looking around for a new notebook for my work. What attracted me to Sony Vaio is the applications that are bundled with all new notebook models are just fantastic.
I have actually shortlist my shopping list to E14P. I plan to use this new notebook for my work. I need to run quite alot of VMware instances on this new notebook. And I like E14P as it has the highest screen resolution.
Do you think I will find more bargain in the coming PC Fair at KLCC, this weekend? If there is good offer for S-series, I might consider it too.

I am amazed with E14P that could last up to 5.5hrs on std battery. I read in the net that it is due to the way the notebook switch between the 2 graphic modes. Anyone got details on how it works? I know S-series has the Stamina/Speed switch that help on the extension of its battery life.

Any feedback is appreciated!

Went to PC Fair and got myself a S-series instead. It is a White SVS13116fbg.... 

Btw, yesterday when I started to use more of it, I notice the big touchpad is not really even. Can feel it sink in abit on the left side and jerk-up abit on the right side. What can I do? Can I demand for a new set due to manufacturing defect? If I send it for fixing I worry once they open up the notebook for this small imperfect issue, will then even cause more major issue in the future.

Any advice on how to "care" for this white color S-series? I worry it will becoming like my white macbook, after a few years of use. Any special cloth or liquid to clean the white surface?

Any comments about vaio E series SVE14A15G and S series SVS13116FGP
I m planning to buy one but not sure which one is better coz the specs almost the same.

however, the s series is rm200 more expensive than the E series.
The E series looked very nice!!!

You also have the same touchpad uneven problem. It sound like a quality issue then. I thought Japanese is very particular about their product quality.

Anybody did the creation of Recovery Media before? If I use an USB flash-drive for this, how big the size do I need? 8GB or 16GB?
E-14P and S-series is quite close in term of price point mainly because E-14P comes with a higher resolution screen and slightly bigger max memory support(up to 16GB). Other than that S-series win it flat-out, as shown below:

My S-series is fixed price at rm3299. I got extra gifts : Buffalo 500gb Ministation USB Hdd + Sony Audio Headset + 4GB Ram upgrade + 2nd year warranty(dealer) + Sony premium gift-set + Sony notebook bag. Thats all.

Hi all, I've been looking around for a new laptop and from my research it looks like the Vaio S Premium fits my requirements: 1.67kg, matte screen with 1600 x 900 resolution, powerful processor and discrete graphics card. DVD drive is a bonus.

What I don't quite understand is why there seems to be a sentiment that Vaio notebooks are overpriced. Perhaps this was true before? But looking at the current Vaio S Premium, the price looks quite reasonable for its specs compared to other 13"/14" notebooks. I had a look at the latest Dell XPS 14" Ultrabook (which is closest in specs to the Vaio S Premium) and the price difference isn't very far off if you spec them as close as possible.

Am I missing something?

My only gripe with the Vaio S is the HDD (5400rpm?). Will shops in KL allow me to exchange the stock 750GB HDD with a SSD, with me topping up the difference in price?
