Go try Impluse.

I think it's a bit slow in Malaysia, but nevertheless, another very stable platform.

Same,for Diplomancy. tongue.gif

The only problem with Sins is, it takes too much time to play.

Same with Total War series.

It's the kind of game that you wanna have on a deserted island.

Or play when you have nothing to do.

Perfect game to kill time.

Ok, I take away all criticisms about Impulse speed....

I have Sins and Galactic Civilizations 2 downloading together right now.

They are at about 200-220kbs each while wife is watching movies through streaming in the next room...

Been a while since I saw such speed whether in Steam, torrents or whatever... my usual bandwith is limited to a "normal" 170-180Kbs...
My ISP must have moved a switch somewhere...
And yar, I may be moving soon so no more Intrnet, such kind of games are great to play in this kind of situations  tongue.gif

Im getting good speeds when im in Australia, but when im in Malaysia, it's pretty slow. Not sure why.

how about discussing it in Impulse thread?
*
I dont remember seeing any Impulse thread around here.

Also, most of the Impulse sales dont apply to us,except the current Sins offer. Therefore, i really dont see the need of opening another thread on Impulse.

impulse seems to give some good sales.. why not another sticky thread. more choices.
*
Most of the discounts does not apply to us,like the ME and DA bundle.

Thats what makes Impulse less attractive for non Americans.

Cheese, have you figured out how do i find you in impulse? I'm kinda good in Sins. Been playing it alot in pirated version.
*
I dont really use Impulse, other than updating Sins.

I rarely play Sins these days,as it takes too much time to play 1 game.

Don't get me wrong. It is a decent enough game for most part.

But the core economy mechanics from TA/SupCom is gone. Instead of net mass/production, you have to pay upfront the cost for each units. (yes, for every unit you queue, ala Starcraft). No more spending more than your economy can handle.

Remember the good times when we used to line up power plants next to shield gens/Land factory/etc? Gone. No more adjacency bonus.

Tier 1,2,3 units? Nope. Each faction now gets a generic tank, aircraft, boat with incremental upgrades. Massive experimentals? Heh, now experimentals are cheap and you can spam them!  sweat.gif
Yeah. Not the game I expected.
*
I saw the patching and support of the game is pretty decent,IMO.

Everyone who hates the game i saw pretty much say the same thing as you mentioned.

I guess, when it comes to sequels these days, we dont expect it to the same as the predecessor. If not, disappointment is all you got.

Same thing happen to DoW2, but im used to the new game now,and it's still fun if i dont look at it with CoH or DoW1's mentality.

Heh, well, that's true. That said, I heard many that also enjoyed the simplified mechanics. So it isn't THAT bad. Just not what I expected.
*
I tried the demo, and yea, im disappointed with the base building and some aspects of it. I still think it's a decent game at the end of the day.

Could be a much better game, but GPG stuff it up. Just like DoW2.

Just get it.

I played the solo and I found it quite lacking.

Missions are too easy (except one or two), last about 1 hour max and the story telling is pretty awful.
New economy system really take out the whole SupCom feeling

I never touched the MP but I know that at release they had some big balance issues (basically gunships were unstoppable) and I think some of them are still present (Commander early rushes are too powerful etc.) but yar, it seems they are at least trying to balance things out and they did came out with quite a few patches.

Having such a recent game at 20usd normal price and with a 50% sales so soon does show the sales must not have been that awesome and I can see reasons to that.

For me it went to a "great game" in SupCom1 to a "RtsYouPlayFewHoursThenForget#78593" in SupCom2
*
Thats true, the sudden drop in price just tells us that it is not doing well since release. Even CR is doing much better than Sup Com 2.

Sup Com 2 seem have done worse than DiRT2.

Better think properly first. Considering the fact that i have SC2 in less than 2 months time.

Getting even 20 hours from Sup Com 2 would be hard.

Hey Kian, how is Men of War? Is it like CoH?
*
More like the "adult" version of CoH.

It's much tougher, and much more realistic. It's a good game,to be honest,if you got a lot of time.

Just played Sup Com 2, with 2 campaign missions on Hard.

Not too bad, i would say. The sense of scale is still there, but the scale isnt as big or as epic as Sup Com 1. The gameplay feels still pretty much the same, except that there are a bit dumb downed here and there. The new research tree is a one step in the right direction, as it gives back the missing depth into the game.

The graphics is quite bad,IMO, compared to CoH, DoW2 or SC2, as every thing is monotone. If you are blue, all your units are pretty much in blue with different shades of blue. The environment is pretty much in brown, grey or white all the time. Thats probably my biggest criticism.

I would say: BUY IT, as it's only RM35. It's a decent game with a low price tag,and probably will keep you happy for next 50 hours.

I'll post more if i have the chance to play. So far,the impression is pretty good.

Take it as a new game, not a successor of Sup Com 1.

For once on Steam there are only 3 games on special instead a full stack of other DLC and etc.

Those railroads DLC were starting to get on my nerves.
*
Those railroads DLC have been annoying me since day 1,as they just keep filling up the specials tabs with all those DLC that i dont care.

They arent cheap too,in the first place.
