Are you sure? Because I read that on the website when I purchased mine. Didn't bother to ask much about the Backlit Keyboard because it was stated as default, till I got mine. Bummer.

Nope, when I made my order the option wasn't there so I assumed it was default. Because Dell stated it when Vostro 3700 first came out. They updated the site, but I think it was initially on this link:
http://www1.ap.dell.com/content/products/p...s=bsd&cs=mybsd1 Keep in mind I ordered it 2-3 days after the new Vostros were launched. |

I have to warn you that the laptop bag may be a bit bulky for people who have a small frame.

High pitch noise? how long do you guys drill your laptop? I haven't noticed any peculiar sound because I don't usually use it for long hours. More on my desktop at the moment.
_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ I googled it and bumped into a topic discussing the Dell Vostro 3700 noise issue. Apparently they say its the Seagate 2.5" 7200RPM HDD is known for causing the noise. So its either you RMA it for a new one, which would make no difference if you're given the same HDD type/brand or you replace it entirely with a different HDD. I wasn't used to the keyboard at first too, but I got the hang of it eventually.
The annoying part is when I accidentally touch the mouse pad while typing. |

Glad to know you guys are enjoying the Everki. But be cautious not to tear it, especially on the part where the straps for the shoulder is connected to the whole bag. So you guys should handle it with care especially if its heavy.

QUOTE(kilowatt @ Jul 28 2010, 10:20 PM) Not to say sensitive, its just that anything under heavy weight is bound to succumb to pressure, hence resulting to tearing. In my case it happened within a month after purchase. The good thing is its lifetime warranty, the bad thing is RMA takes ages and to go through all the process of sending/packing/waiting/risking/etc isn't something I'd want to go through, was busy that time and well right now I've come to a point where I've accepted it (lazy) This post has been edited by SPuNx: Jul 30 2010, 01:24 AM |

Tearing is possible with the everki if you use a lot of weight with it. You have to adjust the strapping on it so it would balance out the weight so the support would even out with the strap and the bag itself.

@WiLeKiyO
Try adjusting your bass level through the Audio Manager @kilowatt Can you connect through other wireless connections with your Vostro? Try reinstalling the driver. |

Enjoyed my laptop for more than a year, never had any real problems with it. Just got stolen last weekend. Sigh, the laptop sure served its purpose. A good buy I might say.
Now I'm off to hunt for a new laptop. Somehow someway, I miss the bulkiness of the size and still managed to bring it around to do my work. |

I guess so, probably the newer version, 3750? I'm the type which likes to stick to what I'm comfortable with, so I'll vouch for the new Vostro I guess..

But have you seen the new prices for Vostro 3750? Its cheaper and much powerful than the 3700?
But still, the Vostro 3700 was a good buy. Missing it already. |

QUOTE(bbs3322 @ Jul 28 2011, 12:38 AM) Hi! SPuNx, For the sake of curiosity I bought myself an Alienware M14x and now am a proud owner of one as of today. But comparing with pricing I found a few laptops which are much more economical and performance worthy as well. Still Vostro 3750 is in the list. Hope you enjoy your buy! Totally worth every penny Sorry to hear about u loss. I bought the 3750 around june for my wife, it is quite a nice build. my wife love it, especially the matte screen. And it is quite cool in temperature. And I picked bronze for my laptop, it looks elegant. It is funny, I checked through dell retail out or lowyat, the smaller model does not look nice in bronze, nothing special. But it looks professional on the 17". Nowadays, 17" doesn't have much choice, all are very expensive,. Cheaper range, I can find are dell vostrol 3750 or sager 5175. But sager one have to purchase through local reseller and service, repair might be troublesome. Good luck on u hunt for 17" laptop. As for the Alienware laptop, all I can say is that its more of a cosmetic laptop rather than performance since there are so many other laptops which can compete through performance wise and at a cheaper rate. But no regrets, I am somewhat a vain pot, but I cringe at the mentioning of people calling it a kiddy laptop. lol. |

@cinebao
sorry I have no prior experience with that, since 3750 is a advance upgraded version of 3700. @luqman092 If you're looking for a cooler that fits 17" try the Coolermaster Notepal U3. The cost is around RM80-RM100 if I'm not mistaken. Comes with customizable fans which can be placed onto the cooler pad according to your laptop vents. |

@jigon: you're right, I can't seem to find it either. Now the biggest size is 15" only. That's quite sudden.
