Optical trigger cant do some effects rite, coz ur body flash is lighting the subject up directly, unlike placing the flash on 1 side, n taking the subject at another side
*
u can set your pop flash power manually, set it the lowest power, 1/32 i thk
then the light frm pop up flash not so harsh

thats Sigma 50mm F1.4 EX DG HSM @ RM2.1K... hehehe (im fast  tongue.gif )
*
yes, u r fast, lol laugh.gif

QUOTE(Kent3888 @ Apr 25 2010, 02:20 AM)
Wat is the diff btw this Sigma lens and Nikkor's  50mm F1.4 that 1 with built in motor?

I catch my sleep 1st, will read your reply tmr morning =) thanks yea...
*
i thk both r more or less the same in sharpness, after tested both b4
reviews say Nikkor 50 1.4G is sharper by a small margin, only noticeable if pixel peep
but both still loses out to old Nikkor 50 1.2 AiS
but 1 thing i agree with reviews is Sigma has less fringing n CA than Nikkor 50 1.4G
this due to the larger front glass element
*EDIT* oh ya, forgot, Sigmalux has 2 yrs warranty! thumbup.gif

QUOTE(celciuz @ Apr 25 2010, 10:12 AM)
Usually lens with bigger thread has bigger internals which results to more light. Example, lens A has big internals, lens B has smaller internals. When shooting at same settings, f/2.8 1/60s for both, lens A image would be brighter.
*
quite true, using Sigmalux my pics tends to overexpose

QUOTE(zellleonhart @ Apr 25 2010, 01:20 PM)
Damn my nissin di622 warranty just habis 2 weeks ago... Will they charge me for upgrading firmware? Haiz i guess none of you tried before... Have to try my luck @@
*
i dun thk they'll charge for firmware upgrade
its like cam bodies even old models have firmware upgrades, but cant expect them still have warranty left

Even when using A or S to meter? Or you're metering manually?
*
using A, even on Manual the exposure bar shows well exposed but result is over

i've been using usb cable to connect my cam ever since i got tired of crappy read speed by cap ayam card reader tongue.gif
though not faster than branded card readers, but still faster than cap ayam 1 by a lot
wat i like best is when connect thru cam, windows 7 detects wat cam issit connected n gives all info u nid thumbup.gif
gives battery level %, provide link to guides n tutorial for D5000, provide link to Nikon products, even link to Nikon Picturetown
kinda sophisticated n cool biggrin.gif

D90's built in commander uses optical to trigger flash too. The radio wave is only for TTL data.
*
IINM, u can trigger flash even if u completely cover the flash, thats wat i heard, so that prove it isnt optical trigger
D90's built-in commander shud be same concept as D3's, as D3 dun have built-in flash

there r many good flash out there, it all depends on your budget
most common r:
Nikon SB600 - rm800
Nikon SB900 - rm1600
Nikon SB800 - rm1100(2nd hand)
Nissin Di622 - rm450
Nissin Di866 - rm900

D3 doesn't have CLS if not mistaken. You need the SU-800 for CLS.

I've times where I had to position my flash closer because my pop up cannot trigger it.
*
D3 shud have, cos CLS is a special feature of Nikon
Canon similar feature only their top of the line 1D/1Ds have it, now 7D has it
its jz not logic for flagship model to not have
jz my theory, sory if im mistaken tongue.gif

about pop up flash trigger, im not sure
jz heard frm other ppl say in order to eliminate the pop up flash harsh light during close up shot
they block it with a card

Checked and confirmed, you cannot CLS with D3 body alone without the help of a commander unit like SB-900 or SU-800.
*
seems im mistaken hmm.gif
but this reli is funny for the manufacturers
Nikon mid-entry level cams to entry level FX cams have built-in commander, but flagship model dun have?
then Canon all cams dun have built-in commander except the flagship 1D/1Ds n top of the line crop sensor body, 7D
i jz swt at the way they divide the features sweat.gif

btw, jz noticed radio trigger is not rite
suppose to be IR trigger coz triggered by infra red signal
