I guess should be your metering problem, coz middle is black colour, hence the system will overexpose to let the black to be just alright while the white will be over.
*
Not exactly a problem, but the metering is trying to meter that guy's shirt to 18% grey. Try shooting a white background, definitely underexposed since it will try to meter it to grey as well.

Same here, I prefer to use blower for the dust and all. Only using the brush for really stubborn ones and finally use the tip to make it shiny~ biggrin.gif.

guyz, wanna ask.. i just bought a 2nd hand nikkor lens which is still under 2 month warranty.. however the the lens' zoom ring rubber is loose a little bit.. any idea where i can send to fix it?  icon_question.gif  icon_question.gif
*
Send it to Nikon Service Center for repair. Probably don't need to pay for repairs since it is under warranty? (Not too sure on this part, no experience with the service center.)

A bit rare to see this lens having rubber issue, this lens is supposed to be tough built @@. Is this the one with nano coat?

Don't quite understand what you meant, changing body but lens remaining, or body remaining but you're using other body's kit lens?

Haha, initially I don't know how to do until my friend taught me. Just tell me your username at flickr or something and I can do the signature format for you. I don't really know how to explain well.

18-55 VR is one of the best kit lens around biggrin.gif, but all the other D90 and below kit lens are more or less similar.

Didn't come with your purchase? Should be something included in every retail unit. Or maybe second hand?

Btw, RM98 from Shashinki.com,

which would be a better lens to buy to replace 18-55 kit lens non vr?
sigma 17-70 f2.8-4 OS HSM
tamron 17-50 f2.8 VC

sigma is cheaper by 200-300 like that...btw, so hard to find tamron 2nd hand 1...haih
i prefer bokeh shots...can the sigma do nice bokeh?
*
I will go with Tamron 17-50 f/2.8 VC because of the fixed aperture. Besides this lens is pretty good and well known. Not to mention the latest VC has front focus issue. All my friends with 17-50 VC has front focus issue on their lens. If bokeh is your target, 17-50 f/2.8 bokeh won't be as good as the 50mm primes actually.

bfore this i said nvr mind since i will be using card reader mostly.
but later i think i want just transfer using usb cos i want use captureNX software..

thanks bro..  im still new to d5000 btw.. need a lot of time to discover it my self.
*
CaptureNX software need to use USB? Hmm, I always use CaptureNX when doing simple edits on my pics. Memory card reader all the while biggrin.gif.

I would say most people whose starting photography looks at the megapixels first biggrin.gif. Then sensor... since both D90 and D5000 has similar or is it the same?

hey guys...........

I'm still new in da world of DSLR but I guess I do understand that megapixels alone does not determine quality , if that was my consideration I'd proly be lookin at a compact with much higher megapixels for the same money ....haha

anyway, as I said I'm still new and was reading a bit bout the different DSLRs in this price range and came across this site that compared the D5000 and D90 . The writer pointed out that the D5000 shared many of the D90's features . But I though I'd check with some real world users here in da forum if that's the case.... smile.gif

I was with the megapixel thingy before this as well tongue.gif, but I ended up with D90 instead of 50D xD

D5000 inherits a few stuffs from D90. 11AF, 12.1 CMOS sensor, Expeed processor etc. What D90 has better than D5000 would be, high resolution screen (good for checking focus), twin command dials (don't need to access menu at all, you can rely on these 2 most of the time), built in motor (to use the cheap yet good 50mm f/1.8D and many other good lens), D90 comes with EN-EL3e instead of the lower capacity one with D5000, and of course you have the MB-D80 original grip option to use. Not sure if I missed any, these are what I have in mind for now.

About the ISO performance, this is something I'm not too sure about. Most review says they are either on par, or D90 is better.

http://www.dxomark.com/index.php/eng/Image...brand2%29/Nikon

Not sure if the link can be used or not, but D90 scores better under Low-Light ISO, the rest is the same.

Very easy to check... find one day TT, shoot same thing with same settings totally, ISO put 1600/3200. see how it goes when zoom at 100%. sometimes review can just be a reference, not a fact.

I trust my own eyes =D

Reviews are better than you in pixel peeping for sure tongue.gif.

Both same sensors, technically should not have differences biggrin.gif. Unless slightly different noise reduction algorithms on the expeed processor.

Different, but I suppose the noise reduction algorithm should be somewhat similar too. Don't tell me go edit just for another model? :S.
