interested in purchasing the nokia 5800. but i have only been using SE till now. was hoping someone could perhaps tell me the upsides and the downsides of 5800. and between XM and navi, which is the way to go. heard theres some freezing going with symbian and the back of the phone will tend to heat up during calls, true?
mainly interested in an all around phone(with gps) with a budget of only around 800. within 800 is preferable.
hope people around here might help me with the doubts on 5800. =)

5800XM is a good phone..
it suits your budget as well..

now.. the navigation edition and xpressmusic is only different is the cover color,..
other no difference.. as xpressmusic now has free navigation + voice guided , maps.. and also has free in car holder too...


the 5800XM processor is quite okay... and can run symbian OS well... maybe if you running more than 3 tasks.. it can lag a bit

wow reading throughout this thread, there are a lot of recommendation to go for N900.

despite that, may i know what is(are?) disadvantages of N900?

limited 3rd party software... --> yes its Maemo.. and soon there are Meego OS [will replaced Maemo OS ]..
short battery life --> not more than 6 days , around 2-3 days... but it worth it

around 2 days is very good d for touch screen fon...

yes.. with the graphic accelerator.. it may drain battery a bit..

Hi everyone, I've been really confused with what handphones to buy. Have been using an old phone dated 6 yrs back. >.< Dad decided to get me a new one as a gift; so, here goes, I'd appreciate the help!

Brand : No specific brand. Would prefer smartphones.

Budget: RM1000-RM1300

Specs: I am no gadget fan, so I really have no particular specs to aim. Just would love to browse the internet, watch some video. Read some pdf files *( IF possible ) I have no use for 3g calls, so it doesn't bother me if the phone doesn't support that.

However, I'm seeing blackberry and iphone everywhere, :/ I want something different for a change within my group of friends. Something i can flaunt with. Thanks in advance.

consider samsung wave. It comes with 1 ghz cortex processor

If u prefer something more exploration and unique can consider Nokia n900

i have been using sony xperia for not even a year, seems to have prob now days, i need a phone with good battery life ,wifi ,3g , camera with face/smile detection ,sound ok2, nice interface, good vid quality for streaming/buffering

any brand will do, will really appreciate your guidance

mayb u can try w995, non touch screen, battery life would b longer..
wat i recommed u go for touch screen fon nowadays..
like n900, vivaz, x10, satio, wave..

1. Brand : Nokia or S.E
2. Budget : below 1.5k ?(abit higher not a problem)
3. Specs: Decent camera, music, life, wireless, less lag, and good memory
4. Type/Size : no special requirement

i had a friend told me X6 cause its good music quality, touch screen and less lagness compare with n97 which i enquire b4, get the price for rm1180, original set with all stuff in box, 16gb.
hopefully i can get some advise like, good touch screen ? nice sound ? software ok ? any mindset preparation b4 buying ? like, be ready u get dc always, camera sometimes bad, or casing easy spoil(this i know)

Nokia X6 is good.. it has decent camera , speaker too..

but well.. since you have nice budget..

i suggest you go for Nokia N900 / SE Vivaz ..
