can you PM me the company name & contact please.

got quote from Three Kim which got many recommendations. asked for a wrought iron grill for main door which includes some flowery type of design...they quote at >RM40/sq.ft... dont think the design is super special or what... or maybe your design super duper simple?
*

First problem is never ever install the grill outside. This will speed up their time in cutting. No doubt if installed inside, if they want to cut, they will still cut but when it is inside, they have to think twice before doing it.
*
How about door? Shall we install grille inside or outside?

Galvanized mostly for areas very heavily exposed to the elements, like outdoors. Everything else is powder coated, more than sufficient.

It depends. You have to understand, no grill can stop burglars completely, it is not intended as a solution. Only a deterrent. Thieves might be delayed when facing a house with grills, so they choose one without.
So when you install, just pick where it would be harder for them to pry or cut open. Usually for main doors, people install outside for visibility and as deterrent. If installed inside nobody can see right.

true.. if they want to break in.. no matter how good the grille is.. they still able to go in.. jz the matter of time only.. between houses, those without grille (or unseen grille) will prone to higher risk..

Indeed. That's what a lot of people fail to get. Do they think there's a difference between how thick it is etc. When it's cut, takes the same time. Most of the time they attack the weak point anyway like the fastening, padlock etc.
When getting grills the consideration should be aesthetics and maintenance. Unless you like your house looking like a jail. And it's only the first step in security. You still need alarms etc

Happen to me last month. All they need is time and we are not home from 8 to 6..

Thought condo with access card would be ok but turns out it's not.. that guy even have a cutter so its definitely renovation contractors..

added alarm and xiaomi home cctv immediately after that day..

add: even the guy who fix the grille said no matter how if they wanna break in they can still find a way ..

That's unfortunate, sorry to hear. Did you lodge a complaint with management? It's terrible that you're paying for security but can't have even peace of mind.

Yes, we did..

what they did after..

1) register every contractor in the vehicle not the driver only
2) lock the emergency door because that's the only way they can access to different level without access card
3) contractor vehicle to park outside the compound

whether it will many any difference i'm not sure..

to prevent the same thing happen again, i guess alarm and cctv it's the way to go..

the cost to fix that grille and replace handle - rm850 ..

luckily i just bought the home content and fixtures insurance the week before this happen..

Yeah, happen already so what can we do but look on the bright side.
Even with alarms, I still worry because all these are just deterrent. Can't stop them if they really want to get in. So what we can do is just hope the neighbors keep an eye out too as an extra layer of precaution. Have to bring back the civic mindset
