Personally , I game for the experience not for a living or for winning competition. Gun shots sounds like wacking plastic bag on all of the gaming headphones i tried on . It's hard to believe a hd 800 or k 701 user can actually jump down to gaming headphones .. btw what is your 5/2 channels dac ?

i cant really play fps.. i got dizzy too fast its not even funny.
i can play S4 tho, since its a 3rd person, and also since the 3d is sensible, not fish-eyed or boxed.. (reads unreal/quake based 3D engine).
cant really test that, but can always test movies (real 5.1 dvd, 3 or 6 channel blu-rays..)

i do know that listening to sounds alone, a 5.1 setup (i got 5.1 speaker) messed up the imaging with a single point bass sound..
no matter if you see the boom is from.. your right, behind, left, center, front, etc.. boom always comes from the subwoofer, wherever its positioned.
not good for movies imho.
also.. i found it very hard not to mess up the imaging of the sound, too close to each other, the sound overlaps, becomes fuzzy, etc.
to far away and the sense of space is lost. angle and seat position plays a big role as well.

i havent tried 5.1/7.1 headphone yet.
i was actually told that roccat kave 6 driver headphone actually does better position imaging than that person's AD300.
it also runs its own dsp to support its own multi driver, usb powered, can be turned off/on.
drawback is throw sound quality and tonality out of the window. turning the dsp off improves the sound, but u lose the 3D.

Well, I guess the best thing would be still letting your friend to try them on. We all know, Opinions are best to keep to ourself.
Personally I could care less about the SQ during a game as long as it doesn't go bad. I'm just going to concentrate on the game itself anyway, long as the headphone produces what's necessary and crucial. And the built-in Mic on these headsets are just handy, I suppose. (Go ahead and laugh at me, I am using Alienware TactX headset for gaming lol)

hi mates, my fren told me that m50 no longer oderable through his supplier.. new model replacing it... any one got news to verify this? lol.

im not against u for using alienware..
if u found it good for ur use, then u r using the right tools for its purpose. im also curious how bad is the bias of opinion on these gaming headphones.
i do know for the same price, audiophile branded stuff may give better music quality, but im not sure if i can say the same about gaming qualities.

but if u ask my honest opinion.. a lot of things sounds bad to me already.
call me drowned in musical abyss.

Sound quality usually the headphone makers have a slight edge but only for their high end or mid to high product...their low end like these gaming headsets all from the same sourced OEM drivers from China or Taiwan such as Fostex or DAIN or other big company who cater similar products...Its just audio company tends to have better response due to their outlook design or their brand

The price i got for it was Rm170 or something, so okay lar. At least the it's doing what it should properly.
