QUOTE(tango25 @ Jun 8 2010, 03:52 PM)
Hi guys, need some advice on my diet currently.

11am: 2 whole meal bread + a glass of milo (Milo powder only)
01pm: Oat Meal with 250ml milk
03pm: 250ml milk + 1 raw egg
05pm: Canned Tuna before i hit the gym
08pm: 200grams of beef / 200grams of chicken breast with 2 slices of whole meal bread
11pm: 250ml milk + 1 raw egg before i hit the bed.

from time to time, i'll eat eggs as snacks. I'm roughly eating 8 to 10 eggs a day with Fibre, Vitamins, Baked Beans along too.

Am i having enough carbs in my diet? What other good carbs which is easy to prepare i need to eat?
*
hello my friend smile.gif are you planning on gaining or losing wight?
i like having wholemeal tortillas (sparingly!!)... oats... tempeh and mixed beans (lentils, chick peas etc). weetbix with milk is good too! hehe. sweet potatoes and white potatoes are good carb sources too but if ur on a cut i wld recommend u go for the sweet potatoes cos of the lower GI, and i find it helps control carb/sugar cravings too.

please do cook your eggs! you could catch a bacterial infection from raw eggs or food poisoning.

and from experience.... farts stink if you dont chew ur food properly or dont hv enough fibre in ur daily diet. ive had up to 18 eggs a day with no gassy problems. speaking of which... where are your veggies?? lol.

fibre? do u mean psyllium supplements or drinks?

well... nothing beats having natural foods instead of relying on supplements... and there r a whole lot of antioxidants n vitamins in vegetables. find a few that u like and stick to them.

darklight, im assuming the extract from the sticky that gtoforce posted is for general manteinance or bulking?

whey not a great thing?? well of course natural foods are always better off compared to supplements, and supps should NEVER become a substitute for regular foods (they are called SUPPLEMENTS for a reason lol) but i still strongly believe that shakes REALLY help make the most out of your training and nutrition. smile.gif

okay guys im gonna post what i had today. its my low carb day and i HOPE im getting this correct. ive been told im taking too much carbs, and my experimenting with eating "normal food" pre and post workout yielded, well, disastrous results.

me preworkout today was chicken breast and veggies. yuck.

postworkout was a protein shake and glutamine, which im hoping to wean myself off in due time and substitute with egg whites instead.

post-postworkout meal i had a bowl of sup daging with a palm-sized portion of lean beef in it.

im going to go boil 5 eggs right now to munch on before hitting the sack.

wanna guess how much mercury is in a can of tuna?
i know canned tuna is used as a control sample for lab testing to SHOW the presence of mercury!
should we stop eating that too?? sad.gif

personally.... i dont know. (whoops too late i just bought the entire rack at giant) damned if you do, damned if you don't. im not ready to give up my favorite, convenient protein-packed munchies!

really, pedro? that carb sensitive??
my first experience last weekend - whn i carb loaded i got "chubbier" and i look like im holding alot of water. but by tues or wednesday that all goes down after getting back on the hi fat hi protein. carb load is necessary on the AD/CKD to help with recovery smile.gif and keeps me sane lol

lady vanity, you dont even eat vege during your weekdays ? Just pure protein and fat ? If only that, it's really tough
*
i normally take lots of veggies and fruits too. but im trying out this new diet so for the meantime i gotta omit them. below 20g carbs a day for induction phase, and below 30g starting this week on. i still take a small amount of celery and broccoli everyday tho, and some of my carbs are still coming from dressing like wholegrain mustard and protein shakes.

It's not keto. It's not even CKD. If you use these terms we're not on the same diet. =P

really? isnt AD a modified version of CKD? i thought u do spend a period of time in keto during the week =/ hmmm
but also im wondering.... AD, Bodyopus, CKD.... whats d darn difference????? LOL

ugh. its back to meat n' grease....... helllooooo bacon.....

hey guys, may i ask something. Will our body adapts to the low-carb diet?

I have been on low carb diet forever , thats around 7--8 months of low carb diet. And my fat loss has been stalling for 1 month now. Is it because my body has adapt to it? i ate enough fat and is on high protein

please advise. Thank you!
*
david post ur diet up? how low is "low carb" also?

IMO ur body will definitely adapt to the low carb in the sense that u dont feel moody/tired etc cos ur body becomes used to running on fats like in a keto diet.
if ur weight loss is stalling, perhaps it cld be activity level or calorie intake, not just dieting. just becos ur on a hi protein low carb diet doesnt mean u can eat as much hi protein stuff as u like. excess that ur body doesnt need is still going to spillover into fat.

QUOTE(Florian @ Jul 13 2010, 12:43 AM)
My traps? Haha, ask darklight and he'll tell you what I only do for traps.

Yep, only DB shrugs. HEAVY + Strict form (which means loosen your shoulders to stretch your traps all the way down, shrug as high as possible, hold, bring down, stretch, repeat) Currently I'm doing 90lbs DB each side for 10-12 reps x 4 sets...wish I could go heavier...if only my grip isn't that weak.

DB Shrugs only during back day...then when you do shoulders the next day and if you do lateral raises CORRECTLY (and not swinging) it'll recruit the upper traps at the top of the lateral raise movement when you hold it on the top at about 90 degress abduction of the shoulder.
*
I have a question.
I know its bad to roll your shoulders when you do shrugs... but what about alternating shrugs to the back and to the front? meaning.... i do one set of shrugs behind the back.... and another set of shrugs holding the dbs in front of my thighs... and another set with dbs at the side of my body. and then i repeat all 3 variations again.

am doing about 12 reps per set, with a 2-5 sec pause at the top of the rep depending on how fatigued i feel. is this okay (the alternating angles) or do i still risk injury?

I do shrugs on shoulder day as the last exercise.

ladyvanity:hahaha, serious u do triset?awesome la!..never heard before my gym gf's do such routine before..
*
yes!!
i do trisets for delts alternate weeks. they're awesome.
i do trisets for legs once in awhile too as shock training - triset of leg extensions, lying hamstring curl and stiff-legged DLs.

and my two cents re BTN work... i think they're great workouts. i still do BTN presses, shrugs and lat pulldowns in spite of what everyone tells me. i strongly believe that its all about form. when doing BTN movements also i decrease the weight and go very slow. in the case of BTN presses... the bar never passes below my ears to avoid overstertching. if i need to do heavy i move to a smith machine.

it was just my two cents, darkie. smile.gif sorry if i sounded like i was trying to make everyone do BTNs like its okay. personally i like them, but i dont recommend beginners doing either, and almost never give them to my clients. guess i shld've put a disclaimer in my post.
