lol i just realise im posting in the wrong thread.

btw, what can i get in total of rm3.2k, if i want to purchase a d90?

body + lense, but what kind of lense can i get for a beginner. 50mm enough?
*
50mm is a prime lens, cannot zoom. IMHO beginner should learn with a zoom lens, e.g. 18-55mm or 18-105mm.

Why? the petal hood cant rotate?
*
Lens hood is mounted on the front of the lens, while D3000/d5000 kit lens' front is the focus ring which will rotate when you focus. So when it rotates the petal hood will rotate too and it looks weird. Round hood doesn't looks weird because when it rotates it still looks the same.

Very easy to check... find one day TT, shoot same thing with same settings totally, ISO put 1600/3200. see how it goes when zoom at 100%. sometimes review can just be a reference, not a fact.

I trust my own eyes =D

haha yeah @@ if not why they review XD
hmm.gif should be the same since same processor, same sensor. Doesn't have noticeable difference i think

different software makes the slight difference if theres any i guess
*
If you have D90 you will definitely have the 50mm 1.8, and you will be in dilemma whether to get 1.4 or not =D

Different, but I suppose the noise reduction algorithm should be somewhat similar too. Don't tell me go edit just for another model? :S.
*
D5000 is newer than D90, so if sensor same, it's not surprised to see D5000's noise control to be slightly better since they might improve in the processor algorithm.

I'm torn between the D5000 and D90 now...... doh.gif

duh if you could just buy in shops. Online (except shashinki) mostly sells grey set or AP set, not local malaysia set. If any prob within warranty period u bring to nikon centre they wont entertain you, maybe need pay even though still under warranty. just my 2 cents

It's useless to keep comparing your camera with the latest/with the others, because new models keep coming out and price keep dropping. You can't keep following the trend or the latest model.

Just use this quote:
the best camera is the one you have now. Shoot more with your d3k and the next time you upgrade should be lenses like 55-200, prime lenses, fast lenses etc. and your future camera will be D400S/D700S/D3S ^^

I don't complain about my gear... I complain I got no $$ to get more "friends" for my gear.
*
You really don't understand what are we getting at?
FLASH and LENSES are considered your gears as well. Need not so much high end gears or "friends" for your gear.

With the price less than a new D3000 like you, last time i started with a D40 kit 2nd hand and a cheap nissin di622 flash. total less than 1.7k. then i keep shooting for over a year. I don't dare to say I have great photos but I keep shooting without thinking that "my gears not enough, i can't shoot now..."

now, just go shoot more. You just got your d3k and you want lens lah.. flash lah... Learn with what you have first and when you think your gears LOSE to your skill, only you think of upgrading =D

Hehe, I saw that link too from nikonrumours.com

No regret buying the VR2 biggrin.gif.

eh 70200 VRII, last time heard that the internal thread of this lens will produce flakes and drop off? can be seen when zoomed at 200mm see from the front? the issue still exists?

And abut the breathing issue, i dont really get it. At close focus distance, 200mm is only 130mm+? so from 130-200mm on that range u can't see it being tight at all? rclxub.gif

So it's like you set zoom to 200mm and focus to far, then suddenly u focus around 1.4m from camera, the view will suddenly jump to very wide (130mm) instead of 200mm?
