I wonder if I should go to KFW. I am too slow for myself.

I'll probably be the first customer to supply his own paper pattern, as well as collar linen, canvas, and melton, and gimp and thread and this

I doubt they're pants are tailored lah. Nowadays if you're near sample size you can get very well fitting pants off the rack.

Not if you want it to fit like this...

Come on deriku, the guy will go with a G2000 or Padini something. The moment he actually steps foot into Granoff and hears of their prices. He can barely tell the difference between trousers and jacket anyway.

Tried a few white balance modes and exposure compensation to get an accurate shade of brown

The deviation between seller's pics and the actual cloth can be huge. This is the seller's pic of the Dormeuil above:

Did he say he'll call you once done? No tailor has actually called me even when they said so. Then I'd call them them and they'd say it was done a long time ago and yes please come collect.

Of course. It's something of a secret project, I do not tell anyone in real life about this. Would freak them out.

Those lapels are a classic 3.5". The white tape demarcates the boundary of the lapel. The extra cloth beyond that is for seam allowance and will be trimmed away.

Have you thought about being a tailor professionally?
*
Right now it is just a hobby. I'm quite happy with my day job and it pays quite well.

he takes the term bespoke suit to a whole new level
*
Actually I am taking the term back to its original meaning. Once upon a time all suits were made like this. Today, few are made this way and they tend to cost a lot.

QUOTE(PIMPIN @ Jul 27 2011, 02:54 AM)
Hi,

Not sure if this is the right thread for my question so apologies in advance if I'm going too far OT.

I've recently lost a fair bit of weight so the suits that I have are now obviously too big. I know that most people would probably go for an entirely new wardrobe but I'd like to know if I should try go back and see what can be done.

Basically, I'm keen to find out what others have done in the event of weightloss since suits can't exactly be replaced overnight.

Thanks in advance.

If it was custom made it should be alterable. A few hundred ringgit.

With that sort of budget RTW (with alterations) is the way to go, not cheap tailors.

Alterations by bespoke tailors are favours. Nobody ever made a good living off alterations. So bring them back to the tailor who made them.

For about RM400, u can get a fused poly or mixedwool tailormade suit, at the tailors in Pudu Plaza.
Cheapest quote in recent times was about RM250 from a tailor in Port Dickson.
All prices include fabric.

These poly suits may not be Styleforum, AskAndy or LYN forum approved, but u may very well end up liking it and get a lot of use out of it until u decide to get a better suit.

Heck, even some branded RTW (eg Zegna) and SavileRow suits are fused...

If ur ever on holiday in Thailand or Vietnam, u might even get cheaper prices for suits comparable in quality & making to the fused tailored suits here.

p.s. was at Kamdar and saw horsehair canvassing on halflined Korean made suit jackets (old stock), on sale at less than RM100...huhu!

right, and instead of looking good, everybody remembers you as the guy who wore that poly apek suit
