The lapel buttonhole seems too small. It should be at least an inch wide.

Can't you all see that his friend is wearing the pants way to low? I can see his budcrack even with the jacket on.

I would never fail to notice any exposed buttcrack. They are not visible here.

But the sleeves are waaay too long. How is one expected to use one's hands?
*
That is the perfect lala sleeve length ler. The convention is to wear it with french cuffs flipped out of the jacket sleeves. No cufflinks required.

Added on September 27, 2010, 2:22 amBut then he follows the half an inch linen show rule. I think your friend needs to start with his shirts first, not suits.

Added on September 27, 2010, 2:24 amAnd tell him to wear his pants higher, not hipster.

Added on September 27, 2010, 2:48 amAlso, the balance of his pants are off.Look at how the fabric clings onto the back of his legs and thighs.

My new pants would be using a reverse coil zipper.

What's that?

Just imagine the inside coil of your zipper is on the outside. It makes for a less bulky fly.

QUOTE(deriku @ Oct 7 2010, 01:09 PM)
Thanks for the comments, will keep them in mind for my next commission. The suit is a product of a single fitting session due to my rather short stay. Picked the charcoal grey worsted as I wanted my first piece to be on the conservative side. I'm based in the land of my forefathers where winters tend to be cold. Any suggestions on what cloths to use?

You have a sharp eye for ALT's work, may I know what gave it away? Or do you happen to be one of the stakeholders there tongue.gif

Rumor has it that Kakmj is ALT's long lost son. They were both reunited last year.

Pants are way too long and baggy. The seat is off.

Waistline is too high, making your waist sit right below your chest. Buttoning stance too high.

Sleeves need some tapering and shortening.

Peak lapels aren't peak enough.

Added on October 10, 2010, 11:58 amLapel buttonholes are missing.

This is ridiculous. I remembered Richard used normal machined shirt buttonholes for jackets. Most probably he has no idea how to make proper buttonholes.

The Minister would probably wear a Batik shirt. You should wear a proper long sleeve shirt, wool pants and polished oxfords.

This is the reason I don't feel like posting anything here sometimes. That philistine is a fool. An utter fool. He's definitely one of the more pathetic lurkers who can rock a singlet, ahpek short pants and TatSeng flip flops everyday and still be able to say "Why bother? Clothes are just clothes. No matter how good it looks, how well it fits, it's only meant to cover my butt." There is no civilization in him.

I think all buttonholes were made by ALT's sister.

So far not a single tailor alive works their buttonholes like grandpa's GDT, not even jeffreyd.

Yours are expectable lah. The bartack is not done properly ler, just a couple of vertical stitches. The unusual part about grandpa's GDT is that he makes the bartack horizontally, not vertically like how most of the tailors were taught to do. The buttonhole is also pleasantly shaped like a graceful teardrop, nothing like a punched hole. This is next level stuff.

Added on November 10, 2010, 9:59 pmHow big is the leg opening of those pants?

Added on November 10, 2010, 10:11 pmAnd who did the pick-stitching?
