ANNOUNCEMENT

TMNET TEMPORARY SERVICE DISRUPTION DUE TO INTERNATIONAL LINK OUTAGE

TM Net Sdn Bhd would like to inform its customers that its Internet service is currently experiencing a slight drop in performance caused by several outages due to service degradation at some of its international links to China, Taiwan and the United States. This is due to the APCN2 (Asia Pacific Cable Network 2) submarine cable fault between Shantou, China and the South China Sea, near Philippines that occurred at 11.30 p.m. on 12th March 2006.

The international providers are carrying out rectification works in stages and the restoration exercise is expected to be completed by Friday, 17 March 2006. Meanwhile, the company would like to inform its customers that this had caused major downtimes on several TM Net international transit and peering links, mainly to the said countries.

As a result, TM Net is currently running slightly short on international capacity due to the problem. Therefore, some Internet users in Malaysia and other parts of Asia may be experiencing some delay when assessing content and websites hosted in Taiwan and China.

TM Net has taken immediate action to divert some traffic through other back-up links in Taiwan and China to reduce the traffic congestion and is currently working closely with the cable restoration team for the cable failure that has occurred.
We will be making an announcement as soon as services have resumed.
TM Net Sdn Bhd apologizes for any inconvenience caused but at the same time we would like to assure you that what we are doing is necessary in order to restore the service as soon as possible.

Customers can call the 24-hour TM Net Customer Interaction Centre at 1-300-88-9515 or 1-300-88-1515 from 8:00 a.m. till midnight or email at custcare@tm.net.my for further enquiries about the service.

So infiniteX, how bout u letting us know about your download speed? Kind to share? What is your condition of your p2p?

you seems like you don't have download problems.

italianjob: Check out the credit system on the emule website. Is actually being calculated by download and upload ratio. So read about it in emule website or google it by typing "emule credit system".But it doesn't really apply when you download like EXTREME high sources of file.(like sources more than 800+) that I have tested before. So if you want to know whether u port forwarded correctly then try downloading a file (mp3) which is high in sources. But for now...it cannot be proven because it is an APCN2 problem. This means that the connection of TMNET is cut off from the world. So just wait till things go back normal first.

haha, my standard download speed is 40KB +/- during peek hours.....at midnight can download up to 60KB +/- ...btw, my streamyx package is 512kbps

my download is 1.2 kb only..and my line is SDSL 1.5MB...what to do? Wht so slow? any advise? using v0.47a.

Try to check your DSL Status first in your modem Speciall the DS Margin & US Margin then DS Line Attenuation & US Line Attenuation

Infinitex - you are from KK or a new user? The problem here in PJ /KL is that no amount of tweaking the settings will help bcos of ?traffic shaping? by tmnet. Been using emule for like 3 years and this is definately the end if this keeps up.

Switched to Utorrent but they don't have the stuff that emule has.

If you are really from KK, maybe the link in KK is different in malaysia. So The link have no problems.

Do you meant, even now you don't suffer slo speed download?

Fariz:Thanx for the info on your reply. Then now what is next? Only PJ/KL suffered the slow? But not puchong? That does not make any sense still.....will try something extra tonight to see is it something wrong with the TMNET or my line.

KK do suffer this problem on certain range of IP
for my place Ip starting from x.x.x.3x - x.x.x.254 100% low download speed

hm... while everyone talking with BT... I am the only one who talk to edonkey back to year 2k......then i switched over emule on 2003......then switched over emule mod on 2004
btw, previously i stay in subang USJ...so far so good but after i come back to sabah on august 05, my brother say the streamyx become very slow

Helo...I'm new to emule....which server should I connect too..since there a lot servers there...and need to use the same port as they do?..thanks

Welcome to Emule club ,for connected server i recommend you connect to Donkey Server No 1 cause they more user and files.For port you no need to follow them,just use default or choose yourself a number.

Go to Option-Connection you should see Client Port TCP and UDP,if you didn't change before that's is default number,try to use this first.

so tmnut is shaping BT by area?maybe they are shaping BT bandwidth in town which is because town got more users.maybe i need to shift back to kampung now

need 2 wait TMNET to solve the problem on the international link
after tat and see the speed got increase or not ..
if not then juz think wat should do ... lol

why ur download connection can go till 40KB? Mine Just 1KB + and sometimes 0!! Shit..what happen? Somemore SDSL...

I think PJ/KL area link to the international is still not fix. Each area have different link to the outside world. Probably KK uses the japan or indonesia link so that's why there are no problem with speed.

That is my assumptions. I begin to feel fed up. If the link is broken, I believe surfing the web will have problems too,but websites are not affected. That really make me very curious and wonder.
