Guys aquestion here,

if a chiller is switch off, can the water still go through it? like if i ever hypothecticly, i put the chiller on timer, would the water still flow as if its switch on?

i have offcially switch from SAE and Yamato to Snails =) results are seen better in eating off algae.

And weird stuff happening in my newly scape tank, my cherries are dying but not my CRS....weird..

i think if u r setting temp at 25-26 and can make sure while its off still can maintain at that temp, should be ok... but fluctuate temp is a no no to crs i believe... thats y the best is to on 24-7 so that the temp is controlled...

Added on May 25, 2010, 9:25 ambrass splitter is the ONLY way... i've tried using Y seperator however u cant controll the amount of co2 released in any of the way... it can be more to 1 tank or less vice versa. it also cost me 20 rcs died due to excessive co2 amount release to my 1ft tank rather than other tank. i also tried to use the plastic controller like using for air blower but it fail also...

so its either using brass splitter that cost around rm50 or buy new set of co2 tank.... i choosed the later

i think the problem would be uneven co2 on both sides.. maybe one having higher pressure than the other because of the different length of tube from the splitter to the 2 tanks.. thats the problem usually pops up with people back when i was googling about this..
but stil can lah.. use splitter.. brass splitter.. or metal splitter..

yeah i think you can.. cuz i read about people's chiller jump starts every 2 hour intervals.. so im sure u can..

snails? those zebra neritina snails or sumting likedat? cant seem to find any of em

yea jump start like our car aircond on & off... but william is looking then option of totally switch off using timer... it can be done but it is not advisable to do coz temp will fluctuate higher that the auto jump start

the temp fluctuate higher is no biggie but what i want its able to maintain the temp i want when i out of my house. i could switch it on earlier and let the temp run through when my aircon is still there

why do you want put timer on chiller? because it already have temperature sensor to cut off @ cut in the compressor..

btw, water can still flow through chiller when it turn off.


can i get brass splitter from hardware shop? maybe it can be cheaper..
i planning to setup another tank..
but it is possible to use long tube for co2?
want to use splitter on current co2 tank.. but new tank maybe need to use 10-20m of tube..

My brass splitter came in set of 2 splitters like these, and it costs me 70++. Those selling at 40++ only have one splitter. With these I have 2 outputs which I can control the flow into 2 separate bubble counters.
