HD video file size: one minute is roughly 60MB. The max filesize limit is 4GB, it comes from FAT32 filesystem means longest video is 1 hour, but dunno the battery can last that long a not lol any btw no touch focus on the camera |

QUOTE(freakenstein @ May 4 2010, 08:34 PM) correction: Android is a linux based OS made by googleLeo: of coz, cos nokia also took years to just design it, and the internal hardware placing also...this one? see the picture out, start product and dump the "china standard specs" into it..including vga camera, very very low quality touch screen, speaker that go so loud, the sound cracks, tv, radio, and no warranty XD This post has been edited by BBXiong: May 5 2010, 05:17 PM |

QUOTE(Sususegar @ May 7 2010, 10:51 AM) The novelty for me i guess is multi touch, HDMI and dolby digital, and the aluminium unibody. they don, they only supports up to Open GL ES 1.1 iirc, that time Open GL ES 2.0 aint announced yet also...and u left out N82 But i bet the open gl will be kinda useless seeing nokia never put much efforts on gaming (n-gage fails. hard.) and it isn't anything new either, nokia n93. n95, n95 8gb and the e90 all can support open gl 2.0, but look at the sorry state of apps that uses the dedicated graphic chip? |

QUOTE(Sususegar @ May 7 2010, 11:07 AM) o_O my bad, hahah, but even if nokia really pushes out gaming on the nokia n8, it still can't beat apple which has already in the game ages ago. The open gl 2.0 probably just gives nokia fanboy a nerdgasm and probably limited to rendering 2d menus and browsers. well...if they weren't stupid enough to cancel off their phone with hardware acceleration, i think symbian is right now a gaming platform, ngage is huge success, and iphone wont get so popular at all... |

QUOTE(nicholasbeh @ May 7 2010, 12:16 PM) It's like DirectX, a set of library/API for game producers to use in ease of creating games. DirectX is owned by MS, while Open GL is open source, and it supports Linux and Mac. It's less popular compared to DirectX cos MS spent a lot on DX R&D and improved it. It's still used by some apps. Open GL ES is the lite version of Open GL,mainly used on mobile, and the latest to public right now is Open GL 2.0, which is supported by the N8, and some other phones out there that runs OMAP 3 chipset and Snapdragon. |

QUOTE(aspire2oo6 @ May 7 2010, 03:10 PM) Iphone is a joke. Until today only start to have multi tasking features. The first nokia smartphone can already multi task joke man. I sold off my iphone after 1 week of usage its too boring and too many limitation. Then from 5 or 10 ppl i know using iphone their postpaid bills can shoot up to RM500 to Rm600. U can turn off the phone data access from accessing 3G but after it will turn on of byitself except using 3rd party. they success because most the ppl are not smart phone users, and they success packaging it to a gaming platform...i'd say the phone is a joke, but their marketting is freaking good |

QUOTE(firstknight @ May 9 2010, 11:06 PM) if you are refering to AMOLED helps under sunlight, then no, AMOLED have better color, but under the sun, it's weak..users have been complaining about why it's so hard to see under sunlights..QUOTE(BuFung @ May 9 2010, 11:16 PM) u do not need the real phone to be out to know the pixel density... ya, super AMOLED...they improve the visibility under sunlight, and bump the contrast rate again..i see the video also i instantly stun..then started read the spec u obviously know... for sure.. the N8 is far away from a lot of phone today... AMOLED.. welcome.. but samsung already 1 step advance from AMOLED.. which is the Super AMOLED... haiz..i wish N8 would have a full qwerty..then it'd be perfect for me |

QUOTE(giovanni @ May 11 2010, 02:13 AM) I think super amoled saves battery juice just as much as amoled (if not more). They are basically the same technology but in super amoled Samsung removes an extra layer (of air presumably) hence the thinner screen with enhanced vividness. Correct me if I am wrong nope, not airAMOLED have very very poor performance under sunlight is because they right now have 3-4 layers of glass/screen on top of it. The panel itself, the touch layer, then the surface layer..something like that..and every layer cases reflection, and reflection often causes the screen to have less brightness/visibility. Super AMOLED, combines the touch layer and the screen panel itself into 1 panel, and due to that, the screen will be able to reduce 1 layer of reflection, which is quite a lot, and they also slightly enhance it to produce greater contrast rate, hence it has greater contrast rate, and better visibility under sunlight |

QUOTE(GothFebrio @ May 11 2010, 11:59 AM) so i guess this phone is a failure then, nokia should hv made N8 wit intel core i7 wit geforce gtx480, full hd super amoled touch screen, wit razer qwerty keyboard, 1000000mah battery and dslr camera. and you should be born 100 years laterand pls try not to make ridiculous statement like that This post has been edited by BBXiong: May 11 2010, 12:15 PM |
