Aperture whacked RAM like nobody's business... doh.gif

Not sure if I should max it out to 8GB, since I seldom use Aperture that much... sweat.gif

oi how much is that? whats the performance like
*
estimated around RM 540, bought online with an external case bundle... can consider good bargain already...

I'm not into benchmarking, but coming from a 5400rpm previously, I'd say my MBP is really much more responsive...

I haven't got time to test or play with it yet, still busy with work... sweat.gif

Added on June 28, 2010, 6:59 pmJust wanna add:

The drive is of course, slightly warmer due to faster spins. Can feel the warmth on the lower right palm rest area, but as for noise and vibration - none of a problem at all...

I've noticed my MBP fans spin up much more frequently but then again it could be due to the heavy data read/write from OS restoration and my ongoing work...

will the 12.5mm 2.5" HDD (750GB or 1TB) fit into mid 2010 mbp 13/15/17? I'm getting mixed responses of yes and no.

If you're looking at the 750GB, the latest iteration is 9.5mm... only the 1TB is at 12.5mm, and spins slower at 5,200rpm instead of 5,400rpm...

But then again, I have not seen 750GB anywhere here...

Bought an i5 MacBook Pro 15". So far loving it , no complains or what-so-ever yet except it gets bit hot
*
Some ppl actually claimed the i7 is slightly cooler than i5.

Like mine, I have no complains about heat so far, cool to touch even when plugged onto power with GT330M enabled. The only time I stressed my MBP is when doing video encoding, it reaches 100 degrees before the fan speed up to bring it down to 80... sweat.gif

You stressed your MBP kao kao izzit...? brows.gif

nobody tried that app to switch gpus ?
*
been using it for over a month already... tongue.gif

I've even contacted the developer to implement a kill switch for the default MBP display when connected to external so that I don't have to put my MBP to a brief sleep to trigger the latter to work... you have something like this in mind from your hackintosh world...? brows.gif

It's all stated on the videos, so yes...

Whether or not you bought your stuff from OWC, their videos should at least give you some ideas on how to DIY some of the stuffs without forking out money for services...
