Looking for a medium size soda-can size torch+thrower. The 4x18650 seems last longer than other similiar model/range single-cell. Any comments or other suggestions ?
Already have a head-light and a small pocket / EDC. Not into large long-range thrower >1000m yet. Sofirn Q88 Pro |

Seems to be discontinued according to customer support on shopee Try checking the second-hand market in FB group Kelab Torchlight Budget MalaysiaI sold my 5000K version over there within 3 hours of posting it online The XHP50.2 5000K emitter is difficult to source or maybe out of production already, the reason why Sofirn discontinued the 5000K version |

QUOTE(Watta?? @ Dec 28 2021, 01:54 PM) yeah.. been over there searching for few days and keeping an eye out there but can't find one yet.. My opinion will be biased coz I'm a tint snob Is the 5000k version much more comforting to the eyes compared to the 6500k? Nothing can beat the rosy pink of Nichia 219B For any "flooder", I will opt for neutral/warmer tint albeit at the slight expense of brightness Especially if you need the light for very close-up illumination It doesn't strain the eyes as much as colder tint for prolong usage |

Budget: max RM120+
Brand: Fenix, Nitecore, Olight, Thrunite, can recommend others too Lumen: as high as possible? Battery: Either built in or can use those rechargeable AA / AAA Distance: around 60M? Usage: Sometimes i take late night LRT, and might be going through streets that are not so well lit. Occasionally checking car's bonet. Appreciate sifu2 mia recommendations. So far I'm looking at Nitecore Tini 2 and TIP SE. Is there any model that is similar to this? This post has been edited by briantwj: Apr 7 2022, 11:47 AM |

You may look for Nitecore MH series, but may need to up your budget a bit. Try MH10v2 I have TIP SE, but I would recommend something brighter. I walk at night a lot and TIP SE may not be enough for your purpose. This post has been edited by MyWifeCar: Apr 8 2022, 02:24 PM |

My experience, TIP SE is more suitable for confine area like Living area, bed room... Now I'm looking at Nitecore Tactical Pen lol It will still work walking in a dark lorong, but may not be suitable. Good Luck. This post has been edited by MyWifeCar: Apr 8 2022, 05:17 PM |

For safety, not only the brightness but also strobe function for self-defense. It's okay, you may considering TIP for indoor/confined space and getting another for night walk. MH10v2 is good, gotten it at discounted price during 9.9, but still slightly beyond your budget. Else, another good choice at low budget is Sofirn. https://pictr.com/images/2022/09/17/E5IeuO.md.jpg [url=https://pictr.com/image/E5IvyY][img]https://pictr.com/images/2022 Attached thumbnail(s) |

My 14500 rechargeable battery charged to 4.2v 14 months ago...
I put it in flashlight and didn't use. I taken out the battery and checked the voltage , drop to 3.8v. Should i charge the battery to 4.2v and keep it one side ? If blackout and no electric...i can use flashlight as candle. Is it wise to charge the battery to max 4.2v and keep it ? |

I think best way is keep it outside. After 1 year still got 70% battery power ...more than enough for whole night use if blackout happen. |

QUOTE(cba5566 @ Mar 9 2023, 12:37 PM) Thanks for the info. the batt will discharge whether inside light or not, just the rate of discharge is different, if keep batt separately most probably the drain will be less than if the batt is in the light, or, u can use a small plastic sheet to separate batt terminals to light's contact, then no current will go tru, when u need to use it, just uncap and remove the plastic pcs enough dThe fully charged battery inside the flashlight will drain current itself. I think best way is keep it outside. After 1 year still got 70% battery power ...more than enough for whole night use if blackout happen. if u using AA, AAA like me, buy rechargeable ones, confirm u need to rotate them for remote controls and other things, so confirm will have extra that is 100% when u need to use it |
