Epic Games (Unreal Tournament Series) and People Can Fly (Painkiller) collaborate to bring you Bulletstorm, which put players in the shoes of Grayson Hunt, formerly the leader of a black ops team named Dead Echo, now somewhat more pathetic as a drunken space pirate.

Expect brutally gore graphic ala GoW and mass monsters run-and-gun ala Painkiller to be out around next year. biggrin.gif

Story
QUOTE
Bulletstorm tells the story of a futuristic confederation protected by an elite band of mercenaries: Dead Echo. When Dead Echo members Grayson Hunt and Ishi Sato learn they've been working for the wrong side, they're betrayed by their commander and exiled to the far reaches of the galaxy. In Bulletstorm, Grayson and Ishi find themselves surrounded by hordes of mutants and flesh eating gangs in an abandoned paradise. They have two objectives: get off the planet alive, and exact revenge on the man who sent them there.

Gameplay
QUOTE
Players step into the role of Grayson Hunt complete with an arsenal of over-the-top combat moves and outrageously large guns. Bulletstorm's array of distinct ‘skillshots' produces unprecedented levels of frantic gameplay and yell-inducing satisfaction. The skillshot system rewards players for inciting mayhem in the most creative way possible. The more insane the skillshot, the more points players collect to upgrade their character and unlock weapons, which then allows them to execute even more creative moves and exaggerated skillshots.

Old games much more complicated than newer games.

Well, we won't see any UE4 now and not until 2012.

I kinda miss painkiller, especially the stakegun and the the.....all the guns are great which i never get bored with !
Anyway, i like seeing the combo scores and its kinda like F.E.A.R with painkiller. As long there's more stuffs to shoot and more bullets to spare, im in.

The Making Of Bulletstorm's Gory Piles of Meat

user posted image

QUOTE
Just before this year's E3, the people who make Bulletstorm—EA, Epic Games and People Can Fly—sent us a big wad of meat. In was inedible, thanks to the shell casings, teeth and fingers inside. It was gross.

The awful secret of that mystery meat? It was Spam. Well compensated advertising professionals at Wieden + Kennedy were responsible for hand-grinding that processed meat product, stuffing it with personalized dog tags, shrapnel and one USB stick per meat pile, then shipping it off to confused video game media types.

Witness the glamor of it all at the W+K blog, if you're into this sort of freaky shit.

Bulletstorm Spam Musubi is what's for dinner.

Looks like the PC version comes with Games For Windows Live. Which is bad since I was thinking of getting a retail copy - I couldn't activate my copy of Fallout: New Vegas(apparently you can only activate it in Singapore or any other GFWL supported country.

Vegas DOES use Steam. But it uses GFWL at the same time just like Dawn of War II.
The shitty thing is, Microsoft has a say in region locking - which is completely absurd.

GFWL on PC doesnt have region lock (only few number of games in GFWL store are region lock, nobody care about it as it was rubbish game), Steam game does, but u cant even see nor buy games that are already region lock (without proper region hax).
Steam retail games also has region lock but that only happen if local retailer get wrong region stok, usually doesnt happen.

I think you are confused.

If a game has Games for Windows, it just mean, it's a game for PC. Thats all, with certain Microsoft guidelines implemented, like the game must have widescreen support. It also mean, no GFWL.

On the other hand, if a game has Games for Windows LIVE, it's a completely different story, as the game will use GFWL online system. Time for whole lot of annoyance.Such as the pictures below:

GFWL games does have region lock, but it's quite easy to get around it.

It runs on the Unreal Engine 3 so it has to be somewhat optimised for PCs like Unreal Tournament 3/Bioshock?
Disregarding PC optimisation, the game looks like a fresh change from the other grim dark gritty military shooters - I wish the gameplay would be of a faster pace since I like arena shooters.

Im not talking about optimisation. I mean things like post shipping support.

GFWL is a pain to patch, and it also mean that it will not have dedicated servers. Have fun finding games with GFWL.

Im also quite bored with military shooters, but Bulletstorm does not seem to be worth buying for me, as the MP would probably be dead. Thats why im waiting for Brink instead and hope it is not screwed up.

GFWL wasnt that bad if u have friends to play with
is 4 player co-op in anarchy mode, why do need dedicated server anyway, my 1MB line can support 4 players very well

the campaign wont have any co-op though, 4 player co-op only available in Anarchy mode

on the other hand, i send mail to tsb regading retail copy

"Hello,

Bulletstorm requires online authentication / registration. We will
only sell it after it is confirmed it works in Malaysia."

I guess they pretty scare after case like Fallout:New Vegas.

In term of graphic memang PC will be better, i played the demo on console then compare with PC video trailer...

Buy Bulletstorm, Get Gears Of War (One) Free
Newsby Adam Biessener on February 17, 2011 at 06:05 PM 375 Views 6

But only on PC, and only on the least gamer-friendly storefront out there. Microsoft's Games for Windows Live Marketplace is running a deal from Bulletstorm's February 22 launch through March 8.

Is this going to be enough to get you to use GFWLM over other digital or physical retailers? While I like free stuff, Microsoft has a long way to go to make me not find GFWL or its M intrusive and abhorrent.

On the other hand, free stuff…

…if you somehow haven't played Gears of War yet.

Check youbeli website...they already "take out" this game, I mean the PC version...no more in the website already...
Can anybody tell me what hell happen?

Another assumption without basis. Can we have more of these please? This place isn't filled with enough of your baseless rants about GFWL. On a game that has is going to be released in a day in the states no less.

Either that or go back to your DoW2 thread and QQ there.

Baseless rant? Check the GFWL forums and see how pleasant is this thing. Just because you are not having problems, doesnt mean GFWL is even acceptable. Thats a reason why Steam refuse to sell this on non GFWL supported countries, because it's just incredibly annoying if something went wrong.

Im not sure whether this game runs on SSA or non SSA DRM, SSA will give a lot of problem if you set the wrong region. Have fun with it.

It is a great thing that DoW2 dumped this piece of shit. 10 incremental patches are always way better than 1 giant patch in 1 months.

No it's not.Just because it's GFWL doesn't mean it's region locked game.
Region locked game is always XBOX "way of life" but not GFWL.
TSB confirm the game work in Malaysia and is coming this 1st March.

It will. But the retail version will be the first in Malaysia.

@Cheesenium

It is confirmed Bulletstorm GFWL is shipped with SSA and ZDP and is confirmed to work in Malaysia by TSB and is coming this 1st March.
In fact, even the official developer post a little hints on getting this game to work in non-LIVE supported countries.

SSA is better IMO, as you are not stuck to one account.

It will work, with no doubt. The thing is, there is no official support, where when you have problem, it's very annoying to fix. Like ran out of activations for SSA games. The solution is: Call Microsoft at Redmond to reactivate your game. Someone actually did that before, with international call.

It will be better if GFWL drop all these region classification and get rid of this annoying DRM.

Yes except EA-published games.

Bulletstorm GFWL isn't confirm to work in Malaysia until today.
TSB was afraid that it doesn't work in Malaysia as it is the first EA official published game that uses GFWL with the new ZDP system, a system that apparently make many developers happy as even if any of ZDP game is leaked, it is not crackable until official release date (while 360 and PS3 versions got leaked and are playable one week ago) and hence TSB took out the Bulletstorm GFWL page until today.

@Cheesenium I agree with you and I think ZDP should be the standard in GFWL future releases.

I don't see your comment having anything to do with region lock or DRM. But rather, you're saying that the multiplayer will be dead due to GFWL. Which is utterly baseless.

A forum is already mostly a place you look and register for TO REPORT PROBLEMS AND SEEK HELP. Obviously most of the people on the official or even steam forums are going to be the ones complaining. I dare you to find a subforum in the Steam official forums and find a board that doesn't contain complaints on any game.

If GFWL isn't acceptable it shouldn't even be made in the first place. It is acceptable and people have been accepting it since its inception. That's why it's still surviving. To you, perhaps, it isn't acceptable, but don't push that notion onto others, especially with such baseless claims on a constantly improving platform that you, like me, have limited experience with.

I am here to warn other people on the potential problems of this GFWL game.

I have seen lots of complains on other games, that does not have as ridiculous complains as a GFWL game, like someone found out he lost access to a GFWL game because he format regularly or someone bought a GFWL game in UK, and found out he cant play his new SSA DRM game in US. Ubisoft's DRM is pretty bad, not as close as what the worst GFWL can offer. That is the reason why Steam refuse to sell any GFWL on non supported region after so many horror stories of people lost access to their games. I used to read a lot on DiRT 2 forums, and Dawn of War 2 forums, mind you.

Someone took 3 months to talk to Microsoft directly to regain access to his GFWL non SSA game.

Also, tell me does anyone still actively playing Bioshock 2 or GTA4 multiplayer? I dont remember hearing anyone playing those mentioned game online, other than single player.

GFWL is unacceptable, if not, why would Relic rewrite the entire netcode for a 2 year old Dawn of War 2? It's extremely troublesome to do so, and an old game wont get as much profit as a brand new game. Or why Bioshock, Dirt 2 or GTA4 isnt even known for it's multiplayer? The reason is simple, because the whole system is not as good as other offerings. At the same time, it gives a lot of problems to gamers like the infamous Sign in Change problem that some people have. The lack of any official documentation on how the DRM works made it even worse, which is why companies like EA are writing long blog post to explain to gamers on how some of their game's DRM work.

I have a fair amount of experience of this multiplayer system, and yea, the multiplayer is pretty much a wasteland in a lot of cases. Xbox LIVE is very good, but GFWL is just like an alpha version of Xbox LIVE that barely work. The garbage NAT and it's netcode made it hard to use. The thing i hate the most is, despite GFWL is so buggy, Microsoft has made no effort to improve it. There is a new store, but other than that, are there any improvement on the netcode?

GFWL works pretty reasonably if you play with friends, but with the random public, this system is a complete nightmare. Playing DoW2 Last Stand is pretty good with friends, but with the random people in DiRT2, yea, you are pretty much racing with 1 to 2 people out of 8 slots.

Read the spoiler, these are just some of the worst thing i ever heard about GFWL. DiRT 2 is a SSA game, and if im not wrong, it was the first. There arent any documentations, warnings or text at all, and people got locked out from their game. It's not a game on Steam offer, it's a brand new just released game that people bought at full price.

Bulletstorm is also a SSA game, so be careful when you register for a new account.

http://community.codemasters.com/forum/dir...le-my-game.html

I do agree that the SSA b****ing has toned down, but there are still no documentations at all.

The region lock issue exist since 2008, and Microsoft havent even fix this. I have 3 GFWL accounts, also because of this problem as the other 2 is region locked.

http://forums.gamesforwindows.com/t/102.aspx
http://forums.gamesforwindows.com/p/9973/90691.aspx

I cant find the thread on that terrifying support calls with GFWL support, though.

Heard 4.0 is coming, i do hope they will do something about that region lock issue.

Now the reason why some of those games you mentioned are not known for multi player is that primarily they are geared toward the single player experience. In the same way most people just play dead space 2 for the single player, most people will not bother with the MP because, it's just not that good. There's not much of a meta game built around the online communities of GTA4 (which was a bad port resource hogging port anyway) or bioshock 2 (we need another online FPS?), so people don't tend to try to stick around to get good at those games because there are better online experiences elsewhere. Blaming GFWL for people not playing mediocre online experiences is a new and interesting argument to me.

Dirt 2 did in fact have a very healthy online community for many months after it was released. I pugged Dirt 2 and i managed to get a lot of 8 player games.. yes with randoms.. up to 6 months from the date it was released. Now, i know you're one of those starving students who only buys games when they're reduced by 90% on steam a year after they were released, but what do you expect when people have moved on to other games?

In spite of GFWL, SF4 managed to be a pretty decent online experience with a community that stayed around. I did not play DOW2 online much because i moved on to other games but i had a few online games here and there and it was an overall good experience. I guess you must be trolling since by your own admission Bulletstorm is a damned good game but you're not getting it because you're incapable of having fun with any one of your games tied to GFWL.

I do agree that regional locking sucks, but to an extent they have fixed that by not letting people create GFWL accounts with regional settings from a non supported locale. Surely it's not that difficult to enter a US/UK/SG email address.

Alright guys, I played it for awhile. Bought the key from my supplier.

The game itself is practiclly a Fancy Duke Nukem, the kill with skill thing is not something to shout about since once you memorize eveything in the stage you know what to expect. Its basicly a arcade shooter on steroids, imagine Borderlands with but you get to play around with your enemies, from shooting their balls off and kicking them off a mountain. SP is filled with jokes and nice backgrounds, something refreshing from the usual COD gamplay. Sadly its the only thing worth looking at in the game. MP from what i heard is a combo fest gone wrong. Nothing to special as you compete with each other to score points. If you like playing SP games for the sake of having fun, then this game is a decent buy, expect this to be on par with Duke Nukem when it comes out.

Judging from screen shots, it looks pretty good.

How's the gameplay like so far?

Particularly for SP.

online experience is quite nice if you coop with ppl who know what they are doin...rather then those greedy moron who kill enemy bluntly without ever think what are the special kill requirement are...seriously learn bout the game first then only play not just rush in without using your brain...if the gameplay attitude not change maximum team like this will only manage to go until wave 10-12

@CyberSundayz Where did you bought the game?
@kaiser_falco Which retail outlets?
@FrostLance or you could wait for the demo.
@AMDFaiz If you are unsure of it, wait for the demo. You could also read the reviews on gamespot and/or other sites.

Just finished it, the game is worth the buck but only from a casual standpoint. Its it exactly what i said before this, it is a Duke Nukem adventure with flashy gunplay. The story is strong but linear, presented very well to make sure it doesn't get boring. I can see myself loading this game just to blast everything in sight and kick people off buildings. If you love Duke Nukem, you will love this game. Regardless.

Currently having a blast with the SP. Awesome game. Lots of explosive action! Love the intense non-stop relentless shooting. The cheesy dialogue adds to the whole experience of just blast-em' to bits.

OMG..I configured GFWL for so long before I can actually start playing. I bought mine at Heroes Tavern in SS2. I just noticed it but the version I bought is for Singapore market. It has the Singapore M-rating sticker there.

But I have some graphical issues with my copy. Some of the colors appears as 16-bit and some of the textures are missing. Does any of u face this problems?

My PC sepc are;

AMD 955BE
ATI 4870

I'm hoping the solution that CyberSundayz give can help solve my problem.

Added on March 3, 2011, 12:25 amYup. The link that CyberSundayz post manages to solve my issue. Thanks a lot CyberSundayz notworthy.gif

I hope my Singapore version won't cause me any problems biggrin.gif

Thank you Spike putting the already small Bulletstorm community in it's place! That'll show them for supporting a game that they may actually like! No, of course it's not insulting. They did buy a game that was going to be dead amirite? It must feel great to be able to knock people who foolishly bought a game, right?

It was not too long ago that we used to warn forumers for merely mentioning they're playing a pirated copy. We kinda stopped it as it died down or the community would step in to make them feel bad at least

I'm inclined to start issuing warnings again

Hahaha this game mocks the FPS genre by having Wolverine (including the Wolverine voice actor) as the main character, since he can regenerate health by staying out of harm for a few seconds.

The hitbox system in the game for shooting someone in the balls is not so accurate. =V

I wasted more than 20 sniper bullets trying to hit them in the balls - and I'm pretty sure some was a direct hit!

Also I'm having this...really really ugly graphics issue playing this game on my laptop (On my desktop is looks gorgeous) - setting graphics to High still gives me blurry textures and really really ugly 256-color like scheme.

Just finished this on the PC. What a thrill ride from start to the near end!...but the ending itself was anticlimactic.

There still some room for improvements for making this a great shooter and hoping the sequel will be better.

You mean the dropkit?

You can switch it by equipping it on either the Left or Right hand.

You can't switch out the PMC though.

I've gotten quite a few Mercy shots. That's my go-to shot whenever I have just one enemy left to kill.

Basically, just zoom and keep tapping fire, you're bound to hit.

Forgot to mention that every time you hit them, they kind wriggle around in place or something, during which there's often a tiny opening for you to whack em in the family crown jewels.

Still haven't had the patience to try it with the Head Hunter though (Involves using the Thumper)... Hmmm, now when I thikn about it, could work with the Flail Gun as well.

hmm, i have about 30 mercy kills, some by accidental spray
i never had any problem with shotting the crotch. hitbox small and the PMC spreads alot = miss, most of the time it will hit the legs. the tip is shoot their crotch directly from the front and i think only the melee dudes unaffected by crotch shot.

beside that, i have a hard time getting 'fire in the hole' for the miniboss fight sequence. so far only the first miniboss fight, the others i just get regular kills.

i prefer shoving my boot up their ass. man this game has excessive use of boot, i have been kicking ppl 75% of the entire campaign at least for me.

easiest way of earning point is by kicking them of bounds. if i m not mistaken kick them out of a window will give an extra +50 points.

Actually, Gotcha's are only for when you use it on those enemies that can't be leashed normally (The kind which are considered too fast). Either kick or slide into them, leash them once, kill, then you get a Gotcha.

Yeah got it a couple of times... Usually by accident. Not really hard, just inconvenient.

But for 50 points, not really worth it.

I smile everytime I see mini bosses, you know the one with Minigun or Bouncer, I always kick his rear armour in the butt, charge up any weapon of mine and get more than just "Bossed" points.

My point of view about this game:
1. INSTALLATION----give me so much trouble...have to tweak or config some file (get the guide from website)... (5/10)...not like BIOSHOCK 2 (everything smoothly)
2. GAMEPLAY----play the SP in Very Hard, takes less than 10 hours. Overall I enjoy it (9/10)..replay it? Maybe...
Also...the ending just like MW2..
3. GRAPHIC-----7/10....like 16 bit colour..
4. SOUND------7/10

installed mine just fine.

graphic wise, if ur using nvidia cards, besure to update to the latest beta version. the game supports ati cards.

@Foxngn

to get extra points, skillshot 'xray', u need to line ur shots and take out several ppl with 1 shot. the score multiply by how many ppl u killed.

Don't easily jump to conclusion...

The problem is "Games for WIndows - Live cannot connect to the LIVE Service. Please make sure your computer is connected to the internet."

It looks just like this http://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x227/Py...k/ZDPPfails.jpg

Already found the solution from the forum...

Hi there. Did any one experience sudden lag in act 7?

I have just reached act 7 recently and it suddenly starts to lag like hell. Not getting low FPS but the whole screen freezes for several seconds and can continue for a while before it freezes again.

I only encounter this problem in act 7. I manage to play all the previous acts without major lagging issue like those in act 7.

Btw, I'm using original Windows 7 and Bulletstorm. PC specs are Phenom 955BE, 2GB Ram, 512MB 4870. Playing at 1920*1080.

Despite the horrible game update system, GFWL connection seems fine, suprisingly.

It has been a while I play bulletstorm, I totally forgot all the terms to execute a skilled shot.

Yeah even in MP with Abyssio and Edison, the connection is surprisingly fine, as I got frustrated by its connection once in DoW2 Chaos Rising.

Bulletstorm, Witcher 2 Devs Announce Hard Reset, New Studio

QUOTE
A new development studio comprised of game industry veterans who worked on a number of recent big releases has revealed its first game, a science fiction first-person shooter.

Warsaw, Poland-based Flying Wild Hog is a 35-person team consisting of developers and designers who worked at the likes of People Can Fly, CD Projekt RED and City Interactive.

Past titles that team members have worked on include Bulletstorm, The Witcher 2 and Painkiller.

The studio's first game will be Hard Reset, a dark cyberpunk shooter set in a post-apocalyptic world where humanity is on the brink of extinction.

Players take on the role of Major Fletcher, dragged into the conflict between two opposing armies who are looking to remove mankind from the face of the Earth.

The game is due to be released in September 2011 exclusively for PC, and will make use of Flying Wild Hog's own engine called Road Hog, which the studio says will "deliver stunning visuals that bring the game's incredible atmosphere to life."

Bulletstorm Didn't Make A Profit For Epic

user posted image

QUOTE
According to the president of Epic Games, Mike Capps, Bulletstorm didn't make a profit. However, the publisher isn't regretting the project.

The joint project by Epic and People Can Fly "didn't make money for us," said Capps speaking with Kotaku.Instead of mourning the lack of profit, Capps is happy that the company green-lit something different, instead of cashing in on another Gears of War entry.

"The studio has shipped AAA content," he said. "The next thing we do with People Can Fly will be great."

We loved Bulletstorm, and can't wait to see what comes of future collaborations. Hopefully the game will still reward players for groin shots.

That's too bad. I'm playing the game from normal to hard to hardest difficulty back to back and im having a lot of fun. All the weapons are great fun to handle, the killings feel meaty and satisfying (except the sniper rifle lol). The penetrator reminds me of the super awesome stake gun in painkiller, with extra level of gruesomeness. I thought kicking ppl into spikes or off the cliff would be boring after a while but it doesnt get old for me biggrin.gif yet.

There is just one problem in this game. Enemy count are too low most of the time to perform a glorious mass murdering skillshot. Thats all my rant for this game.

edit: okay i lied. Another rant: the multiplayer component handled pretty badly.

Too low? How is that possible? The SP mode was killing loads of enemies from one area to another.

The leash and the boot were a lot of fun.

Most of the time, I enjoyed kicking and shooting em.

Bulletstorm should of had "far larger and far deeper" multiplayer

QUOTE
Epic's Cliff Bleszinski says if he had a time machine and could do "something differently" for Bulletstorm, it would be making its multiplayer much greater.

An "8 campaign and light multiplayer" doesn't cut it in the "used games and campaign rentals" world we now live in. Still he's "immensely proud" of launching the IP.

"Did we consider the game a success? Yes, in regards to launching a new IP in a very crowded marketplace. Honestly, I’m not responsible for the numbers. You’d have to ask our finance guy about that. I’m responsible for gameplay," said Cliff Bleszinski.

"I can tell you we were immensely proud of the product as it turned out. If I could go back in a time machine and do something differently, I’d make sure that the game had a far larger and far deeper multiplayer suite."

"In the world of used games and campaign rentals, when you release a game with an eight-hour campaign and light multiplayer, it’s going to get gobbled up. That’s the reality of the marketplace." Will Epic be diving back in with Bulletstorm? "Not as this time."

Developer Epic Games has about five projects in the works right now so they don't exactly have time to invest in an IP that hasn't performed so well. Right now the studio is prepping for the Gears of War 3 launch on Xbox 360, which is a "better game on every level."

Bulletstorm devs shocked by how much swearing was in their own game

user posted image

QUOTE
The October issue of Game Developer's magazine features a postmortem on foul-mouthed shooter Bulletstorm, which includes one of the greatest anecdotes on cross-cultural development ever. If you've ever had a foreign friend just learning how to swear in your native tongue, you can totally see how Polish developer People Can Fly fell into a snare of its own creation and made a terrible mistake.

"Do you know any swear word in a foreign language? German, French, Polish? When you say it out loud, no biggie, right? Not a problem to use it during a family dinner, I assume?" Adrian Chmielarz, creative director at People Can Fly told the magazine.

He explains the swearing in Bulletstorm was just "exotic and fun" to them, and publisher Epic let the studio run with it, not realizing that they'd gone beyond their own intentions. The developer didn't realize the power of the words.

"It was only at the end of the development," Chmielarz remarks. "When I read the Polish translation of the game, that I realized how dirty we were. I swear a lot. A LOT. And yet still I ... kind of blushed."

Rumour: Bulletstorm's People Can Fly "likely" to make Gears of War prequels?

QUOTE
According to magazine OXM and its rumour-mill, Epic Games-owned People Can Fly will be taking over the reins for Gears of War with a "prequel trilogy" as the "likely scenario".

Epic is developing DLC for Gears of War 3 right now, which includes a prequel visit as Locus boss General RAAM. People Can Fly created Bulletstorm but it had lacklustre sales.

Would Epic Games hand-over their major triple A meal ticket IP to the newly acquired People Can Fly? Gears of War 3 released in September exclusive to Xbox 360 to high praise.

Bulletstorm 2 canned, original hurt by poor port and piracy on PC

user posted image
QUOTE
It’s a tough industry for a new series. As someone who very much enjoyed Bulletstorm’s gorgeous, bombastic shoot-outs, I quietly hoped that People Can Fly had done enough to earn a sequel. Sadly, it’s not to be. Epic Games president Mike Capps has told Gamespot that while Bulletstorm was “very critically successful,” it was merely “good, but not amazing” in the sales department. “I think EA was hoping we’d do better,” he says.

Capps mentioned that some initial design work was done on Bulletstorm 2, but it’s since been spiked in favour of other projects. He also admits that Bulletstorm underperformed on PC, and gives a couple of reasons. You can probably guess the main one. It begins with “P,” is an anagram of CRAPYI, and rhymes with “biracy.”

“It didn’t do very well on PC” he said, “and I think a lot of that was due to piracy. It wasn’t the best PC port ever, sure, but also piracy was a pretty big problem.”

Aside from the field of view (easily fixed with some .ini tweaks), Games for Windows Live was the biggest bane of my time with Bulletstorm, a service that only seemed happy to sign me in once I’d sacrificed a small animal in its name. The rest, including the extraordinarily bloody co-op, provided some very satisfying shooting, and is still one of the only games that lets players kick enemies into cacti for points. You can try it out for yourself in the Bulletstorm demo on Steam.

It’s not all bad news, though. Developers People Can Fly are still together, and are working on something new. “we found a project that we thought was a better fit for People Can Fly,” said Capps. “We haven’t announced that yet, but we will be announcing it pretty soon.” Hopefully it’ll be a 70s cops and robbers caper called Mulletstorm.
