QUOTE(perfect10 @ Aug 19 2014, 12:08 PM)
i own a 2012 sony Vaio S (VPCSB16FG)

I am wondering if I can swap out the HDD and replace it with SSD and will it improve the performance by alot?

e.g opening programs / multi tasking between programs?
Ps: Its and i5 and already on 8gb ram

for sure faster boot up... fast opening of programs... and 8GB is sufficient enough to multi-task but ofcourse depends on what programs are you doing multi-tasking with smile.gif hope this helps icon_rolleyes.gif

if you can still open and run windows just make a recovery dvd... otherwise download all necessary stuff from sony support site and re-install everything manually.
