what is Astro's phone number? i want to call them to register byond, dont want to register online.. cause wanna tell them to install the 2 LNB or watever that is (the one that if u have 2 decoders and only 1 of them wanna change to byond)

AXN HD will be shown on Byond next month, as well as Fx HD, chinese HD channel.....

before you used byond, your set top box was never updated?

I think yes, we can surely swap the decoder. But surely Astro will charge us.... We need to buy that decoder. Like Astro max some time ago, we can exchange our decoder, but need to pay RM800 something. But if u add max as 2nd decoder, only pay RM500 something.....    so, expect now that probably this new PVR with HD, will costs more than Max.  Anyway, need to wait until 1 June for official announcement from Astro. I'm afraid to make early conclusion.... But if they give the options , I will choose to buy WD AV external HDD instead of changing my decoder to new HD PVR....

One thing for sure, it wont.. if u are a quality fussy pot like me. The recording functions offered by astro is the unique type because, right after the decryption of the transmitted signals, they just save the video/audio feed to the hard disk. This is easily explained as downloading the file straight to ure hard disk. There is no resampling of the audio/video and recompression. It is the original encoded video/audio direct from astro's encoder system. When the recording is done this way, you save whatever thats being multiplexed inside the transport stream file including multiple audio tracks and subtitling.

And when u record this way, u save the original encoding of either mpeg-2 format or h264 format depending on the broadcasters setting of the channel. You save the original broadcasted resolution. You save the original data rate distributions of that video/audio.

If you get a media box that records, it records thru analog inputs only and you wont get to record the full hd resolution of those channels, at most you could is up to 576p. You won't get to record the multiple audio tracks. You won't get to enable or disable the subtitling of the video just like the way astro's pvr records.

BTW..I think astro needs to change their theme song and also their slogan..

Anybody with the Sports package noticed that ESPN HD is now filled with programming? Not LIVE necessarily, but filled with programming. I guess Astro realizes that a mostly static channel will raise the ire of new B.yond subscribers who paid money to watch the World Cup in HD with the Sports package.

AXN HD will launch on June 16 on the Astro platform in Malaysia, hot on the heels of announced roll outs in Singapore and Spain.

In Malaysia, AXN claims to be the number one English-language pay-TV channel on Astro in both reach and ratings. AXN reached a total of 8.8 million viewers in 2009, surpassing even local Astro channels among 4+ viewers and continued to reign at the top spot in the first quarter of this year.

All Astro subscribers with an Astro B.yond HD service subscription will be able to access the new channel.

Yes, I also realized that. Before this, they always show  the static image (it's dangerous for Plasma user, it can cause Burn-in to their panel  )

YAY!YAY!YAY! Finally!!!!!!! Thank God that actually the 2nd provider at SEA was Astro.... 

Thanks Astro for bring us the AXN HD. Hopefully next you will bring us Discovery HD, Singapore a;ready have that for such a long time, from the first time since Starhub testing their HD Channels.

Hopefully the other 2 channels that told by Bro Cam will be available in June also...

But I don't have so much confident for FX HD, but for Chinese HD, yes, I think it will be available.... 

I think FX HD is similar like AXN or the hallmark channel la.. the programming is not really amazing..

but I saw there is the Chappelle show(is that the rite spelling)... man that show is filled with cursing and adult stuff... I wonder if its going to be available here...
