QUOTE(maclover @ Jun 5 2010, 06:35 AM) well, i'm currently not in malaysia. studying overseas, i got a 3 months old gh1 kit for 4k. =) i really hope to hear some c-mount lens here. i've seen alot countries, they make use of m4/3's smaller sensor with these lens. and they produce awesome pictures and videos. There isn't much people in Malaysia using non-native lens with adapter (except a couple of forumers I've come across)... my suggestion is you could try one of these groups in Flickrhttp://www.flickr.com/groups/c-mount_/ http://www.flickr.com/groups/1084614@N23/ http://www.flickr.com/groups/1273669@N25/discuss/ I hope it helps |

QUOTE(DaiNgau @ Jun 6 2010, 10:15 PM) Have anyone tried the battery lasting after charged??? i tried my e-p1 and already took 607 shots in raw but battery indicator still haven't even showed half of usage.. nice With the LCD on or off?I usually don't 100% drain the battery before charging, so don't know how long GF-1 battery can last, but I guess it should be around 380 shots with LCD on, as per the Spec This post has been edited by samurai1337: Jun 6 2010, 11:16 PM |

QUOTE(-kytz- @ Jun 7 2010, 08:22 PM) I don't think so - at least for now NEX is far away from being perfect:1. Lack of manual controls, for just changing ISO you may need a few presses to navigate thru the menu 2. Big size of lenses - I've no idea why many people are so attracted to the small and thin body, but with APS-C sensor the lenses (especially zoom) will be much bigger compare to a m43 sensor. In term of portability, M43 potential is still bigger than NEX 3. Not everybody likes its adventurous and futuristic design (Mr.LKM for example) 4. M43 has the 1 year+ advantage ahead of NEX. It's a joint venture by Olympus + Panasonic and it's by any chance more mature compare to NEX, for example - 3 lenses from NEX as opposed to 11 lenses from M43 as of now, not to mention M43's endless possibility to use legacy lenses via adapters To say NEX5 is competing with M43 is right, to use the word "destroy" is an overstatement. At the end of the day, we as the consumers should be happy with the competition of these manufacturers and the choices we have This post has been edited by samurai1337: Jun 8 2010, 01:29 AM |

Edited my comment -kytz-
APS-C sensor does directly mean better image quality, but it doesn't mean it will downright beat M43 camera. For example, NX10 doesn't really directly prove that its image quality is superior over Oly/Panny camera Here's a little comparison between NX10, NEX and E-PL1 http://dpreview.com/reviews/SonyNex5Nex3/page13.asp QUOTE(kevafk @ Jun 8 2010, 02:30 AM) dunno for me b4 buying e-pl1.. friends told me to wait for sony's nex but when i look at it.. design kinda ugly, honestly i like the silver metal looks but it looks too small/slim to hold em.. well im not sure coz i have not tried it... so far e-pl1 does all the job for me even with standard kit lens.. cant wait for my 20mm panny.. My friend told me while it doesn't look ergonomic, the grip is quite stable when you hold it on hand. The shape does look sort of weird though I think for normal shooters like me I'm happy with GF1 at least for the next 1-2 year This post has been edited by samurai1337: Jun 8 2010, 02:43 AM |

QUOTE(mersey96 @ Jun 11 2010, 01:03 AM) yeah I checked around but the price is RM200++ No problem... it adds quite a bit of thickness to the lens IMOcan you do me a favor? Can you snap a pic with lens+filter so that I can estimate how thick it is? ![]() That's a typical Panasonic price This post has been edited by samurai1337: Jun 11 2010, 03:11 AM |

Forget about 2mdh / 3mdh
My 4mdh is just enough for GF1 with 2 lenses |

Haha, my experience is the quality would never match a true Wide angle/fisheye (just like close-up filter never beats real macro lens). But it's quite affordable if you just wanna have fun

QUOTE(D@Ne @ Jun 18 2010, 04:44 PM) Oyes, it does attracts a lot of attention when i'm just hanging it around my neck when wandering in Phnom Penh for some street shot. A group of young female student approached me to check out my chest (oops! I mean my E-P2 with EV2) I wasn't that lucky thoughWas approached by an uncle in DCIM 2010 (Midvalley) to check-out my GF1.. He said he's interested to get one but it's quite pricey still |

awyongcarl: Splendid details!
I don't take too much pics lately due to WC fever and seldom go outdoor. But a bit sad when England played so bad ![]() (20mm f/1.7, ISO100, ss 0.5s) Will post in gogo2's M43 gallery thread if i have new pic |
