I think not all contractor will follow step by step. If all follow like this their sales will be late.

Sand blast as far as i know is to clean the metal surface and make sure its even... No dent or anything..

Steps normally are

1.sand blast
2.hot dip
3.undercoat
4.powdercoat
5.oven bake
6.protective coating
7.oven dry..

This so far what i've seen in a powder coat factory..

Again... As far as I know... Most grill shop dont do the powder coating themselves. As powder Coating oven and machine can be quote costly. Unless cut corner lah (cut down the steps). It will take people like us (Grill Shop) 10 years or so just to breakeven on the cost of the machines.

With nowadays margin is getting thinner, no point for us to invest in the machines. So we all send to powder coat factory for the painting works if customer opt for powder coat paint.

~Curious~ ... how to tell? hahaha.... if u feel good then worth the money i guess... dunno how to answer you. Other than that is the workmanship lah..

It does in a way make ut more secure in some way and the detailing make it look nicer.. But like i said it depends on client request and pricing add a bit more..

1. Now we go back to installation method also.. Screw from side then it makes it more secure.. Hard to explain in theory.. Senang sikit to explain hands on.. Haha

2. Detailing look nicer bcoz most of the times, windows are now perfectly rectangular or square.. But metal wielding to shape normally 99% perfect square.. So when install without the angle bar, u can see the unevenness... If got angle bar all these will be covered.. So not visible.. Hence detailing nicer..

I wish to recommend my grille contractor that based in Bukit Puchong, Uncle Jeff (019-6106030). Although initially there were some problems with the powder coating, but he willing to take back and recoat without additional charge. The price might be slightly at the high side, but the material and workmanship that he offers definitely value for money!

Highly recommended!!

I did mine (cluster semi-D) for $6100 with "wrought" iron for all doors, windows and outside power supply box. Quality so-so.
