QUOTE(hfi @ Jun 3 2010, 10:26 AM)
Its been a depressing season. Rafa leaving can pave the way for either scenarios - depending on the new manager, providing the team a new impetus to go forward. Or worst possible scenario; the sale of our best players: Masc, Gerrard and Torres. The latter seems very probable.

Very dark times indeed.

hi hfi...where were you ?

still dont know who gonna replace Rafa when he's out...but prefer someone that have champion material in him...

Reds quiet on Benitez speculation

Liverpool are still to comment on reports manager Rafael Benitez is poised to leave Anfield.

It has been claimed the club are in discussions to bring the Spaniard's six-year tenure to an end.

The 50-year-old's position has been the subject of speculation for some time, particularly with the Reds finishing a disappointing seventh in the Barclays Premier League this year. It is understood Benitez would be entitled to a £16million pay-off if his current contract was terminated now, but talks are thought to be under way to reach a settlement.

A figure of £3million compensation for Benitez to leave now has been widely mentioned, which would allow him to seek immediate re-employment elsewhere.

Benitez, linked with Real Madrid and Juventus in recent months, is now being tipped as a potential successor to Jose Mourinho at European champions Inter Milan.

Reports meetings were taking place began to circulate on Wednesday night but the club did not comment and again declined to do so on Thursday morning.

Benitez's agent Manuel Garcia Quilon has also remained tight-lipped, saying on Wednesday night: "We don't know anything more than what's being said. We're not saying anything."

Former Valencia boss Benitez succeeded Gerard Houllier at Liverpool in 2004 and led the club to Champions League success in his first season.

He followed that with FA Cup victory in 2006 and another Champions League final appearance 12 months after that, but the Premier League title has remained elusive.

Liverpool finished runners-up to Manchester United in 2009 but have since slipped back alarmingly.

im not Rafa hater but just lose confidence with him...what happen last season, really make me disappointed...after he give the best, and get second in league, i can consider, he loose his steam and get lower than second maybe 3rd or 4tth places....but 7th place ? hmmm

just look at his achievement ...2 Champion league Final, FA Cup and beat ManUtd...in 5 years...that's mean he got something there...i would like to give one more chance for him to correct what he has done this year..and after that...i would like to have a new manager...theres a lot of candidate out there...but to have a manager that can bring us the title....still in doubt....from statistic many of them like GHiddink, Frank Rijkard, Pellegrini can be our manager....but who knows what happen in the future...Rafa that bring Valencia La Liga title, still cant bring us EPL title....

well, something must be done...and hope all this bad things will end sooner and let the glory days shine again ....god bless LFC.. cry.gif

Rafael Benitez said: "It is very sad for me to announce that I will no longer be manager of Liverpool FC. I would like to thank all of the staff and players for their efforts.

"I'll always keep in my heart the good times I've had here, the strong and loyal support of the fans in the tough times and the love from Liverpool. I have no words to thank you enough for all these years and I am very proud to say that I was your manager.

"Thank you so much once more and always remember: You'll never walk alone."

Alonso hopes for Gerrard reunion

Xabi Alonso would be delighted to see former Liverpool team-mate Steven Gerrard join him at Real Madrid.

Jose Mourinho, who attempted to prise Gerrard away from Anfield during his time at Chelsea, has hinted that he could be interested in the England midfielder and the Spanish press reported on Friday that a €30 million bid is in the offing.

Alonso says he still holds his former club in high regard but suggested he would relish the chance to play alongside the Liverpool captain once more.

"We will see what happens," he said. "Steven is a legend at Liverpool and I have a lot of respect for Liverpool's fans and also the club, but it is clear that he's an awesome player. He has an incredible quality."

Madrid are also believed to be considering a move for Roma midfielder Daniele De Rossi.

Im very sure that Kenny was good and even better for his time when managing Liverpool...but these day, it is not suitable for him to manage Liverpool, time has change the way manager manage football club..

BUT i believe he has a good way/vision/style of his own and used that advantage as a benchmark for a new manager...

Al Fayed: Hodgson won't leave for Liverpool

Mohamed Al Fayed is confident that Roy Hodgson will decide to remain at Fulham if Liverpool do attempt to recruit him as Rafa Benitez's successor at Anfield.

Hodgson is viewed as one of the leading candidates to replace Benitez having enjoyed a tremendous season by steering Fulham to the Europa League final, where they were defeated by Atletico Madrid.

Since being appointed in January 2007, Hodgson has enjoyed a successful time at Craven Cottage and enjoys the unwavering support of his chairman.

Al Fayed hopes Hodgson will reciprocate that faith by turning down Liverpool, should they make a formal offer.

"I don't think he'll leave me," Al Fayed told the Sunday Mirror. "I'm sure he'll have lots of approaches from other clubs, but I give him anything he wants to reach results and we have a very good relationship."

Roy Hodgson agrees £3m-a-year deal to become new Liverpool manager

Roy Hodgson will be named Liverpool manager today after agreeing a two-year deal to replace Rafa Benitez.

Anfield bosses have ended a month-long search for Benitez's successor after assessing a short-list that also included Manuel Pellegrini and Didier Deschamps.

Anfield bound: Roy Hodgson will today be confirmed as the new Liverpool manager

Hodgson's experience and recent track record at Fulham gave him a decisive edge, and he will begin his Anfield reign with immediate effect on a two-year deal worth around £3million a year. Fulham will receive around £2.5m in compensation.

The 62-year old will bring assistant-manager and goalkeeping coach Mike Kelly with him to Anfield and will waste no time trying to persuade Steven Gerrard and Fernando Torres to stay put.

Gerrard is a leading target for the Spanish club along with Chelsea left back Ashley Cole. Real director general Jorge intend to bring in two more players, following the arrival of Argentina winger Angel di Maria from Benfica in a £20million deal.

Alan Curbishley has been installed as the clear favourite to replace Hodgson as manager of Fulham. The former Charlton and West Ham boss is on a short list at Craven Cottage which also includes Sven Goran Eriksson and Mark Hughes.

Former England manager Eriksson, who is a free agent after standing down as Ivory Coast coach, is aware of Fulham's interest and would be tempted by a return to the Premier League. Hughes has rejected the chance of a lucrative contract with Dubai team Al Ahli.

Yup along with not throwing beach balls  brows.gif . we (i bet) have learned our lesson.
i digress  blush.gif
The things is, i have a gut feeling RH will go simple. (i've work with some englishmen, they tend to go simplistic in running things) , we all know germans are renowned strict disciplinarians>work ethics, english I find them almost opposites.

We all know our ex manager goes ultra double, trible tactical & sometimes it bore the hell out of our fans. I guess if we retain the core squad we'll go very english in our style. kick, hammer the opposition goal, which may result in high goals sometimes either way... patient continential style, i doubt RH will employ it much unless he surprise all by having RH's LFc approach first defensively to cut out leaky defence. (high balls in???)

we'll see. too soon to speculate. he's here. Will hope he can change some seniors minds of leaving. we'll see

let see when we play Al Hilal....

while i'm trying to be open minded about this, somehow i do resonate your views.

its no way to treat our new shirt sponsor, certainly no-no to let some people benefit from something that is happening to our club

and i dont see how the shirt gives any message about kicking out our owners. good design, might appeal more to MU and Everton fans

how u guys think?
*
im agree with you...we are at war with our owner...and why SC has to do with this....they should redesign the shirt again....
