is it just me or is everything getting slow now..

both my mule and torrents are slow...

just doesnt seem to find any sources, mule finds like 300+ sources at first then drops all the way down to 5-10 only...

and this are real sources i know cause getting the links from a very reliable site...

even torrents with 500+ seeders and 5000+ leechers, i can only get connected to like 2-5 seeders and 20-30 leechers...

is it something to do with streamyx...?

Make sure:
1. Port forwarding/Firewall OK >> HighID
2. Connection Limits/Max Source/Connection Limits >> Right settings according to your line
3. Connect to one of the verified servers >> "Real" HighID
4. Protocol Obfuscation >> ON

Not needed to download so many jobs at the same time, your modem can't handle them all. If 1 single job that has atleast 200 of sources, download 10 at the same time, mean your modem has to handle 2000! of connections at the starting time, when searching/asking for source. You can imagine how "heavy" the job is. Other than that, what we need to do is wait and be patient. Let the mule to finish the job, everything will be done. Do not compare eMule with a BitTorrent client.

For what Streamyx has done (or planning I should say), you can check the Network & Broadband subforums.

Some topic/tips u guys can check it out.
. I Think Obfuscation Isn't Working
. 0.47b Or C - Pb Connections To Sources

QUOTE:
Obfuscation is in no way ensuring that the ISP doesn't throttle you... it just makes it a bit harder...
- - - - - - - - - - - -
Poor isp's way of throtteling:
1. Count traffic a customer is causing. 2. If sum of traffic per time unit (month, week, day ? ...) is exceeding limit, throttle the customers connection to analog modem speed. No need for any traffic inspection or expensive hardware.
- - - - - - - - - - - -
Or they could just be throttling standard eMule ports. If you are still using standard ports check if changing those helps you with your problem.
- - - - - - - - - - - -
I assume you disabled Kad (because not yet obfuscated), and you checked : Allow obfuscated connections only. If not, your emule is doing non obfuscated connections and your provider routers throtle ALL your internet connection, regardless of what you are really doing.

If you know your ISP is really filtering p2p, then you MUST disable Kad and allow only obfuscated connections.
:QUOTE

Bugs always exist, just look at Microsoft Windows Update. Please be patient guys. smile.gif

and yes im only download like 2-3 files at most which are supposed to have 300 sources, but instead gives me like 30 sources or 10 sources... :S

so its streamyx's work that means...

I can't say that is true, atleast we check our side first. Nvm, for basic: Can you tell me which server you are connected and with IP together? Download/Upload capacities and limits? Max Source and Connection Limits? You are using the RM88 package?

yup on the 88 package....

lately i havent been able to connect to donkey server #2

yesterday my mule went fast for a while then back to normal again, as in no sources...

was conneted to fat server

ive been using the same setting ive always been using since 5yrs back, well except i have changed abit here and there la with improvements on the mule...

best for me was max sources of 500 (per file) and 500 connection limit...

of course you need to tweak windows also for this, which is done...

From Febuary I have already been shaped by their "experiment-throttling-project" (warning: spoiler). I understand your feeling now, so don't be sad. So you're a experienced user, maybe longer than me.

OK, connection settings that's up to you, since that's best for you.. so I'm not going to bugging that. Bout the server, 62.241.53.16, is this the IP? This is important, make sure you don't connected to one of the fake servers.. because you claims that sources was dropping.

IF you don't mind, try this:
- Change your ports number
- Check Allow Obfuscation connections only
- Don't on KAD

Side effects of this, you unable connect to older version of client, on the other hand, less sources. This is what I'm doing now.

Anyway, that's up to you. notworthy.gif

icon_rolleyes.gif See, I got it.

You really2 need to keep them away! That's a fake server! No jokes.. Tell your friend at US to do the same too. Of course, the server itself don't have any problem, you still can get connected, but I doubt that they really assigned you a "Real" HighID. All this fake servers are running by Gov or Copyrighted Industries.

Please2 check the first post of this thread, theres a list of verified servers, and you can check my sig too for real serverlist, or if you want to know more about fake servers. 62.241.53.16 is the only DonkeyServer No.2. So, guys.. don't be fooled around. cool.gif

OT: I just got a "latest news" from my eMule
"9/27/2006 1:31:17 PM: Warning DonkeyServer No2 (62.241.53.16:4242) - this server is going to reboot on a new version"

So, anarchist.. I think you need to connect to other server first at the moment, es: DS No.1. DonkeyServers No.2 are now updating their server.

Sorry for my english. smile.gif

EDIT: Sorry, I was too exciting just now but I forgot to answer your question. tongue.gif

Nope, I not facing any difficulties when connecting to servers, es: the DonkeyServers. Unless I got a really bad internet connection, but that's not a big deal, just reconnect again. Download/Upload capacities and Connection Limits, it need to set according to your line, es: Mine RM66 package, My Download/Upload capacities is 43/21KB (I set it 70% of my line), after limit it will be: 38/16KB. While my Max Sources is 200, and Connections Limit is 400

EDIT: sorry, wrong figures

No problem, we just go it step by step (but I have to go now). notworthy.gif

www.UseNeXT.to (212.112.243.146:4443), I never try this before.. So I'm not really sure. Besides, in my serverlist, theres only 3 server.. DS No.1-3. Now connected on DS No.1 rolleyes.gif

I have reply your question in the previous post. Have a nice day.

@anarchist
Actually that's something I forgot to say, you can set all the limits through the Wizard (Options>Connection>Wizard). Select the OS you use, type in the correct bandwidth, then eMule will configure the correct settings for you. Anyway, just as a reference, if you have already know this.

Personally I would suggest to tuned down the Download/Upload capacities a bit, well you know how bad TMnutz was.. 13% users eating up 73% of bandwidth. Set it 50-70% of your line, it should be OK.

Just my 2 cents, if you think your settings give you a better result, then go right ahead. smile.gif

EDIT:

What I mean is you need to check the second option too, the "allowed only obfuscation connections". So, theres will be no more communication with client other than 0.47b and 0.47c. We going to make everything Obfuscate.

Welcome masterelr, do you mind to spend some time to read the entire thread carefully, and this too Help & Supports. It contain a lots of useful information bout eMule, make sure you take a look.

For the disconnect issue, I'm not really sure what happened to your eMule.. coz the less information you're giving. Or can you please show us what written in the Log (under server tab). You got a High Or Low ID?

Who tell you that the speed isn't affected? whistling.gif
