E-PL1 + 20mm f1.7 is awesome for indoor shooting

it all depend on what you shoot..if your shot a scene with lot of dark shadow you should use spot metering cause otherwise it will try to lift the shadow area...nikon and canon metering do it automatically but ep2 dont..so is whether you know your camera or not.

exposure also play an important role..try using a sony nex with f5.6 and olympus with f1.4 and see who got more noise..

so noise is not about sensor alone..a lot of ppl fail to see that..

i can generate lots of noise with sony a3xx series slr..why is that? camera no good? or sensor lousy? or donno how to expose properly..same like nikon d90..u think i cannot generate ugly noise out of it? yes i can..so does it mean d90 sensor also lousy? so it depend on how you use it..

I sold off my A300 with flash n lens, because i feel its not mobile enough for my travel, and sometimes asswipes would treat me as some paid cameraman during events and i don't like that.

I'm currently interested in m43 as the pic quality is good and it is compact enough for me to lug around.

What would be the best choice ?

70-300 is the best tele lens ever..small light cheap sharp..but but slow

happy GF1 owner here, just extend my warranty to 4years, 2years panasonic and another 2 years by shop warranty.

i'm new to this hobby, quite harder to me to play manual especially to set aperture, shutter, ISO and etc with manual settings.

stabilized doesn't mean no blurry picture at all... possibly just effective for 3-4 stops only

if u shoot at 1/15 and u have shaky hands, u'll still end up with blur picture even if u have in body stabilizer...

both picture in low light condition, quite hard for me to find good setting, some time to blurry..

tried NEX5 with kit lens yesterday and I think I may have problem. Its between NEX5 (twinkit lens) or EPL-1 (twinkit lens)..

Help me out please!!!!

i'm quite unclear about the problem you are facing. if you mean fixing m43 lens on NEX5, then it's a non-issue at all. NEX5 uses aps-c sensor system not micro 4/3, so it's incompatible with any m43 lens.

True. I live in KL so lens stock is not an issue. However, pricing is hehehehe... Most shops quote me around RM15xx. m43 system is pretty pricey at the moment. Even the 14-150mm costs RM23xx.
I've tried the NEX-3 and NEX-5 over the weekend and this is my take on the system. I have no doubt the sensor can take pretty good pictures and noise performance. But I'm doubtful about the lens. It is not as detail as Olympus/Panasonic. Color wise is pretty good but it seems to be a tad soft to my liking. I'm not sure if the AA filter is strong or it has something to do with the distance between lens and sensor (since NEX-3/5 is so thin). The focusing is fast, accurate and silent. Too bad the lens (18-55) spoil the design. Too big hehe. The 16mm is equally soft too. Also the shutter lag is pretty long. Continuous shooting is fine but single frame is long. Although the E-PL1 does exhibit shutter lag but NEX-3/5 seems to be longer (not sure if this is setting related).

Operation wise is ok provided you have preset everything. Say for example in the middle of using the camera, you decide to change some settings here comes the nightmare. Browsing and browsing in the menu hehehe! LCD display quality is perfect. The swivel is brilliant. Also the lack of the hotshoe is disturbing. The proprietary flash isn't going to cut it.

For these reasons, I would recommend the E-PL1 twin kit lens or just the body (if you feel the AF is slow to your liking). I've seen and read a few success stories about coupling the E-PL1 body with Panasonic 14-45mm and 20mm. The only problem the Oly PEN system have is the 14-45's slow AF motor. I think the 14-150mm lens with MSC will be quick but I have not tried it yet. If you have the budget, that configuration could be the ideal one. Then you slap in Panasonic 20mm later.
