After looking back at Man Utd game against chelsea and our league performance this season, i realised one thing. We crucially need one creative midfielder rather than a prolific striker or another defender.  Someone that resemble young scholes in his 20. This is what we have been lacking for some time now.

Sorry to say gibson is not up to Man Utd standard. Carrick has been shite for me n shud be put in reserved. Fletcher is one of top midfielder now but he is not a creative player that can add another dimensional to Man Utd game. He is more like roy keane to me. This is one area that Man Utd shud be looking for when transfer window start.

For this season we still got chance. We have to belief like rafa said  tongue.gif . Our bitter rival liverpool seem like a good bet to help us  nod.gif . They sure gonna be pissed off coz they dont want to miss 4th spot but beating chelsea will let Man Utd surpass their 18 title record holder. Of coz we also need to win all of our games too

If only Anderson developed like we hoped he would after all the potential he showed in his first season wink.gif

benzema is too young for ac milan la =.=

I dont see Benzema coming Manchester United either. For one, we are starting to adapt 4-5-1 formation. This will just push him back to bench as Rooney would be #1 choice, and Owen probably will snatch 2nd choice.

When it comes to 4-4-2, we need someone that can support the striker. Berbatov's unselfishness suits that formation behind Rooney, and once again, Rooney-->Owen-->Benzema, just scared too many striker, like Tevez case pulak...

For the handball case, it is hard to spot. If drogba did that i'll just admit the controversional of the goal and get on with it. But the offside is just way to obvious to not be spotted. I believe thats where it starts getting to anyone nerves, when drogba, knowing himself offside(see him blurr blurr) and summore dare to celebrate proudly..

Rooney needs the rest. Although he managed to be our numero uno this season, look what that has cost him. 4-5-1 isn't our main formation. SAF plays that formation coz he knows that we don't have anyone of high caliber in midfield anymore. We used to have Keano and Scholesy partnership to dominate possessions. Hence, putting in an extra midfielder to cover our midfield.

Back then we used to have Ronaldo to kill people with his skills. Oppositions tend to over-guard him. A little bit of freedom in the center. Now, if only Nani could replicate his compatriot's form for us. Then, it would be something else. Anderson, I have high hopes for this kid. His first season with us was phenomenal. Pawned big names, Fabregas, Gerrard and others when being played on. Don't really know what has happened to him.

Hoping for the best. I reckon that we need reinforcements in the summer. A quality striker to cover and partner for Rooney. A creative midfielder and if Vida leaves, an another CB who can win the ball in the air. SAF knows these, I think. If we managed to get a creative CM and a quality striker .. we would be playing 4-4-2 again. Maybe ..

100% agree with wat u said on this one. We need major reinforcement for next season. We need CM like xavi, inesta, lampard or fabregas that can open up tight defense with their creative play. I bet it will not be easy and come cheap to get this kind of player. But i see luka modric as suitable candidate and he look more like young scholes. gud vision and great at controlling the ball. A cheaper alternative rather that getting player in the class of inesta or xavi nod.gif .

I dont think Spurs would let Modric go for cheap. If Manutd come, at least they will asking 25M & above.

We need to develop youngster to face a bigger stage. I put high hope on Possebon, Anderson & Gibson.

Plus 1.

Ah. I can see it now. The REAL reason why he's using 4-5-1. Because our midfield sucks and only Fletcher is the one performing. So to compensate for that, he adds awesome + suck + suck (flanks excluded)

its like that la..sometimes the decision is for us, sometimes its against us..that's the dynamic and tradition of football that they don't want to change..with all the technology these days, its not hard to make spotting offsides etc a lot more precise..but that's just it..they don't want to change..so we just accept n move on..this is what is playing in my head to console myself tongue.gif

Yes. IMO la. How many times have we seen Fletcher running like a headless chicken this season? That is why I would love for Park to play to support him. Park has that close control ability and great effort in chasing the opponent. It might not have work for every opponent, as we did saw against Chelsea last weekend.

Rooney set for shock Bayern return

QUOTE

Wayne Rooney has been rated a "40 percent" chance of making a shock return from injury in Manchester United's Champions League clash with Bayern Munich on Wednesday, according to reports.

Rooney had been predicted to miss up to three weeks after spraining his ankle in the first leg of United's quarter-final tie last week, but his recovery has been so rapid that he should be back for the Premier League trip to Blackburn on Sunday at the latest, the Mirror's website said.

That would go against the bookies' predictions, which had a return in the Manchester derby ten days after the Bayern match on April 17 as the most likely outcome.

England star man Rooney is known for both his ability to bounce back from injuries quicker than expected and his relentless desire to play every match, so given United's defeat at Old Trafford to title rivals Chelsea in his absence, the striker would be desperate to get back in action for his club.

According to the report, Rooney has been doing bicycle work under the supervision of club medical staff since Thursday. Rooney scored as United lost 2-1 away to Bayern in Germany before rolling his ankle late in the match and leaving the stadium on crutches with a protective boot around his right foot, meaning United need a 1-0 win or better to advance to the semi-finals.

Sir Bobby Charlton still hold the most league appearances for us. Giggs has the overall appearances in all competitions.

yup... i dont know about others but i do feel we need one there. we just cant rely on scholesy all the time, we need to move on but for me, i do have high hopes on ando and gibson to do the job... just ando need to improve his shooting (his passing, sometimes its really nice to see) and gibson need to improve his passing / vision (just please dont simply shoot although that's his most priced asset) so if we cant get one, why dont we develop them, i believe we already have the ready-made replacement here

After watching the highlights, as I didn't get to watch the match live, I understand why would MU fans go so frustrated about that match, I mean I wouldn't MU to win in that way at anytime. The tackle on Berbatov from Lampard was rude man.
