Yeah Im aware of the 105C mark but wont continuously going to 99 reduce the lfiespan?
*

it does reduce but it will be enough to last 3yrs. So if u want to last longer, get the temp down further.

Lifespan, nobody knows.
But Ivy will not degrade like Sandy for sure.
It is durable.

i was wondering...alot of reviews out there or advice from other forum keep saying, if you are going for OC better get 2500k...else 3570k for non OC...my question is that...if is non oc 3570k...how is the temp comparing with 2500k? in both of them stock speed...

The difference should be roughly ~4-6c under full load. Lots of discrepancies however with our weather and depending if you're in an aircond room or not along with the ambient temp of the casing all playing a role in the temps. Could be even higher in fact.

On a side note, if non-OC then why the heck get a 3570k when one can pay RM60 less for a 3570 (without a k) and they perform as fast as each other.

previously i used double-sided tape.
Now running topless. Shaving off 8-10C from running with IHS. thumbup.gif
Recommended replacement TIM is Coolaboratory Liquid Ultra (niclasteoh) or the better Pro (import from overseas)

temp at the same strength roughly no difference.
3570K @ 4.5GHz performs as fast as 2500K @ 4.7GHz.
3570K OC better than 2500K. 63X vs 57X.

Is this a sign that my thermal paste needs to be changed? Recently been meddling with my cooler because it was loose, never read instruction properly.. Now I got it right, the temp hovers at 65C on idle(normally 50 or below). And once it gets hot on load, it wont go down after that...

If you can still get 2500k, get it. They are officially eol now. Your last chance to try your luck getting a CPU that can run 5ghz 24/7 biggrin.gif

Well it performs as fast as an i7 but at the i5 price. I saw the Xeon chip in Intel website which states that it doesn't have idle states. Does this mean it will always run at fixed clocks?
